Knight and The Ogre

It had been a week since Leo came to the school. He still did not make much progress with Luna, even after discovering that they're now neighbours, but at least he started talking to her. That's progress at least.

"Alright Luna, answer this question. Write your answer on the whiteboard. This is difficult for the class but I know you can do it."

She did not take long to think before completing the complex calculations.

"Interesting methodology, as expected of you."

'Dang she's smart,' thought Leo.

The class progressed uneventfully. Leo sketched on his notebook to fill his boredom. He was sketching various things, from the school, the classroom, the skies as he observed it through the window before ending with Luna when the class ended.

"Eh? Who are you sketching, you pervert," a girl appeared beside him.

"Huh?! How, what, when did you appear?" Leo was shocked. He hastily covered his sketches.

"I won't tolerate vermin like you getting close to Luna, hmph!"

'Wait what?' Leo looked in front at Luna, hoping this doesn't ruin her image of him.

This will sidetrack the job so hard...

"Syl, please don't be mean to people when you first meet them. That isn't nice," Luna interjected as she heard the commotion behind. She stood up and grabbed Syl's arm.

Sylvia was making a fuss when Luna dragged her away. Leo could hear snippets of her complaints.

"I've told you, miss! You should be on guard especially among the boys. They all just want to be close to you because you're pretty. That's all they wanted. It's either that or they have some ulterior motive."

Leo gave a huge sigh and suddenly realised. 'Wait, she said 'miss'?'

He snapped out of it and looked into his watch.

'It's already 2pm, ah right there's the art club today. Why are there so many weird people in this school?'

--------------------------

When Leo arrived at the club room, it looked eerie as usual with the bloodstain paint splattered in the hallway.

'Why did the school even permit this in the first place?' He smiled and shook his head before reaching for the doorknob.

BAM!

'Eh? What happened?' Leo's sight shifted from the door to the ceiling. He staggered for a while before regaining his stability. His nose was throbbing and blood began leaking out.

"I'm sorry! I didn't know you're outside… Wait, you're that vermin again." Sylvia was worried initially until she saw Leo's face and her worries turned into disgust. She opened the door at the same time as Leo and the door slammed on his face.

The other club members were in a state of shock. They brought him into the club room and let him rest on the couch.

"Here, some tissues for your nosebleed. Be grateful, mongrel!" Sylvia gave him a pack of tissues.

Elma was particularly worried. Her concern for Leo quickly turned into anger for Sylvia.

"What's your problem, you brute?"

"You should be careful of this guy, Elma. He's up to no good. The only decent guy here is Dexter."

"Ehh Leo is a good person. I don't think he's bad. You've always thought every guy is bad and that they have an ulterior motive."

"That's up to you. I've already given my warning. Don't come crying when he does something," Sylvia warned as she gazed at him. She left the club room right after that.

Luna came in a few minutes after Sylvia left. She was shocked to see Leo lying on the couch with a nosebleed.

"Are you okay? What happened to your nose?"

"It's Sylvia. She slammed the door on his face," Elma answered flatly.

"Eh? I'm very sorry for Sylvia's actions but why does this happen every time? Is your face magnetic to doors?" Luna apologised but could not help but to burst into laughter.

Leo was surprised, he had never seen her laugh so loudly like this before. He always had the image for her being a reserved person.

'I should also avoid doors around Sylvia from now on.'

Luna eventually stopped laughing. "Okay, okay. Sorry for laughing. Sylvia is a very close friend of mine. She's… my neighbour. Yes, my neighbour. We had been together since young so she's like an older sister to me. I believe it is the same to her, that's why she is kinda protective. We don't really hang out with boys so she might have certain bias and stereotypes towards them, although it does not really justify her actions."

"It's okay. It was an accident. This is just a minor problem. I'll be fine after resting for a while. I guess I won't be able to paint today. Do you have any book recommendations, Luna?"

Damian was strolling around during the track and field team's practice break. Beads of sweat dripped from his fiery red hair as he wiped them with a cotton towel. People avoided him as he walked past them. They do not want to be noticed by him, people that caught his attention don't end well. They could only look down away from his gaze and not block his path.

Whispers could be heard from other students around him, but soft enough not to reveal their location. "I heard he made a student quit school again last month." "I even heard one student got sent to the hospital for looking him at the eyes."

Damian looked back at the crowd behind him menacingly. "Uhhhhh?! You all want to die?!!!!! Get out of my sight."

"Aieeeeeee!" the crowd squealed in horror and they all ran away.

"Tch, weaklings."

As he was walking past a corner, he collided with another student.

"Uh? It's you? Why do I have to deal with so many pests today?" Sylvia cursed as she straightened her uniform. "This is why the disciplinary committee has so much to do. This school needs to be cleared of its parasites for young miss to have a good school life."

"It's you, you little loyal hound. Why don't you go running back to your owner?" Damian was furious too.

"I don't have the mood to deal with you today. Get out of my way!" she grabbed his collar and shoved him aside before stomping off in fury.

'Damn, she's so cool,' thought Damian. She's the only one who would face him directly in this school. He shook the thought away.

'Dream on, who likes that kind of person?'
