She hadn't contacted her family in a while. She had left home in a huff and if Uncle ignored her, she might not go back to Nanchuan, leaving her truly alone.
Fu Jingyu, looking at Ye Fanxing, found his heart aching every time he saw the occasional glimpses of sadness in her expression.
He gazed at Ye Fanxing, saying in a warm voice, "Okay, I was merely joking. I'm not angry with you. I just wanted to see your reaction."
"But you've been ignoring me." Ye Fanxing glared at him, nudging her head against his chest.
Fu Jingyu took the opportunity to hold her head gently, smiling, "Okay, it's my fault."
Having just finished dinner, Ye Fanxing and Fu Jingyu rested in the room.
She was perched on the couch, engrossed in a TV show on Fu Jingyu's tablet, laughing at times at the plot. Her ten small toes peeked out innocently, catching Jingyu's eye.
Fu Jingyu, sitting beside her, glanced at the absorbed Ye Fanxing, then lowered his head to continue reading his book.
