"How about you explain and apologize, that's probably the best solution to go." Lawrence crooked a small reassuring smile as the other crooked a small smile back,.
Maybe denying someone else's opinion to you would be the best way to go too.
. . .
It's been two days and it's finally the end of the school week, the end of the weekdays.
Friday.
The storm had calmed down too, it's been raining like crazy since the past two days, Cleavon Freyja on the other hand had trouble waking up since then, she had to be woken up to eat, bath, and talk to her roommates in the house.
But ever since Friday came, now with a sunny cloudy weather, everything's been going great.
"Well, the storm toned down and so did your fever, that's good news right there." Natalia, the gray-haired girl sighs in relief, pressing the back of her hand gently onto the brunette's slight mellow reddened cheeks.
"When are you coming back to school, clea?" Estelle who tiredly cooed, lied on her stomach, facing the two by the brunette's bed.
"Right, you know, i hate going to school now. I used to love them whenever i'd go to the basketball practice while our team's cheerleaders cheers for us." Kimberly nearby sighed melancholy, leaning her chin on her palm.
"Why so?" The gray-haired girl sitting by the floor, looked up to the copper-colored hair who huffed.
"What else? It's so boring seeing the members of the group lacking, you who needs to be excused every other subject to take care of cleavon and cleavon being bedridden with an intense fever." Kimberly stated as the others were about to reply, the doorbell rang. "Oh god, what have we done to honor this kind of presence right now?" She added, groaning lazily as the copper-color-haired girl then hopped off her bed.
Tanya who's currently downstairs stood up from the couch, being the closest to the door.
"Open the damn door!"
"Where do you think i'm heading to right now, gingerhead?!"
Kimberly upstairs chuckled mockingly, leaning by the wooden fences by the stairs as the other jogs towards the front door, opening it.
The two inside perked, bewildered about the sudden presence of the person behind the door.
"Oh, pervert guy." Kimberly called, pointing at Kynt Kalix Quarter by the door who quickly sneered at her call.
"Uh.. pervert guy?" Kynt covered his mouth, abashed by seeing the girl in front of him, of course, no other than Tanya Alyana Zacharielle.
After a few seconds, a lightning flashed nearby as the rain then followed shortly after.
The copper-color-haired girl groaned once again, seeing the rain for the nth time drizzling outside the glass windows. "I didn't know that you were a spawn of satan." She added as this made the boy by the door puzzled even more.
"Oh! Come in.." Tanya awkwardly muttered, stepping aside to let the other enter, Kalix frantically nodded in response, stepping inside afterwards.
"Ooh! Kynt! You're here!" Estelle who suddenly appeared behind the copper-color-haired girl made everyone flinch by the sudden scream of the latter. "What brings you here?!" She added.
"Well.. i heard that Cleavon developed a fever.. i didn't know that till now. You guys never told me about it.." The poor guy awkwardly rubbed his nape, gripping a plastic bag on his other hand that didn't went unnoticed by the smallest girl.
"Ah, right."
"We didn't?"
"Didn't we?"
"I mean, come up! Let me take you to Cleavon!" The smaller girl giggled mirthfully, waving her hand for the other to come.
"Oh no, i don't want to bother anyone.. i-i can stay right here and--"
"And you're saying you came here for Cleavon?" The copper-color-haired girl by the stairs snickered as the boy by the doorway stood stiffly after, feeling conflicted at the moment.
"I-I brought you guys some snacks? Well.. this was mainly for Cleavon.. but i figured out that--"
"Kalix! You're here!" The certain ash-haired girl squeals upstairs, looking down at the others as the exclaimed boy curved a small smile at the latter. "Come in! Cleavon's right inside!" She added as the boy then made his way upstairs.
"He figured out that what? What's with the cliffhanger? I thought he was going to say he bought us food as well?"
"I told you, he's a spawn of satan."
"You two are annoying, i already said this last two days ago but i'm still not tired of saying it."
