Chapter 3: A Rude Welcome

They continue to stare me down, a girl walks up to me. "Look here, I don't know who you are but this is our group. We don't want you."

Guessed it, I look at her and get ready to tell her to go away when Cathy comes and takes care of things, "This is my cousin Rica Downing. I told you that I would bring her, didn't I?"

"Wait, this is Rica? She doesn't look like the pictures." The girl says.

'Yes, she was punished in the facility. So back off." Cathy says, Kio comes up behind her.

"I was there when the guy specifically called her by her name." Kio tells them.

Everyone stops and I get a feeling that Kio is more respected than Cathy. Cathy continues to pull me towards my room and I let her. She lets me settle in. I still have the collar. I look at my bare neck one last time before I put it on. It doesn't hurt me like the other one did but at least it looks the same. I don't know how I am going to be able to move on. My life isn't mine any more. They almost go me to the point that if you told me to kill everyone in a country, I probably would have. Just to stop from the punishment. Cathy told me on the way here to change my clothes again because they still looked like the clothes I had wore. She said I could still have on the collar though.

I look into the closet that ha new clothes that are suppose to fit. I find a white tank top with some blue jean shorts and put them on. The mirror is behind me so I turn my head and see all the scars on my back that are showing. I am so use to wearing long sleeve shirts now but she only gave me a small amount of shirts and they are all tank tops. So I have to show them any ways. There are scars all over my body. When I turn and face the mirror, I see the huge one from a knife that start on the right part of my collar bone and goes diagonally down and it is a steep one. This scar actually goes all the way down to the left part of the hip.

I have one scar I hope never to show anyone. It is on my stomach. It crosses the whole thing. I got it when I wouldn't give a guy what he wanted. So he punished me and came back again the next day, but I never gave him what he wanted.

I walk out of the room, carrying the bag full of my old clothes and the ones that they had given me, and to go find Cathy. Kio takes the bag away before I even find Cathy. I can see how much the scars bother him.

"How did some of the others come to their scars?" I ask and he looks at me calmly.

"They got them in battle. They came out of facilities but never got treated like you did." He looks away and walks off.

I continue my search for Cathy and when I find her, a pity look I what I get. With her is the girl from earlier, shock fills her face. I stand there waiting for the evaluation that Cathy said I had to have. The girl is writing down so stuff and I get curious and try to look by she hides it. Then I have that feeling of someone being in my head again. I try to force it out.

'Relax, I just have to check things about your powers. I won't look into your memories. We aren't suppose to do that. Then once this evaluation is done you will be taught ho to block people from you head and how to talk to people like this. But please relax. A voice says in my head, but I top trying to get it out. I look at the girl and she is still writing. Could it be here? Yes it is me. Stop thinking about this and relax. I am almost done. By the way my name is Amber.'

A minute goes by, then, 'Okay all done. You can go, but be careful you are really powerful.'

"Thank you," I say and leave.

I head to the training room, where Cathy and Kio are waiting. A boy is with them and he looks to be 17 as well. Brown hair and brown eyes.

"Hi, I am Loki." The boy states, "And Loki is my nickname. I am no god."

"He will be helping Amber train you. Amber is the one who did the evaluation on you." Cathy says and Kio and her leave as Amber walks in. She smiles at me. Oh Crap.
