20 September 2020

The day started early. I arrived at 10 am. Before coming out, I had passed the leftover pork sausages to my landlord since I couldn't finish it last night. He can cook quite well so at least it wasn't wasted.

The morning was fantastic, with Yon buying hashbrown for me. Ash was in for today, which made me happy. Nas was also in a good mood. We managed to open the doors without any pre-conga line. Gradually, the crowd started flowing in at a much stronger flow. Everything was fine.

Then here comes the kicker; Ram, the useless old chef that Ash and I hate, was in charge today. He is the slowest person in the kitchen. He is so slow to the point that Table 120 waited for an hour and was undeniably angry. I kept pressuring until he got pissed. Lol.

Look, you've got eight dishes on your pass, all not done. The back kitchen is jammed since you aren't sending the dishes out. I can't go anywhere if you are that slow. Drinks were literally faster than the food, all coming out smoothly by the hungry penguin Nas.

I, however, seem to have a recurring problem of sending teas to the wrong tables. Leo thought it was a good idea to hold dirty plates and run full force, to plaster her face onto the glass door beside me. When I was eating, of all times. Nasty shock. Halloween ain't here yet, but Leo is.

Why can't you let me have my nuggies in peace, Ms. Leo the manager? What have I done to you... Anyways, when I came back from back, I found Mee arguing with Nas. They were speaking in rapid Malay so I couldn't tell. All I knew is that I don't wanna come back to an angry penguin.

Then, Mee said three Red Velvet cakes had to be keyed in under wastage. I looked confused and glanced at Ash. He just shrugged and pointed to the massacre of cakes. My face says it all at that point. I never saw that before.

Mee kept asking me to eat the cakes, but my break was already over. I kept telling her to wait until I found a loophole, a small downtime. And I devoured an entire slice within a minute. Mee was so worried that I'd choked. I quickly rushed back to the kitchen to wash the cake down.

Ash was confused and worried, seeing me chug down that much water. I'd say worth it! I told the stickman what I did and he insisted that I took the last piece home. Which I gladly did, with a gleeful smile on my face. He just shook his head in disappointment with my sugar rush.

Leo grabbed me, saying that I could go home at 6 pm instead of 8 pm since there was more than enough staff. Mari screamed 'No fair!' at me. Then, an impromptu idea came to my mind. I wanted to get dinner with Ash since he ended at 5 pm today.

He ended up agreeing but he had to do an hour's overtime. Back to service, Table 207 was a couple with an attitude. They scolded me on why my colleague gave such dirty teacups to them. I apologized and quickly got them clean ones.

The whole time, Leo was trying to see if I could handle the situation calmly, despite being rudely scolded. Mee asked what happened, which I explained briefly. And lo and behold, it was Mee that gave them the cups. But I said it was alright, they weren't that bad.

But then, when I was trying to clear another table, I got dragged by Leo to the side. She asked what had happened and I explained briefly. Leo instantly turned around and proceeded to scold Mee right away. 'Oi! Use your eyes, can or not?! People have to take the blame for your fatass.'

I asked Leo about my leftover leaves. She replied I probably have about ten or less. I waited for Ash to go get some dinner. We ate Tamago-en. I had the all-day brekkie, with smoked salmon. He paid for the meal this time. I didn't realize this was a running trend. But I am a happy girl.

He told me what happened to the Red Velvets. It turns out that he had initially melted the first piece because he forgot about temperature change. Then Mee kept annoying him for the same Red Velvet order but he was busy doing a fries order.

She kept on nagging and asked him to fix the cakes that had toppled over. Then he kinda flipped, asking her to leave him alone, let him do his work. I felt so bad for him but he said he was fine. He had to deal with others that were more annoying than her.

We talked about random stuff. We told me about his first attempts at playing with a kid. It was in church and room was only around his height. A little girl tugged on him to play and he tried to upsisies. But he slammed her right into the ceiling. I could not stop laughing. He looked so sad.

I told him how an Air Rifle works. One thing that made me very happy was what he told me. That my mistakes weren't wrong. In his eyes, I did the only thing I could do. I explained to him about my brother's condition.

We walked around a bit more and he asked if I liked spending time with him, even if we were just walking around.I said yes and he said he was fine with it. I got some shirts for my new workplace from H&M. 2 shirts. I made him laugh with all the times I had to work with Z.

I just love the little things I do with him. Seeing him happy again makes my heart flutter.
