Today was not that busy, slight slam during brunch but all in all quite alright. Some guests at 212 thought I rolled my eyes at them but in truth, I was just looking around. Pau confronted me about it and I just gave the 'I don't care' face.
I was having a slight hangover, standing straight was my biggest challenge for the time being. See the number of cares I give? None. Also, today's the first time the Double Chocolate Blackout cake did not move.
Lunch was crap, chili, I can't take it. So I grabbed the carrot cake to eat. The bar got reworked, so did the runners' station. When I first came, I looked damn lost. Even Pri mentioned it. Of course, I would be, no one updated the team.
Leo's regular guest came today and gave her a box of Ferro Roche and two more for the service staff. I found out when walking past her, as she was hugging it. 'Mine, no touch!' Reminded me of Smiggle's precious.
Pri was angry that San, Head Of Bar, refused to listen to his suggestions. And started throwing his temper. Leo tried to remedy but no use. She then confided to me that he was starting to be like another 'Nas'.
Evening came around, still wasn't busy. Suddenly, there was a red wine order, via bottle. So, I tried my hand at it. And least to say, I need practice. After finally pouring it out, the guests were kind enough to wait, Leo approached me.
'Not saying that you did a bad job, but your presentation down to your pouring was all wrong. After opening the bottle, you may place the bottle on the table and unscrew out the cork. Also, pour it out for the ladies first. See who is the host and pour for his/her guests first.'
'After that, don't lift up the glasses to pour. Pour it professionally and don't pour so much. If you pour so much, it would mean that you are rushing the guests. And it's red wine, if you pour too much at once, you can't let the wine 'breathe'.'
Finally, after 2 years, I learned how to open a wine bottle. Anyways, dinner wasn't busy either. Then, when I went to the toilet to check on my messages, my aunt asked me if she could eat at my place. So she ended up taking a Sticky Date Pudding.
I quickly let Leo know who she was and got a 40% discount for her. Sam came by and he did a wrong order, which was Chicken Parm and it became my dinner. Then, after running around doing the closing and last orders, Leo suddenly gave me a tray with a Lychee Lime drink.
'Pass it to your aunt. On the house. Ask her to write a review, using my name.' My aunt was pretty chill about it. After all, she is a known charcoal artist in Singapore. My aunt was very thankful. Then, my Ma decided to come as well, but after closing.
'Why your family members all like to visit you? They really care,' asked Leo when I was about to go back with my Ma. I just replied with they are all bored.
Got back, had a fun chat with Ash on WhatsApp. I said I didn't like wine, so he asked what was my poison. In a cheeky attempt, I replied 'You'. Then he mentioned that he wasn't ready for another relationship.
I was just kidding. Or was I?
