The business of death

The Armed Republic of San Angeles, a purely armament land dedicated to the exploitation of resources; In its early days and in its golden age it was known for harboring prosperity in all its splendor, but the area of which it boasted resulted in an increase in population and a decrease in productivity, not to mention that the era of war that made it famous , it was over a long time ago.

Low income from non-agricultural activities pushed her to exploit the few resources they had and ended up deteriorating the environment. The scarcity of land led San Angeles to make the foolish decision to confront the ethnic groups that owned the fields and purify them to control natural resources and finance their businesses.

Clint Howard, the then president, chose to poison watering holes, rivers and streams to eliminate the threat called "locals or natives." They carried out night fumigations, spraying abrasive poisons on the inhabitants, who affected by the chemicals ended up sick or dead. They were prevented from trading, accessing education and medicines in order to isolate them. They openly attacked their women, children and the elderly. Economic inequality and racial discrimination increased to the point that the conflict over land tenure intensified. The situation could not be controlled or endured, and ethnic groups were outnumbered in both numbers and power.

Although they ended up surrendering, Howard made them sign a bogus peace agreement; because the agreement ultimately expelled them and stripped them of the little to which they had a right. Ethnic groups were evicted in a hostile way to end up wandering on the country's border. The rancor and hostility continued for years and social tension increased. Displaced people who sought to liquidate old resentments, seeing the passivity of their own, chose to migrate to other fertile areas and settle on lands to which they had no right, provoking the anger of other countries to end up being evicted again.

The displacements lasted generations and ended where they began: on the borders of San Angeles. People lived in settlements and refugee camps. They joined with other communities in the same street situation to improve their living conditions and appease the feeling of loss over their lands and homes. Over the years, a new president had been selected and with him, the persecution of them would set in.

Ernest Baum, based on influence peddling and vote buying, was the undisputed winner. He welcomed the elimination of refugees and border ethnic groups and for that he signed a secret pact with the church of Awada, the kingdom of Orsys and the Sultanate of Sahmar to trade with people, either from the border or with his own citizens to keep more land and expand their family's business. After a year of government, disappearances, kidnappings, homicides, murders, poverty and crime became commonplace in the country.

The legitimacy of the state, which had become a narco kleptocracy or narco-state overnight, was even questioned. Rebel groups rose up against Baum, but he had bought them and corrupted them to become part of his mafia business, including the leader Esteban Garcia.

Those who could not be bribed on their side, joined groups such as the nest or the triad to seek independence by overthrowing the government of Ernest Baum, who had perpetuated himself in power for more than 15 years establishing a dictatorship. Favoritism, corruption, extortion and instability were the continuous complaints and the seeds that would provoke a violent mobilization sooner or later, but among the independentistas, there were infiltrators who constantly prevented the revolts in favor of Baum.

On the other hand, the International Union, seeing the situation of the refugees, intervened and established an authority and health aid groups. What no one imagined was that this help was death itself in disguise.

They came to the affected areas disguised as doctors and specialists, with the secret intention of inducing mental alteration or subjecting them to diseases or epidemics in order to study the effects while helping the victims. IU sent prostitutes and infected people to the camps to speed up the investigation. If someone managed to avoid infection, the disease was inoculated in food or injections.

Once infected, some victims were treated in field hospitals and others not, to study the different reactions. There was no consideration, the doctors reveled in the abuse and torture caused to their guinea pigs, all in order to fulfill Baum's dream: the extermination of the ethnic population, while the survivors would be transferred to Orsys and Sahmar to continue. with the next process in the chain.

Amid all this chaos, a new leader was rising, who, taking advantage of the situation, embarked on leading the refugees with ideologies to fight poverty and political injustice: Thulio Bellamy. He had been designated by the IU as the authority to control angry mobs and infected people trying to enter San Angeles. Inspired by his greed and possible wealth, he set out to unite all the divided groups to use as pawns to do whatever it took for him. He thought that he could get them hailed as his undisputed leader, what he didn't expect was that someone would be moving him around like a puppet.

The Brotherhood, The Nursery, Black Sugar and the Gravediggers would be playing with him and the rest of his people without them noticing. The war would begin with an internal battle and would continue beyond the border. The leaders of each group with their members will be in charge of letting them know what the true state terrorism was.

Fatima Muraha, Giovanni Valastro, Tico Villegas and Aurelio De La Cruz would be Bellamy's downfall. The mission: Make him believe that he was the very god and that San Angeles was the devil.

Meraki was at the Black Sugar base. Inside the library he was finishing the assembly of the model of the train tracks that went from Orsys to Sahmar. The model occupied almost the entire five-meter table, where the positions to be taken in case of setbacks, the characters in play, the stops and the blind spots out of the sight of guards were found. The small convoy of 100 electric cars was somewhat imposing before the dolls that were strategically located for greater visualization.

Darius observed the situation somewhat hilarious, as Meraki constantly changed the scene of action and spoke or yelled at the toys on the table. To him, Meraki was a child who liked to play with his scale models more than a teenager who was plotting an assault. He coughed a little to pull the young man out of his trance and signal that it was time for lunch. Ray had warned Darius that neither of them were to skip meals and that he would prevent Meraki from succumbing to his fanaticism for models or he would give him a lesson when he returned.

-We are a week away, you should stop moving the pieces as you wish-

-I can't rule out any possible scenario. If there were even the slightest error in the information the plan would be completely altered and what you visualize would fall apart. It is better to be prepared for any possibility-

-You have no choice ... ahhh and to think that until recently you were a capricious and obsessive kid, now you are just a paranoid asshole-

-Look who's talking, fucking asshole-

Everyone had stopped to eat and there were three tables with 20 people at each. The usual atmosphere turned festive every time they thought about how they were screwing up those who were supposed to run the country. Laughter, screams, songs and jokes, for them this was their way of being active and entertaining. Suddenly Ringo sits next to Meraki and whispers something in her ear. Meraki looks at her strangely and turns to look at Nox who winks at him and laughs maliciously.
