The Duke's Unavoidable Attraction

"We should just kill them," Ben said. Sigh… the little boy and his little friends woke up the moment I sent my shadows to their bodies. Well… *cough* I had to drink some blood first. And… I was very hungry.

The men from that night, I didn't kill them, okay, this was not the right moment to kill anyone, as they could be a little useful to me. Well, I have a bunch of thirsty creatures to feed, my shadows wouldn't be able to last for long if they don't have some blood.

And, of course, I needed food for my new assistants. These little kids were part of this town's people but then a group of mercenaries and slave traders from some big black market hidden in the underground raided the town and killed and imprisoned the guards and soldiers.
