CHAPTER VII

No one other than me had ever gotten behind the wheel of my car, but I didn't care that she did it, there was something about her that made me feel safe even though I was the fantastic creature that was supposed to protect her.

"Where to now?" She asked when we reached the traffic lights on the main street.

"Go straight ahead and the first sign indicating the Bay over there, follow it for about 10 km and then you'll see a big sign indicating the University."

"Thanks GPS" she said funny looking at me out of the corner of her eye as she stepped on the accelerator and went into first gear to get back on track.

"You're welcome."

"This song blows my mind" she said as she turned the volume dial on the radio "I love it when you call me Señorita I wish I could pretend I didn't need ya But every touch is ooh la la la It's true, la la la Ooh, I should be running Ooh, you keep me coming for you"

"Land in Miami The air was hot from summer rain Sweat dripping off me Before I even knew her name, la la la It felt like ooh la la Yeah no"

We made a 'Señorita' duo a lot of interesting.

"I wasn't expecting you to be a fan of Shawn Mendes" she said when the song ended.

"I'm more of a fan of her. Although I'm more of a band guy, like The 1975."

"They are one of my favourite bands."

"How about taking a car again?" I asked when we parked in the campus car park.

"Rewarding, my older brother won't let me take his car" she explained as he got out of the car, leaving his backpack behind which I picked up.

"Here, you forgot" I held the bag out to her and she quickly grabbed it from my hands.

Another crush went through me as soon as his fingers touched mine.

"We have to look at this, every time you touch me I get a calamity Matt" said Sarah waving her hand gently in the air.

"Or we could be in constant contact, to get used to it."

Thanks tongue for making me look like a real retard.

"Come on, I'm sure they're waiting for us to eat" she said, ignoring my comment, luckily.

"Yes, I'm starving" said as I rubbed my belly over my jumper.

"Are you still hungry, with all you've eaten?"

"I do a lot…"

"A lot of sport, yes, let's go" she interrupted me while she took my hand and stretched out of my way to the central cafeteria of the university "My brothers are waiting for me to eat" she announced after looking at her phone.

"Just like my friends."

She didn't let go of my hand all the way and I didn't dare say anything about it.

The central cafeteria of the University as always used to be crowded, but I could see over the crowd Mike's blond hair. Yes, it's true that there are many blond boys but none of them have the surfing glow that Mike wears.

"My friends are over there" I pointed to Sarah "Do you see your brothers?"

"Not for a moment, if you see a tall, brunette guy with a beard and a sad face that's Lewis."

"The older one?"

"Yes, he is."

I made a quick sweep of all those in the cafeteria and spotted a few acquaintances, until I found Tony who was worth the redundancy, she was accompanied by Sarah's older brother, Lewis; and they went to the table where Mike was accompanied by Ryder?

"Is that him?" I asked as I gently turned her around by her shoulders, nodding towards the table where everyone seemed to be gathered.

"That's him."

Sarah advanced through the crowd not without some complication, even if I took care of pushing some away.

"But look what the wolf brought," announced Tony as we reached the table. "Or should I say, look what the bat blew up?"

"Mike, man, you can't keep your mouth shut" I complained about falling into one of the chairs that were free.

"Actually it was me, Ryder Fisher, it's a pleasure" Sarah's twin introduced himself offering me his hand as a greeting.

"Matt Dunbar, likewise" I replied to his greeting.

"Well, since you've introduced yourselves, I'd like you to meet Lewis Fisher, he's in a higher grade than I am," said Tony sitting opposite me while winking at me, alluding to the seat he usually occupied next to me and which Sarah now occupies.

"I have my brothers very much in my sight, but I don't have the pleasure of meeting you, I am Sarah" said my partner as she stretched out on the table and greeted Mike and Anthony with a kiss.

"I'm Anthony, the blond one is Mike."

"A pleasure" answered Sarah.

"You guys go first to get the food" I encouraged the Fisher brothers "We stay here and keep the table.

"Thanks Matt" thanked me the older one, Lewis, as he left followed by his brothers to the food court in the cafeteria.

"Where were you this morning after the bat threw you out?"

These two already started with the third grade.

"We went to lunch" I explained.

"At the university or outside?" asked Mike this time.

"Out plodding I've taken her to Nayla."

"Did you take her to the Triumph?" asked Tony with exorbitant eyes "She has achieved more in two days than we have in twenty one years of friendship."

"What are you talking about? I've taken you to the Triumph," I said as I looked over to the food bar where the brothers had just started to serve each other their meals.

"We practically begged you Matt, you're very own with your stuff" said Mike following my look

"Although to be honest, it's normal that he's like a lapdog with his girl."

"Repeat that, blondie" I responded by quickly turning my face to Mike, who gave me a funny, defiant look.

"Guys" warned the brunette.

"Is something wrong?" asked Sarah's twin sitting at the table, after leaving his tray of food there.

"Nothing, everything's fine" I answered as I got out of my chair "We'll be right back."

I passed the other brothers on the way to the bar. Receiving a quick smile from her I automatically reciprocated.

"Matty, you're projecting," Anthony warned me.

Projecting or as I preferred to call it; thinking out loud was something that happened to us wolves when it came to our communication. We could think to ourselves, keep all our thoughts to ourselves but there were times when the distraction was greater and they were heard by your pack brothers. In our animal form control was more difficult as we were all part of the same network, but when you were in human form only those closest to you could 'sense' what you were thinking.

"You'll tell me the secret to be like that eating what you eat, guys," said the checkout girl, Millie.

"You look beautiful, Mrs. Rose."

"You're always so kind, here, you deserve it" she said handing me a white chocolate cookie.

"Thank you Millie" I said leaving a kiss on her chubby cheek before going to the table.

Their faces were priceless when they saw us appear with the trays overflowing with food, Sarah seemed to be already cured of fright.

I hope she was as open when she saw my wolf for the first time.