"Like how you never get tired of pulling all the football boys at schoo--"
"Kimberly."
Cleavon's POV
Like Talia said, it seems like my fever had slowed down now.. that's good..
I never knew that the bad weather would get me in a bad condition as well. Not talking about the time i got caught up in the rain.
The rainy season seemed to my sick season.
I tend to sleep soundly at weathers like this too.. i hate to prolong my time being awake and hearing loud thunders that would get me in a scuffed position.
As i was about to lie down yet again, grabbing my sheets to pull them towards me.. a knock interrupted me.
I forced my neck turning towards the entrance as i croaked a raspy 'Yes?', the door opened right after.
My eyes widened as i slightly flinched, all the soreness and weight on my muscles went off for a second as i miraculously sat upright facing Kynt by the door.
I never expected him to come..
Wait.. did i ever text him about me being sick..?
"Uhm.. good morning.." He greets as he gently closed the door, approaching me with a plastic bag in hand, i weakly smiled in reply.
"You came all the way here..?" I asked, coughing afterwards.. my phlegm stopping me from breathing for a second.
"Well, yes.. the class was postponed since the heavy rain caused a huge flood inside the nursing cafeteria.. so i thought of stopping by here.." He uttered, sitting down the floor in front of me as he untangles the knot on the plastic bag, seemingly taking something out of it.
I questioningly raised a brow, trying to keep my voice to myself at the very least.
"I brought you some noodles.. i didn't know what else to buy. I thought about purchasing a pack of ice cream, but the weather is cold." He stated, taking out a cup noodle outside the plastic paper bag, i silently beamed at him. "I bought a beef-flavored soup noodle, i heard that it was the best noodle for a weather like this.. the cashier said that the chicken flavor tasted like hospital food so.." He shrugged one of his shoulders, handing me the beef-flavored cup noodle.
"Thank you so much, you shouldn't have." I whispered, i cleared my throat afterwards.
"It's better than coming here bare handed.. i bought candies for the others. The prices on the chips were more expensive than my daily allowance." He joked, i silently giggled at him. Even if he was a man with only a few words, he had a good sense of humor.
"Right, thank you again." I warmly smiled at him. "Hope i didn't miss anything at school." I softly chuckled, caressing the lid of the cup noodle in my warm palms.
"Nothing much happened, you know.. it's normal if you guys aren't there." He hummed a small melody, rubbing his freezing palms together as he looks around.
"Well, about the math and science competitions?" I blinked questioningly, he turned back to me with a pursed lip.
"It's on monday, the weekends are our time picking and joining the competitions available." He gave me a small nod, i nodded after him.
I hope the storm will stop later on.
"I can tell you're excited." He softly chuckled, i stared at him for a second, zoning out of nowhere. "Hope you'll feel better soon, the class will never be the same without you." He smiled solemnly, it seems like all the burning sensation i had all over me ran towards my chest.
How touching.
I silently giggled as he finally stood up from his seat.
"It seems like i have to give these candies to them now.. i hear them talking about me outside the door." He scratched his forehead, i smiled telling him 'okay', he left the room shortly afterwards.
A faint thunder was heard outside the bedroom's window, the sudden bone-aching feeling ran through me again.
The noises outside wasn't really audible, not if the noises are too loud or either the door is open.
I shivered on my seat, gaining all the energy i have just to lie down and wrap myself inside the comforter i have, it was the only warmth i could hold on to.
It was still the first week of university and life had already placed heavy obstacles in front of me.
All these made my mind shift to what Amethyst had said..
. . .
"You should stop worrying about us and worry about yourself, you know? That's a city, this is a province. It's different. It will be not be easy liv--"
"Amethyst, i'll be fine. I'm a grown up now, just like you and everybody else, i can handle myself."
. . .
If that dumb dumb ever sees me in this position, she'll surely be the one to nag me and would probably laugh at me too.
But, i promised to not make them worry too much..
..that's the whole point anyway..
