the wild animal and the beast in human skin part III

Rigoberto "Rig" Mendez is the second youngest son on his family. he has four older brothers and a younger sister.

the oldest brother works as a lawyer. the second brother works with the father on a flower shop. the third brother is about to get in an university to study medicine. the only sister is only younger for two years.

Rigoberto's father, Jose Miguel Mendez is a religious man. he is a florist whom has big hopes for the future of his kids. he is a man who always teaches his kids about righteousness. he is a good man loved by everyone on the town.

Rigoberto's mother, Emma Nelson works as a manager in a luxurious restaurant of Italian food. sometimes she helps her husband to sell flowers. she isn't as religious as her husband, but she is a nice lady.

now Rigoberto "Rig" Mendez is a really smart youngster. he spends his days studying to get into a good college. he also has perfect grades. he wants to be his father's pride. he always feels like he is less visible than his more accomplish brothers.

the day of the incident in which Amado got attack by some gang member. Rigoberto was in shock. he could remember his brother. the day before talking about getting in the college he wanted to go.

he remembers the attacker so clearly. he was a white man. he had blonde almost white long hair. he had facial hair. he didn't had a shirt. he had tattoos all over his body. some rings and red earrings.

Rig has seen the dark side of this world. but he tried to ignored it because it has never hurt his family, nor affected his life. not until the day in which he saw his brother been almost kill for no reason.

even after being threatened by Jack. Rig decided to go to the police to report what happened that night. now Rig goes to school with fear of been attack by that man. it has been two days since the incident. Rig is afraid that he might seen him again.

after a boring day of school. Rig was going back to his home. then he saw around of him three strangers. they were walking towards him. Rig recognized Jack.

"remember me? you little bastard. I told you to keep quiet. now I will have to finish the job. I hope you have that ass ready for my fist."

Rig tries to think fast. he sees the guns hiding in their clothes. he looks at John whom has a bat on his hand. then he looks at Michael, who has a knife. then he looks at Jack whom doesn't have anything in his hands.

Rig runs and they follow him. after being running for ten minutes he goes to the park. then he falls in front of a tree. he looks at a sharp branch. his hands are bleeding from the fall. he holds the branch.

John is behind him. Rig turns around with the branch and he sticks it in John's throat. John falls on his knees bleeding. John is surprise. he cries as feels afraid of dying. he tries to stop the blood with his hands. a lot of blood keeps falling from the wound.

"p.p.p.plea.a..ase. I want to live....I am afraid of death."

Rig takes the gun from John's pockets. without looking he shoots at Michael. a bullet goes through Michael's left eye. he falls in the ground yielding. he rolls on the ground. he twist his body on pain. his screams no longer sound human.

Jack shoots at Rig. he uses John's body as a shield. many bullets go through his stomach and arms. John cries as he asks for mercy. his voice becomes more lighter. he seems more terrified than before. tears fall from his eyes.

John tries to cover himself with a hand. a bullet blows off two of his fingers. another bullet blows off his brains. he finally died.

Rig smirks as he keeps using John as a shield. some of John's blood fell on Rig's face. his eyes are hungry for blood. he loves the fear on Jack's eyes.

Jack runs out of bullets. Rig throws away John's body. he runs towards Jack. he is holding John's bat. with it he hits Jack in the head so hard that Jack falls in the ground. he is half unconscious. he is bleeding a lot.

Rig walks in front of Michael. he takes the knife from his hands. he also takes the gun from Michael's pockets. Rig looks at Jack whom is standing up. he is frozen unaware of how to react. this is the first time he feels intimidated by someone else.

Rig aims at him. he shoots at Jack with his eyes clothes. one of the bullets goes through Jack's cheek. another one hits him in the knee. another one blows three of his fingers off from his right hand. Jack is in his knees scared.

Jack is completely afraid for the first time in his entire life. Jack starts to drag himself away from Rig. he still has hope of surviving. he wants to see Sidney one last time. he wants to hold her on his arms. he thinks about his promise to her.

Rig looks around of him. he feels like this situation is an inconvenience. he isn't reacting to the blood at all. he is thinking about how to get away with this. running away will be a stupid choice. then he just decides to end what he started at least.

Rig walks towards Jack holding the bat. he hits him with it multiple times in his whole body and head. Jack falls on the floor bleeding a lot. he looks at Rig whom is smiling while watching him bleed. Jack is still holding of his last piece of pride.

Rig feels rage as he can't make Jack ask for mercy. he then thinks about something. he hits really hard Jack on the face. half of Jack's jaw is broken from the hit. tears fall from Jack's face. for the first time he is crying. he cries like a kid.

Michael stands up. he yields telling Rig to stop. Michael calls him a 'stupid illegal beaner' and a 'the ugliest retarded.' Michael keeps using names to have Rigs attention.

Rig turns around furiously. he walks towards Michael. with the knife he stabs Michael multiple times in the stomach. he twists the knife inside so Michael can feel more pain. Rig whispers on Michael's ear. he asks him who is the bitch now.

Michael tolerates the pain without crying. he doesn't have the strength to fight back. he smiles at Jack feeling defeated. Rigoberto keeps stabbing until Michael falls dead. Rig spits on Michael's corpse. he then looks at Jack. the last one alive.

