Oahu Hawaii, a young girl was born into a very small family.

many rumors were floating around about this family, that all kids that were born into this name was part devil, everyone called her Tara.

her name was Aolani Tara Rain Koi, her parents were very strict, no boys. no dates. no leaving the house past sun down.

even when she was twelve and she was with one of her cousins her parents yelled at her cause she was with a boy. even though he was family.

Tara started saving money at the age of 6, she was a very smart girl she knew her parents would never let her move away.

fast forward past all the hate, and innocence of Tara. she turned twenty two and surprised her family by leaving.

"inā haʻalele ʻoe ʻaʻole hoʻi!!" her mother shouted. "dont worry. i wont." she said slamming her front door. even that gave her a rush of adrenaline.

shes never aloud to slam doors. she moved into a two bedroom apartment in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. she arrived at the airport tired and sad missing her old best friend lulu.

she soon started renting out the second bedroom in her apartment to a young white girl named Annie.

"come on brown, we are going to a party tonight." She glared. "no we are not i dont do that stuff."

"you might meet your soulmate!" Annie said with hearts in her eyes. "i dont care for meeting my soulmate yet Ann."

"you might, ill make you look sexy come have some fun would ya?" she said pleading "fine, im going cause i need time away from work."

Tara had gotten a job at a newspaper company close to her apartment. Annie dolled Tara up in red and black, it went with her crimson brown eyes, and her dark olive brown skin and long slick black hair. her makeup was slightly girly.

Tara still wasn't used to wearing makeup, for work and dinners with Annie. "i look weird.." she pushed in on her hips. Them not moving.

"you look great brown, stop it."

"fine lets go already i want to get this over with." "fine ms grumpy."

they headed in Annie's fancy car her dad had bought her.

Tara was not in her element, she was scared being around tons of people she didn't know.

she was sitting on a couch with her lemonade. she had her hands firmly pressed on her red solo cup.

a man approached her. she quickly got up "so sorry." Tara murmured. she wondered if he had heard her.

she went up stairs looking for annie. wanting to go home, she got to the top of the stairs and caught a glimpse of Annie going into a room with a guy.

Tara rolled her eyes and went to the front door but she was very angry seeing the man that had come up to her just minutes ago.

her eyes glowed brighter crimson, "calm down Aolani." she muttered to herself walking up to the man. the voice inside whispered.

"his name is rowan. hes not like every other human ether he wont ask." She gasped at the informatio. "okay.." Tara answered.

"can i help you?" rowan called from just a couple feet away, Tara's enhanced smell

picked up on his scent, intoxicating her.

"yes, your in my way." He raised his eyebrows.

"oh your feisty." Tara's eyebrows pulled together. Tara cleared her throat. "im sorry. im trying to find a way home my roommate is.. with a guy and she brought me. so um sorry i just need to get out of the door."

Tara noticed his appearance. he was tall around six three. and he had a body blessed by the gods. his hair black and messy, his eyes were dark. Like grape candy and blood colored.

Tara was tall and lean around five, eleven, but she had meat on her bones. "i understand, i dont have a car but i could walk you home if you wish?"

"no thank you Ro-" she cut herself off remembering he had not told her his name.

"okay Tara." she felt the impact of his voice, deep and seductive, she cleared her throat again,

"thank you for your time rowan.." he moved aside, Tara was lost all together, she had never met anyone like her apart from family.

Tara moved gracefully out of the front door. she spun around taking one last glance at him. he was staring at her, she headed home on foot,

"there is someone following you." the voice whispered, "are you f.u.c.k.i.n.g kidding me." Tara answered through her teeth.

"its not rowan." She glanced to her left. "who is it?"

"a tall skinny man. appears to be in his twenty's." Tara scoffed, she just wanted to go home and take off this girly makeup, and shower.

"he's getting closer." tara closed her eyes bundling up her red and black energy.

she bumped into someone. "sorry!" she called losing her focus. Rowan grabbed her arm soft but firmly.

"i asked if you needed me to walk you home." He smiled.

" i dont need a man to come to my rescue, thank you very much." he looked at Tara endearingly. Tara looked back up at him.

getting lost in his gaze, his eyes were limitless. Tara's energy turned a rosy red. " are you kidding me.."

"wow Tara am i that hypnotizing?" He sounds cocky.

"what are you?" Tara was frustrated. "i could ask you the same thing." rowan said moving right in Tara's way.

his eyes turning all red. "your sickening." she said storming off, "oh come on Tara this is fun is it not?" Tara listened to the voice inside

"he plays the game." Tara rolled her eyes. "wow.."

"okay so ill be honest. i dont know what i am Tara.. i have had these.. abilities. since i was a child." Tara listened. delighted that he told her what she wanted to hear.

"well i dont know what i am ether. im from Hawaii, theirs been rumors about my family for generations, saying that every person that had been born into my family name was part devil.." Tara said tearing up.

her hiding her feelings drying the tears. but Rowan saw right through her.

"its alright." Rowan felt the urge to protect her. Tara was sick of his games and jokes, but wasn't going to let him bother her anymore.

"its fine, i have to get home, thank you for your time rowan." the voice chimed. "let me walk you home?" it was a question but also a demand.

"fine.." Tara looked at the road seeing Annies car pass. rowan stepped closer to Tara staring into her eyes, she returned to meet his eyes. it was easy to get lost in them. both there eyes were endless.

rowan raised his hand up to Tara's cheek, not meaning to. her skin was cold and very much so part of the devil, his skin was hot, like lava, Tara flinched, from the unexpected hotness. "sorry." he said in a deep clear voice.
