A knock went through the door before Ashley's head peeked inside. She sent her busy boss a sweet smile before walking towards her desk with folders in hand. The past weeks of trying to seduce her boss had not been a success, that much was obvious.
…
"Ah, Ms. Reyes! there you are." Ashley said as she smiled, her eyes lightening up at the sight of her boss. Veronica paused at the call of her name, her legs turning to face Ashley. She raised an eyebrow; a gesture for her assistant to continue. "Well, I was going to ask if you've seen the contract from Clarra's Fashion yet. It just came in, you know."
Ashley informed with a cheery voice, showing the paper attached to her clipboard as she displayed her newly painted nails in red, her boss's favorite color. Well, she figured it must be her favorite color because the woman's sports car, earrings, and purse are in different shades of it. Veronica squinted her eyes as she looked closer. The former waits for her reaction with a tight-lipped smile and wide, expecting eyes. She saw the latter's eyes shift to her nails, and she bites her lip, expecting a reaction.
"I have not seen it yet. Why haven't you showed it to me earlier? Print a copy and send the original to me." Veronica ordered as she put her shades on and walked away, not sparing her assistant another glance. Ashley sighed, frustrated. She sat on her chair with a thump and rolled her eyes before slamming her head on the desk.
"Damn it." She said, voice muffled by the table.
She figured that one must have been too subtle, so she tried to make it more obvious.
"Oh, Ms. Reyes! Good afternoon." Ashley greeted the moment her boss stepped out of her office. The woman sent her a quick nod before continuing to walk away. "Ah, wait!" Veronica stops and turns around, bored eyes watching as her assistant runs to her, while there papers in hand as her heels clicked against the floor. The assistant catches up to her, hand holding the sleeve of Veronica's jacket.
"I just wanted to ask how I'm going to do this part? I was having a hard time, you know." Ashley pointed to a random part in the paper, eyes focused on her boss as she didn't look at the paper. She dropped her hand after pointing to where she 'needed help with', placing it instead on her boss's shoulder.
"You're having a hard time with a signature?" Veronica raised her eyebrow as she continued to stare at the paper, failing to notice the added weight on her shoulder. Ashley looked at where she pointed out before giggling awkardly as she turned to another page. Once she handed her boss the proper paper, she once again put her hand on her.
As Veronica scanned the paper, she can feel the way her assistant was rubbing her shoulder. When the hand was now on her back, she looked at Ashley before raising an eyebrow. The latter sweetly smiled at her boss, eyes that turned into slits feigning innocence as her hand slowly trailed further down.
"Figure it out on your own, Ms. Johnson," Veronica commanded flatly before walking out once again. Ashley watched as her boss swayed her hips, striding away before biting her lips in frustration.
"Damn it." She groaned as she flipped her hair back in frustration.
She realized that may have been too much, so she toned it down.
"Ms. Reyes!" Ashley said as she walked into her boss's office. She saw her boss going through racks of clothing as she came in.
Veronica looked at her as she came closer to her before going through the racks again, taking the hangers off and raising them before shaking her head with pursed lips as she puts them back.
"Here are the reports from the finance team," Ashely said as she handed her boss a clipboard full of papers. Veronica looked at it before pausing and taking it in her hand. As she had her head lowered, scanning the papers, she lifted her head when strands of hair suddenly feathered her face.
"Oh! I'm sorry." Ashley apologized with a 'bashful' tone, still flipping her hair around. She sprayed a lot of Veronica's favorite cologne on her hair before she walked into the office. Yes, you heard that right. It was cologne and as others would see it strange, the assistant would disagree because that admittedly only makes the gorgeous woman even more attractive.
"Stop it."
"Yes, Ms. Reyes!" Ashley replies before pausing her movements and instead resorted to slumping her shoulders in sadness.
"Damn it." She muttered in her head silently.
She thought that one was probably too annoying.
"Ms. Reyes! I have a question." The aforementioned raised her eyebrow as Ashley continues to talk. "It's not about work, you know, but-"
"Then, no." Veronica walked away as Ashley whined, exasperated.
"Damn it."
At that point, Veronica didn't even bother anymore.
Ashley sighed, thinking of all her failed attempts. It's annoying how the woman hadn't taken her hints yet. Impressive… but annoying. Now, here she was, staring at her reflection in the clean glass walls, checking herself out before going into her boss's office. Once she deemed herself as relevantly ready, she sighed before putting on a presentable smile. She knocked on the door before entering, making herself known with her voice.
"Good morning, Ms. Reyes! Here are your files."
"Thank you. Just put it on my table. You're dismissed."
"Oh, Ms. Reyes! I forgot to mention." Veronica raised an eyebrow as she continued to type away at her computer, eyes focused on the screen.
"You have an appointment with Sammy Reyes." Ashley said as she tilted her head, looking at her boss. "Is she related to you?"
Veronica gasped as her eyes widened, and her hands froze.
"Oh, shit." Veronica breathed out. "What time?" Ashley stared at her with furrowed eyebrows and confused eyes before replying.
"Um, 1:30 this afternoon…"
"Oh, are you shitting with me-"
"I shit you not." Veronica sent her assistant a look, making the woman flinch, almost dropping the rest of the folders in her arms before voicing out. "W-well, it's only 11:30 pm as of now you know?"
"Exactly! We're running late, Ms. Johnson." Veronica said as she grabbed her coat from the racket beside her desk, hastily pulling it from a hanger. Ashley watched as her boss unusually rushed around her office and desk. As she has her purse, coat, and what seemed to be a stuffed bunny in her arms, she froze before looking around her office once more to see if she left anything.
"Ms. Johnson, hold this." Ashley reaches for the stuffed toy that her boss was gesturing to before jumping in surprise when she shouts at her. "WAIT! Nevermind, it might smell like you. Hold this instead. Now, let's go. We have to pass by a cake shop on the way."
"W-wait, on the way to what? I'm kinda confused here, you know?"
"Please stop with the questions. Anyway, hurry!"