Jack is dragging himself on the ground. he is crying and asking for help. Rig aims at Jack holding the gun. he shoots until he runs out of bullets. one of the bullets hits Jack on the shoulder. Jack asks for mercy aloud. he screams with all his strength. Jack wants to live. he wants to see his siblings one last time. ask them for forgiveness.

"I fucked up. okay. I admit my mistake. so please let me live. I just want to see my bride one last time. let me say goodbye to her at least."

"sorry but this isn't the church, nor charity. there is no god nor devil who opens at this hour. it is just you and I. so simple as that is."

"please let me say goodbye to her. she needs to know. she needs to know that I truly loved her. that I really wanted to change. it wasn't just words. no, it was real."

"you are the first bitch I had put on four legs. it is so satisfactory the feeling of the power I have over you. this isn't for my brother. no, this is because I want to do it. and there is no one else out here to save you."

Rig holds the knife. he walks towards Jack. he listens to the sirens of police patrols. he knows they are some minutes away from him. he doesn't have much time left. he needs to end Jack now. Rig's heart is beating loudly.

one step. another step. he gets closer. he grabs Jack's head. he thinks about how to end it now. the police is closer by every second he lets pass. Rigoberto stabs Jack on the throat at the same time the police arrives.

the police officers ask Rig to throw the weapon away. Rig pushes Jack away. on the fall the knife is pushed further inside of Jack's throat. his body trembles as he dies slowly. Rig smiles at the cops as he puts his hands behind his head. he kneels.

what the cops saw was a slaughter. what seems to be left of three bodies and Rig was cover in blood and he had bullet wounds. Rig was looking at the cops. he ignores his wounds or the blood. he seems like if nothing had happen.

"it was self defense." said Rig with a gentle soft voice.

after his arrest he was put on trial for triple homicide. this was a strange case in which the victims had commit multiple felonies including murder, theft, use and sell of drugs among many more crimes.

the most strange part is that the culprit had never before committed any single crime. nor shown signs of violent behavior. the whole town of Inflictionville couldn't believe what has happen in front of their eyes.

in the meanwhile Jack's mother keeps working, or I may say she keeps fucking man with not a single pinch of pain for the death of her first born.

Samuel is already on Tiziano's office asking for an opportunity to proof that he can be his brother's replacement.

the sister is trying to study while she cries when no one is around of her. Sidney has found a job as a waitress on a dinner. so she doesn't need anymore to sell her body to any other man.

just like that the family of the deceased continued with their lives. even if they did cared for him they had to continue with no other choice.

while the family of the culprit are broken. with one son in the hospital with little hope of waking up and the other son in jail accused of murder.

the mother visits the son in the hospital. the father visits the other son on prison. the father has already started to call a friend who is a lawyer in search of his help. he was lucky enough because his friend accepted the case.

this whole situation is a tornado of chaos. everything went to shit when Jack assaulted that one guy. and it went to even worse that day in which Rig ended Jack's life.

Tiziano is curious about Rig because he knew that Jack was a tough dog. so for him to be murder so brutally it has to be a beast the one who murdered him. it was a beast because no animal can do that to another animal. and this beast has been awaken.

and if he is lucky he won't heard more about this beast. but what truly terrifies him is to think that this beast might be still hungry for more blood after been awaken. a beast like this can't be contain on a cage. a beast like this only stops once it is put down.

while Rigoberto is in trial. he hears about Kenneth Robbins. the father of the man that he killed. he is one infamous man that controls the jail in which he might be send.

Judge Stevens, the judge whom took the case. he was a racist man that had been accused of been impartial with Latinos and Chicanos. he decide to used this case in his favor by using it like a political campaign. because he has been trying to go beyond his position and be in politics.

if he shows mercy to this Chicano. then he would be able to show to the people the face of a merciful judge. one whom is worth to be in politics. and worthy of the trust of the people of his nation.

Henry Stevens is a busy judge with a wife, two kids, a lover, a former lover, a history of domestic violence. not so much for a public figure with a reputation to keep with his pride as a law enforcer.

he is so good at keeping an appearance. but that is not enough with his many secrets. and his hostility towards Latinos.

that is the real face of the man who hides behind the costume of an ideal politician. well this is the man who is going to take the case about Rig's self defense triple murder.

Rig is in an internal conflict after what happen. he is still being in shock after killing those three men in such a brutal way. some part of him feels a lot of fear. but there is also another part that feels satisfaction for what he did.

inside of Rigoberto is that desire to see it again. the face of fear that he saw in his victims John, Michael, and Jack. that face is haunting him. and not for remorse, but for something closer to pleasure. Rig has never before felt this pleasure.

like when he felt it looking at the eyes of the animal that he destroyed. an animal he hunted in a few minutes. that wailing for mercy was so satisfying for him. but his convictions doesn't allow him to be in peace.

because how can he feel that happy after killing another man? after a few days he convince himself that the reason was simple. the other man was wicked and he believes that he did right by ending his life. because the righteous man has to hunt down the wicked one.

well at least those are the words that he repeats in his head every minute until he starts to believe in those words. Rigoberto smiles in a creepy way. he feels superior now. he feels enlightened for his wisdom. he feels like he has found a reason for his existence.

maybe on jail he will find a wicked path. the worst part isn't his love for blood. but that he feels that he is doing the right thing. he feels chosen to do something noble. and killing sounds like that noble thing to do.

"well if he was known for being an animal. a wild rabid animal. then what does that make me? perhaps I am a beast."
