Chapter Ninety-nine

She looked up from her squatting state. Lewis stood in front of her. His hands pocketed in his pants while he looked down at her. Her face was hot as she peeked down to the floor with the snow continually dropping on it. She felt abashed being caught in this kind of circumstance. He was categorically able to see what she hid from, the sight of Samuel snuffing Marmony's blood out.

"Gracie." He called again.

"Huh?" she moaned in response, too scare to look up at him. What if he decided to prey on her?

"Are you okay?" he asked again, sounding so worry.

Silently, she rose to her feet and dusted her skirt. She peeped timorously at him. The outside light flashed behind him, which made him glow even though his facial features was not able to be seen, instead her own face danced in the light.

"Yeah?" Her mouth twitched in a fake smile.

He glanced behind her. A low groan escaped from his lips.
