CHAPTER XXII

Sarah left me suddenly, looking at my chest; looking for the wound, I guess.

"You have nothing," she said as she let out a snort of calm.

"One good thing about being a wolf is that we recover very quickly."

I drew her to me, surrounding her in search of a peace that only she could provide.

Anthony appeared from behind the trees already changed, throwing himself over both of us in a hug that almost sent us to the ground if I hadn't done anything about it.

"You're fucking unconscious Matt," he said against my ear "You don't know the fear I've been through."

"I'm fine T" I said looking at her when we parted "A little tired but I'm fine, there's Matt for a while."

""I'll bite you, you crazy fuck, you don't know how worried I was.""

"I love you too Mike."

I approached the slightly marbled grey wolf, who placed his big head on my shoulder in a silent embrace that I thanked.
