"Update on new kid STAT!" Cherry narrowed her eyes on me.
I wasn't really surprised at her actions but I was kinda confused for a moment at what she was talking bout.
"How even? I haven't even seen him yet!" I frowned.
"Really? Because Elene told me that her mom said that his parents were over at your place for dinner last night." Cherry pointed out.
"Wait Jordan?" I asked. "He's the new hot guy everyone's talking bout!"
"Oh my god you already know his 1st name!" Cherry exclaimed.
"I do." I muttered. " He wouldn't wanna spend time with me after he hears all the rumours." I pointed out before stuffing some books into my locker.
I had economics 1st which was not a good way to start the day in all honesty.
"That's not true." Cherry said softly but we both know she was just tryna be supportive.
"No guy hangs out with me." I said but I could already see Cherry part her lips to contradict my point.
"Chris does."
"Chris doesn't count." I protested. Chris had been in love with Cherry for about 5 years. She was clueless at 1st but everyone else could see it.
"And why don't I count?" Chris asked surprising us both. I turned around and smirked at Cherry.
"It's cause you're gay." I teased. He let out an impatient huff, not pleased with my answer.
"What's wrong with gay people?" A new voice said in a low tone causing me to turn once again.
Seriously what was with people just jumping into the conversation?
"Jordan!" I said in surprise as my eyes landed on him. He'd obviously just arrived because the cheerleaders hadn't gotten they're hands on him yet.
"Azula!" Jordan mocked with a smile on his lips. H e seemed so open, something that formed a stark contrast with the stares i was used to receiving.
"Ummmm..." I cleared my throat awkwardly. I wasn't good at communicating with guys when surrounded by people waiting for me to fuck up.
"Im Cherry & this is Chris." Cherry beamed gesturing her hand toward Chris.
"Nice to meet you I'm Jordan as stated by Azula." He nodded.
"Cool now it was nice to see you." I rushed as the bell rang. " I've got to go to economics though."
"What a coincidence." Said Jordan. "I've got economics too."
"I guess I'll see you in class then." I mumbled quietly before turning to go down the hallway. I didn't even take a step before Jordan placed his hand on my arm.
"I'm pretty sure I get to use the new kid excuse here." He smiled. "Will you show me the way to economics?"
A rush of excitement flooded through me and i fought hard to conceal it. He seemed to be pretty persistent on spending time with me but I knew that I'd be getting the cold shoulder by lunchtime. Maybe that's why I decided to take advantage of his attention.
"I'll lead the way." I smiled at Chris and Cherry. "I'll see you guys at lunch." I said.
"Yeah me too." Jordan added. I looked at him with a confused face. "What? I told you last night that I was in the mood for a new lunch buddy."
I rolled my eyes at his easy going nature. "Cool, now let's get to class buddy."
I let out a small laugh & just smiled down at my hands. "You've got a cute laugh." He said suddenly looking at me with a curious expression. It was as if he was tryna figure me out...too bad I was a puzzle with a missing piece.
"Th-thanks." I stumbled over my words before straightening up.
He held the soor open for me and I gave him a surprised look. The guys at my school didn't have a single gentleman bone in their entire body so this was all new to me. I smiled shyly and walked into the room.
The main reason I hated school just happened to be draped over the desk. His adoring fans were crowded around him. I tried to walk to the back of the class undetected but because a boy with dyed hair was with me, my normal under the radar tactics failed.
"You must be the new kid." Kaylee Rodriguez the renowned cheerleaders smiled widely.
"That obvious?" Jordan replied, stopping to talk to her.
I wanted to warn him against it but that would only draw attention to myself, so instead of saying anything I tried to snake past unnoticed.
"Extremely!" Kaylee nodded. "We don't get a lot of cute kids at St. Peter's." She explained, her voice made me cringe.
I didn't even wait for Jordans response. He could just find me when he was done, or he could just sit with them.
I'd made it half way to my usual seat in the back when Drew spotted me.
"Lippy!" He drawled, a lazy smile plastered on his face as he addressed me. His fan girls seemed to be glaring me down which made me roll my eyes, idiots.
"Lippy?" Jordan mumbled from behind me. I ignored him and played it off as if I never heard him although I was surprised that he'd followed me so quickly.
"Aw baby don't do me like that." Drew pouted. I heard laughter but I was more focused on getting to my safe haven.
Once I reached my desk I flung my bag on it and just sat down. Drew and Kaylee went back to their own conversation and thankfully left me out of it.
I ran my hands into my hair hesitantly before looking over at a confused Jordan.
"That guy seems like a piece of shit." He commented before meeting my gaze.
"Classic jock." I rolled my eyes as if that explained it all, which it sort of did.
I opened my mouth to say something else but Jordan beat me to it.
"Damn." He clicked his fingers in mock frustration before getting his books out and preparing for the class. "Sorry." Jordan pouted and I almost melted at the sight of him and his deliciously red lips.
Jordan glared just before Ryan came and sat down on the other side of me.
I had been lying to Cherry when I said no guy ever hangs out with me. Besides Chris, I had Ryan - although we only ever communicated during economics class.
I would take what I could get though, cause after what happened last year I was actually surprised that Ryan would wanna be in the same space as me let alone stay friends.
"Hey." I said softly biting my lip hesitantly as he glared at Jordan. I didn't think he would take well to seeing some new guy sitting next to me.
Ryan didn't respond to my faint greeting. Instead he shoved earphones in and started sketching pointless diagrams on his book.
He remained that way for the rest of the lesson and I knew that I should've felt guilty but there was something about Jordan. You couldn't feel anything but amused and entertained around him.
I soon discovered that I shared every class with Jordan apart from PE, which fataly came after economics.
Lunchtime couldn't come soon enough, hut it also had me wondering were I'd stand with Jordan.
He had a class without me, which would've given Kaylee or Drew enough time to fill him in about my past. With that in mind I walked to the cafeteria knowing that where Jordan sat would determine our friendship...
