Chapter Seventeen

Tracy's POV

I couldn't take it anymore.

Neither of the boys were talking to me. Even sweet, sweet Jayden.

We've been friends for 6 months and they've kinda grown on me.

I don't even know what I did to deserve the treatment I'm getting from them.

Sure, I had no choice but to talk to Jayden in drama class because we were partnered together but before I could say a word to him after class, he's gone.

"What are you gonna do?" Dustin asked me during lunch break.

"Talk to them." I answered manner of factly. I took a slurp from my water bottle and allowed the cool liquid to slide down my throat before adding, "besides, it's not like they will say they are not gonna talk to me when I put myself out there."

"You can't be too sure." he said eating from his ham sandwich.

"Well, I have to sure. At least, let me find out why don't hate me."

"I have a feeling talking to you is something, they don't want to do."

He pointed at something and I turned. What I saw was going to haunt me for life.

It was the W(B)itches and my friends.

Allison was with Fred, Joyce with Clark, Katrina with Caesar and Hermione with Jayden.

Allison and Fred were kissing (eww). Joyce and Clark were looking at something in a diamond encrusted phone. Katrina was trying to strike a conversation with Caesar but he wasn't looking at her (not that I care). And from what I was seeing, Hermione and Jayden were flirting and he looked smitten (if they still use that word).

"You disgusted too, huh?" Dustin asked.

"You think?"

"If they go on like this, they'll probably lose their V card before graduation."

Yes everyone, I finally succumbed to the BFF pact and told Dustin. You know, the one that BFFs never keep a secret from each other.

"I know."

The bell rang and the cafeteria was filled with groans before the chatter continued.

"The girls have finally released their claw. You should go talk to them."

"Right. We are having the same class next anyways."

I shot Dustin a quick wave and maneuvere around the quick throng of students. Fred, Clark, Jayden and Caesar were sitting on the lunch chairs. They were probably waiting for the rush to die that.

I saw Clark give me a look of disgust and Fred narrowed his eyes.

Okay, seriously, what did I do?

"Are you guys going to tell me what I did wrong or are you going to continue to behave like jerks."

"We have nothing to say to you Tracy." Fred said with a hmph.

"You're a rat Tracy. I can't believe we ever trusted you. Well, I didn't. If I had my way, I would have killed you a long time ago." Clark spat.

Ouch!

"Did I forget a movie night or what?"

"You seriously don't know what you did?" Jayden asked.

"If I did, I wouldn't be asking questions." I answered.

"Remember that party that Allison invited us to, well, Hermione told Clark that you told her that we were virgins." Fred said.

Wait, what?

"What? How did she find out. The only person who knows apart from me is Dustin, and I didn't even need to tell him, he found out."

"Don't deny it Tracy. You were obviously trying to get in her good graces so you told her about it. About us." Clark said.

"I honestly have no idea about what you guys are talking. And I can't believe you would believe the words of someone you barely know over someone you know over 6 months." I told them.

I turned on my heel and walked straight to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror before I allowed the tears to start flowing.

I can't remember the last time I cried for someone. This is so not cool.

I heard a stall open and before I got noticed, I dried the tears and used water to wash every trace from my face.

I didn't know someone was here

"You alright?" the person asked.

Hermione.

I looked at her and I saw concern on her face. Like total, absolute concern.

Are you shitting me right now?

"Snake." I hissed at her.

She looked taken aback. "Excuse me?"

"You heard me. You are a snake. So the only reason you wanted to be friends with me after your stupid vendetta with your brother over fucking condoms. Seriously Hermione, you have no heart. You convinced your parents to throw your twin brother out and of course they were stupid to listen to you, it still doesn't make a difference.

"You know, when you said you wanted to be friends again, I was so happy. So elated to have my best friend back because Lord knows there are somethings that Dustin should never know about. And then, you and your new best friends break the only other friendship I had."

The shocked look on her face was still there. I'd say it's my outburst. I hardly give an outburst like that.

"I don't even want to know how you found out they were virgins, and frankly I don't care. But Hermione, I regret the day you decided to back me up in 6th grade."

Tears were flowing down her face and I didn't spare her a glance when I left the bathroom.

After school, I walked to Dustin's car. He was with a girl who kept giggling and touching his chest like he was some Superman. I rolled my eyes and proceeded to open the door of the passenger's side of his car, when it didn't budge I gave him a pointed look. He gave the girl an apologetic look, who scoffed, shot me a glare and walked away.

"I'll call you." he told her retreating back.

He unlocked the car and I entered the passenger's side.

