Chapter 5 The Man in the Wheelchair

Despite his injured hand, he remained calm; could there be something wrong with his brain?

Ye Fanxing didn't think much of it, after sweeping the trash aside, she went to find the medical kit. She remembered there was one here, she had seen it before.

Soon, she brought the medical kit over.

Seeing her about to treat his wound, Fu Jingyu said, "I can do it myself."

He didn't like being touched by others.

Ye Fanxing said, "It's fine, I'll do it. You're clumsy."

She cleaned his wound, disinfected it, and applied a Band-Aid.

Clumsy?

Was she referring to him?

Fu Jingyu couldn't help but frown.

Chiang Sen came in through the door, just in time to catch sight of this scene: a young lass crouching next to Mr. Fu, treating his wound.

And Mr. Fu hadn't shooed her away?

Fu Jingyu had been staying here for over two months, not returning home, as he didn't want to interact with people.

This turn of events was rather surprising.

"Done." Ye Fanxing stood up and prepared to put the medicine box away. Seeing Chiang Sen standing there, she said, "Mr. Chiang."

Normally, Chiang Sen handled everything around here and interacted with her quite a bit.

Chiang Sen nodded in acknowledgment.

Once Ye Fanxing left, he said to Fu Jingyu, "I heard Miss Su still hasn't contacted anyone... it's said that she has gone abroad to study."

This Miss Su was originally Mr. Fu's fiancée. They were expected to get married this year. However, she hadn't appeared even once after Mr. Fu's accident. She hadn't even made a single phone call.

After listening to Chiang Sen, Fu Jingyu laughed, "Chiang Sen, do you believe I am that terrifying?"

Just because he lost a leg, was she so terrified that he would cling to her? She did not dare to ask even a single question?

Chiang Sen said, "Mr. Fu, don't overthink it. Your leg will get better, and things aren't as hopeless as they seem. Your family cares about you."

Ye Fanxing had cleaned the house and was about to leave when it suddenly started raining heavily, forcing her to stay.

Not having to return home so early, she let out a sigh of relief.

Her mother had been displeased with her for days because she insisted on going to school. Her mother viewed her as an enemy.

Ye Fanxing knew that convincing her mother to pay for her tuition was impossible.

Was she really going to listen to her mother and obediently give up her studies to get married?

Ye Fanxing's gaze landed on Fu Jingyu, who was staring blankly out of the window.

She knocked on the door and walked in.

Fu Jingyu lifted his head and looked at her, "What is it?"

"Sir, could you...advance me some money?" Perhaps because he was still a stranger to her, it wasn't too difficult for her to ask.

Fu Jingyu looked at her quizzically.

Ye Fanxing said, "I know it's abrupt to ask this, but I'll pay you back. I can write an IOU. Whatever it takes, I'll return the money... I want to go to school, but I'm short on tuition."

She had thought it through clearly, no matter what, she couldn't give up her education.

This was the only hope she saw at the moment.

Fu Jingyu looked at Ye Fanxing; he had heard from Chiang Sen before that her grades were excellent. That was the reason why Chiang Sen felt comfortable letting her work here.

Under normal circumstances, he would have agreed right away.

But today, because of Su Linhuan, his mood was bad.

Looking at her, for some unknown reason, he wanted to give her a hard time, "I'm not someone who likes to help others without reason. If you want my help... then, you have to help me once too."
