Chapter 25 Twig

Angelica

I shook my head, "No. I'm okay. The test just hot."

"But there's a lot of fans in here how could you feel hot?" Jeff chuckled and pull me closer to him. "Are you nervous that I'm around? Don't worry I won't judge your work." and I smiled back at Jeff.

I glanced at Nicholas who's clenching his jaw and fist, his make up artist kept on asking him if he's hurting him or not and he shook his head, trying to keep his composure.

"All right everyone 5 minutes more chop chop we don't have all day!" Jade shouted making me jump in surprise.

"Is this how it always been?" Jeff silently ask in my ears.

I replied quietly and said, "Yes. Can we go outside? They will call me when it's time anyway." He nodded and we went outside, walking but not far from the tent just enough for me to see and hear them.

"Wow, all those clothes and make up and perfumes. How do you survive?" Jeff asked.

I really need to clear my head anyway. I chuckled and answer, "Yeah it always been like that but I love it. I like art as much as I love my life. I wouldn't be here with you without it." I said, "Art is always complicated, you see. And it's up to your perspective on how you understand or how you portray it. We all have different point of views and that is kind of foreign for me."

"I understand." Jeff said holding my hand as I jump up on a log, "I mean I don't understand art but I know what you meant." He laughed, "It's like the same thing right? Common people hate surgeries and blood and flesh and -"

"Yeah yeah yeah I know," I cut him. He knows how much I hate surgeries. "I get it," I chuckled, rolling my eyes.

He laughed and continued, "But in my view I find it amusing that those things comes from the inside of our body. Isn't odd? It's not like you see blood and flesh and fats everyday. Unless killing a person is your job or something." He chuckled, "So I understand."

There was a long pause but he ended it saying, "Just because you don't get their perspective that doesn't mean you don't have to understand them, sometimes it's better to have an open mind and that makes a whole lot better."

"Okay let's go!" Jade enthusiastically yelled from a far and quickly join them while tugging Jeff.

We walk a bit further into the woods and we finally arrived at the spot we are going to shoot and I love the spot already, it's not small it not that wide just a simple wide place and perfect.

"Jade this is such a good place. How did you find it?" I asked and started to open and ready my camera.

"Oh Nicholas find this place a while ago," Jade said making Nicholas turn his head on our way.

He better not come in here.

And he did.

"I heard my name." Nicholas smirked and look at me and back at Jade. He didn't even bother looking Jeff behind me.

"I just told Angelica that you found this place," Jade shrugged. "I mean this place is the bomb." She explained and I awkwardly laugh.

"Yeah this place is good." I said, agreeing her statement.

Nicholas finally looked at Jeff behind me, "Hi there." He said and I started to get nervous, I don't know if it's obvious but I'm glaring at Nicholas. He better not make a scene on this shoot.

"Hi," Jeff smiled unbothered. "I'm Jeff, Angelica's boyfriend." He added.

"I'm Nicholas." I looked at Nicholas, pleading he won't say ex. "I'm a model in here."

I exhaled so loudly and I'm glad nobody notice, "Yeah kind of looks like it." Jeff laughed, "You look sharp in that." He pointed at the clothes he's wearing.

"Yeah," Nicholas look at his clothes, "Aight. Amma go and prepare." He smiled and look at me and everyone.

"He is so British." Jeff said behind me.

I awkwardly laughed, "Yeah he is," I said as if I didn't know.

A few minutes later and we finally started the shoot. It was pure silent when it began, Jade was so focused on the small screen in front of her while I focused on my big camera and models in front of me.

"Jade again?" I asked and She nodded.

A few shots here and there and we finally got the shoot that we wanted. I went to Jade to see the pictures I take and I love every single one of them, while Jeff look at them blankly.

"But they all look the same," Jeff mouthed me and I giggled.

"No they're not." I mouthed back.

Nicholas appeared beside me and said, "This one is a bit off unlike this one." He compared the two pictures. "I really like this one better its expressive."

"Yeah, I totally agree on that." Me and Jade said in unison.

I look at Jeff who's looking at Nicholas and me, is he starting to suspect something?

"Go away," I said lowly at Nicholas.

"I'm just teaching him that they're both different." He whispered back.

"He doesn't have to be taught, Nicholas." I said glaring at him, hoping Jade didn't hear us. He shrugged off and walk out.

I sighed in relief and walk back to the models and started shooting again after an hour we ate lunch and get back to work as soon as possible cause the sky started to darken and the wind is getting stronger each minute, I think it's about to rain.

A few pictures were captured and we were happy that it turned out great. Nicholas and a few models were the last one, "Okay, glow the clothes for me." Jade behind me.

I started to shoot and I noticed my lens started to get blurry, I rubbed them and shoot again. I made a couple of shoot and it blurred again, "Damn it." I cursed under my breath.

"What's wrong, Angelica?" Jade called behind me.

I look at her, "It's my camera. It's kind of blurry. It's hard for me to see."

"But the photo looks okay in here." She said pointing the small screen in front of her.

"I know, let me just —" The next thing I knew my foot got stuck and twisted on a twig and my camera flew out of my hands and I lay flat on my stomach.

"Angela!"

"Angelica!"

Both Nicholas and Jeff called out and everyone gasped behind me.

I felt a hand grab me by my armpit and held me up, from it's familiar grip I know it was Nicholas.

"It's okay Nicholas let me do it." Jeff said in front of me.

"Ow." I grimaced, "Careful. My feet hurts." I look at the stupid big twig. That's big twig. "Ow, Ow Ow!" I whined in pain.

"Straighten your feet." Nicholas ordered and I did. "I'll bring you to the tent."

"Bro, let me. She's my girlfriend." Jeff emphasize the word girlfriend in front of Nicholas.

"I know, I was the one who grabbed her first, you were too slow. Now let me do it." Nicholas tighten his jaw.
