Awakening (II)

The sky had opened up. Rain was pounding across the land, dense and freezing cold. It had made the ground muddy and the zombies around were having a hard time dragging their bodies around.

The rain had continued all night long and a shadow ran under it. The cloak the figure wore was soaked through but the figure didn't pay any mind to it. The physical discomfort was, however, nothing compared to the anxiety twisting in his gut.

"Please…"

He panted out. Please let him be there in time.

He leaped through the heavy rain, fast and agile. Wet pale blond hair peeked under the hood he was wearing. His boots barely created any sounds as he ran forward.

With him was a suitcase.

Weaving through the woods, he avoided all the zombies. Stormy-gray eyes blazed as he narrowed them.

He growled under his breath, increasing his speed.

"Goddammit, that stupid dog better not let her take a sip of his blood."
