Except For Shameless People

Liu Wenmeng's face soured.

He'd pursued Qiao Jin for a reason.

First of all, Qiao Jin was indeed beautiful, and second of all, he had found out that Qiao Jin had no shady history and was mild-mannered. She was also too meek to reject anyone who confessed love to her.

They were all college students, so they all knew basic etiquette.

Liu Wenmeng's family background was average. Although he was a local, he hadn't done very well in school. He was from an ordinary family with no connections.

He'd gotten into this school with barely passing grades due to affirmative action, but later, he felt great pressure in school.

His qualifications were even more mediocre. The school was full of fashionable girls, and each one was more affluent than the next, so no one paid attention to him.

There was also an uber-rich playboy who lived in the same dormitory and often changed girlfriends, all of whom were beautiful. He felt envious and jealous, but he himself didn't have the status to do the same.

He also looked down on female students with average family backgrounds and from other places.

Qiao Jin's beauty was one of the reasons he went after her. After watching some online tutorials that taught boys how to chase girls, he thought he knew enough to deal with Qiao Jin. He wanted to chase her.

At that time, he'd confessed his love for Qiao Jin, but she rejected him, which made him a little annoyed. Qiao Jin was from another province, so she had no local permanent residency ID or distinguished background, and her family background was probably average as well because he never saw her wear any designer clothes. Therefore, she should be grateful that he, a local, chose her, because how could she have gotten someone better?

He had been a little anxious at the time. Qiao Jin might have changed her wording because of fear, but she added him on WeChat afterward.

However, Qiao Jin never answered him again.

He thought that since Qiao Jin did not refuse, it meant she agreed, so he told his roommate that she was his girlfriend.

Now Qiao Jin had returned to school. Just now his roommate had posted a photo of Qiao Jin and Mu Qichu together in the group, then @him and asked what happened.

He was infuriated.

What infuriated him even more was that after he approached her, Qiao Jin didn't give him any consideration at all.

Everyone around them already knew what was really going on, and some people even whispered, "Although there are some rumors about Qiao Jin, how could she possibly date a toad like him?"

"She came here with Young Master Mu this morning, so how could she want anything to do with him? Such nonsense!"

"How can stalkers these days be so creepy..."

"But Qiao Jin isn't a good seed either...didn't the forum post that she was seen in a night club?"

...

All sorts of gossipy whispers flew around them. The more quiet the whispers were, the more jarring they felt.

Liu Wenmeng's face paled, and his hands shook as they held his textbook.

Blue veins appeared on the back of his hand, and his face looked even more ugly as he glared at Qiao Jin. In an instant, he actually reached out to grab Qiao Jin. "You come out with me, and let's make things clear!"

At the moment his hand was about to touch Qiao Jin, she held up her book and thrust it towards Liu Wenmeng.

With a "pop," the book slapped him in the face. It was quite loud.

It even made Liu Wenmeng dizzy, slamming his body towards the wall behind.

"Wow!"

"Jeez!"

There was an uproar in the classroom.

The teacher stepped in, and, ignoring the chaos in the back row, said loudly, "Students, class is starting."

Moving gracefully and slowly, Qiao Jin retracted her hand. "Touch me again, and I'll chop off your paws."

Her voice actually sounded quite soft, even gentle, but it didn't sound like she was joking.

There was an inexplicable chilling sensation.

The hearts of the people around them beat faster.

Qiao Jin generally didn't use violence against others because of karma, but thanks to her strong powers, as soon as someone offended her, even if she were to take the offender's life, she herself wouldn't experience any backlash.

She also didn't like to pay attention to petty minors -- except for shameless people.