"Got it out of your system?" he asked me.

"Got what out of my system?" I asked.

He showed me his phone and on the screen was a video of a yelling brunette and crying blonde.

Hermione and I.

"How-?"

"Dunno. Got the text few minutes to the final bell. Even though she is my sister and I am supposed to be consoling her right now, I'm really proud you stood up to her."

"Yeah, me too."

"I gotta ask, do you regret being her best friend? Don't lie to me, I'm a lie smelling hound."

"Well no obviously. You guys were the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm really sad our friendship turned out to be a mess like this and even though we will never talk anymore, I'm going to continue to love her."

There was a long silence in the car.

"Wanna go to Gin's?"

-*-

We entered our favorite diner and ordered our food.

Chase brought our food but didn't give Dustin a wink or a side glance.

"Well, that was weird." I said.

"I know. As much as I was uncomfortable with it, I kinda got used to it and now that I am getting the special treatment from him again, I feel empty."

I only rolled my eyes and took a slurp from my cola.

"Hey y'all." Chase greeted. He waved his hand, motioning to Dustin to scoot over. Dustin did so with surprise on his face.

Okay on a normal day, if Chase ever wants to sit with us, it's with Dustin and sometimes he sits on his laps or wraps his arms around Dustin's shoulder.

Today, he just sat there looking at both of us.

"Alright, tell us why you are not all Dustin today?" I asked.

"Yeah, what she said." Dustin said with a pout.

"Well, I finally found myself 'the one.'"

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah. He is everything Dustin is. Only taller, brunet, hazel eyed, working, a real man and great in bed."

"I am great in bed." Dustin said.

I shushed Dustin and faced the person of the hour.

"What's his name?"

"Christian. And get this, he is an actual Christian. He is in the choir in his church and he actually believes in God."

"Wow Chase. I am so happy for you. You don't find a package deal like that everyday."

"I know right. Let's just hope, it's more than a date."

"Hope. What did Gin say about this?"

"Well, he's still hung up about Hannah. But he said he is happy for me."

"I bet he is."

"Where's Hermione?" he asked the question I hoped he would never ask.

And Dustin told him everything. Even about Fred, Clark, Jayden and Caesar.

"You should have seen the way Tracy was shouting. She was like a Zilla. A Trayzilla. Man, that's my new contact name for you."

Oh darn.

"Wow Tracy. I didn't know you had it in you."

"Hey." I protested.

"No I don't mean it in a bad way. I just didn't think confronting people was your thing. And Hermione, that wasn't what she told me."

"Wait, Hermione talked to you?" Dustin asked looking up from his phone.

"Yeah. She said, you guys were always whispering to yourselves and leaving her out of things."

"What else did she say?" Dustin and I asked at the same time.

Chase scratched his jaw before answering.

"Something about both of you having sex or something like that. I'm not so sure. Oh and that one day, boys will be your downfall." he answered with a shrug.

Hermione said that?

"I think I'm going to go all Tracy on her." Dustin muttered.

"What? No. Dustin she is your sister."

He laughed. "You're kidding right Trace? That is no sister of mine. Hermione would never say what Chase just told us."

"So what? Over these past months, I have decided to not let whatever Hermione says affect me. You should too."

"You know what hurts?"

"The ego of your manhood?"

"That and my parents never called me."

"Wait. You're serious?"

"Yeah. It's now I realize that Hermione has always been the star child. My parents say they love us equally, but now that I see it, I know they meant only Hermione."

Poor Dustin.

"Why didn't you say anything?"

He shrugged.

"I didn't care. As long as mom lets me eat what she cooks and dad takes me to his club meetings during the weekends, I was cool."

"Wow Dustin, I'm so sorry."

"It's okay. I kinda like staying at your place. It's cool and your parents are pretty awesome. They treat me like the son they never had."

"Uh, that's because you are."

We laughed and Dustin stopped when we heard the door to the cafe open. He looked behind me with narrowed eyes. Before I could look back, he gained my attention by saying:

"Don't look, virgins and bitches just arrived."

When someone says; don't look, they are obviously bound to look. So I turned my head to look behind me and sure enough, the four virgins and w(b)itches were in the cafe.

Allison, who was holding Fred, saw me and gave a smirk before whispering something to Fred's ear and then pointing at me.

He looked at where she was pointing and nodded.

Caesar went to counter while the others walked to us.

I was hoping that they were going to walk past us but I was wrong. Instead, they stopped in front of our table and looked at us.

I felt like we were in a 1995 teen romance film.

"Hello Tracy." Fred said, all emotion drained from his voice.
