Chapter 94

Charlie's life continued in the same way. Though his experiences, jobs, and settings constantly changed, the same routine of working did not change.

Streams became even more limited than before, as he began concentrating on other larger-scale projects.

Though the streams were limited, his viewer count did not diminish at all and only increased as his fame grew.

He released music often, especially songs on the piano, and became a known composer in the industry.

The game for which he had made the trailer song boomed in popularity and it also became another source of viewers for Charlie's stream.

Since he not only helped the developers get an excellent trailer song and also played the game in his streams, the devs gifted him privileges like viewership rewards and testing out unreleased content.

He would be invited to more interviews and be in videos with other celebrities.

His sister Charlotte got a main role in one of her theatre productions and her passion and talent for acting began to bloom.

Charlie bought another apartment which was very near to where they lived but instead was much larger and better quality.

Reed began dating his crush and friend, the student council president, but they found out they were incompatible and instead, he began getting along with Catherine.

Sometimes, you might even see Catherine pop up in Reed's streams, and though their relationship was not something yet, hints of it were beginning to develop.

Charlie and his friends would hang out often when they all had time and at some point he began to wear masks and caps when going out.

Blake took a break from his job with Charlie.

Charlie's fame growth slowed down considerably after his first few months.

It wasn't like Knife Agency could pour so many resources into Charlie as they did at the beginning.

Still, Charlie's growth was unprecedented, never seen before even with other celebrities cultivated by Knife Agency.

[Jagger: Charlie, I have a job for you.]

[Charlie: What's up?]

[Jagger: Do you have time at 5 PM to meet this person?]

[Jagger has attached 1 contact: Melanie Vazquez]

[Charlie: What is it?]

[Jagger: She wants you to act in a movie.]

[Jagger: She'll tell you the details.]

[Charlie: Sure.]

[Charlie: Hello, this is Charlie. Is this Melanie Vazquez?]

[Melanie: Hello Charlie, I see Jagger has sent you my contact.]

[Melanie: Do you have time at 5 PM to meet up?]

[Charlie: Yes. Where should we meet up?]

[Melanie: There's a Cat Cafe in Weath that I've never been to before.]

[Charlie: Let's go there then.]

[Melanie: Great. See you at 5]

I put down my phone and sat on my chair.

Going up to my computer, I searched for the name Melanie Vazquez.

Immediately, I was greeted by movies I recognized after my modern culture classes with Blake.

She was a movie director for romance movies, toxic ones that appealed to male and female fantasy.

Her most famous work was titled 'Papers' which was not as hardcore as her other works, but still nevertheless very passionate.

It involved very intense scenes and drama which shot her reputation up very highly.

Now, I was not above the age where directors would feel okay putting me in very intense roles so I did not feel too opposed to the idea.

I would probably be a side character or something, which, with Melanie's popularity would not be bad at all for me.

I scrolled the search engine for some of her pages, movies, and interviews, and after reading some of them I exited the computer.

Before meeting with Melanie, I have to meet up with Bzoomster who came to Weath to visit.

At the train station with a mask and cap, I waited for the passengers to get off with their items.

My figure was tall and fit, leading to many gazes landing on me.

My system perks and constant training did not permit me to look weak or shy at all, and so my figure waited like a model.

Seeing a tall bearded tank of a man walk past the doors of the train, I immediately recognized the man I had streamed with dozens of times before.

Walk with light steps, he too recognized me and nodded his head with a concealed smile.

"Ch—!," he lowered his voice and whispered, "Charlie. How are you doing?"

"Hey, pretty good. How was the ride?"

"It was relaxing. Weath's greenery is like no other." I smiled in pride at my home.

"Follow me then."

As we walked out of the train station into the parking lot, we conversed like long-time friends.

"So how was yesterday's filming session?" I asked.

"Fun. You want me to tell you what we did, or should I keep it a secret for the video release?"

I smiled, "Nah, I'm too impatient for that. Tell me."

"Silent Library."

As the name implies, it's a game where six players and a game master are in a library-type setting. The goal is to not go above a certain level of volume while they do challenges, or else the team fails.

"No way? That sounds so fun."

He chuckled, "It was great. You have to watch the video; it'll be released in a week and a half."

I gave a thumbs up. "That's a given."

We walked out into the parking lot. "So you have a car now Charlie?"

"No way. I'm not that rich."

He slapped my back, "I think you could've bought your dream car by now with your earnings."

I merely smiled.

"It sounds like a good idea, but I have no idea what I should buy."

I haven't looked at Pangaea's cars or car designers.

To be honest, I liked SUVs, but getting a sports car just to hear the rev wasn't bad either.

"Mimic has really nice cars… I've been itching to buy one but my wife isn't so keen on their prices."

"Ohh? Are they sports cars?"

He sheepishly smiled, "Yeah. Luxury sports cars. Lately, I've gotten obsessed watching videos on it."

"Pretty nice… I'll look at them too. Anyway, we're not riding in a car today, guess what we're going on?"

He scratched his manly beard, "Hmm… tell me."

"A bicycle."

"?"

I laughed at his expression, "You have to return to your roots sometimes, man."

He gave a hearty belly chuckle and pat my shoulder, "I think no one had a clue that the Great Charlie would commute on a bicycle, but I haven't done it in a long time, so let's go!"

Seeing that he was completely happy and not at all dissatisfied with the idea, I couldn't mess with him anymore.

"Haha, dude I'm sorry," I laughed. "I was just messing with you but I can tell you're a ride-or-die type of person."

He grinned "Dude, I'm down for anything."

"We're not actually going on a bicycle."

"So then what are we—"

A sleek-looking black bike greeted us around the corner.

His eyes widened comically and I could see stars appear on them. Suddenly, the tall bearded tank man got excited. "NO WAY CHARLIE! You're a biker?"

"Felix was given an offer on one of these babies but he relayed it to me. I bought it at a discounted price and then getting a motorcyclist license wasn't too hard."

He slapped my back, "C'mon, let's get on! So that's why you told me to not bring anything except my backpack with some clothes!"

I unlatched one of the helmets dangling from the side of the futuristic-looking motorcycle and passed it on to him.

"Yeah… If you brought a suitcase we'd have to leave it back there," I pointed at the train station.

His giddy eyes did not look to hide his excitement at all and placed his helmet on with practiced movements.

Putting my cap and facemask into my bag, I took out another helmet and we got on the bike.

"You know where the name bzoomster comes from?" He asked me, though I knew the answer already.

"You're really asking me that?" I gave him my bag, "Mind holding this for me?" He took it and wrapped it around his back. "Zoomster… you love motorcycles, man."

He slapped my back with a lumberjack man laugh.

I turned the bike on. "Think I haven't seen you in Lily's drawing classes drawing motorcycles?"

Hearing the powerful rev he chuckled even harder.

I massaged my back while mentally complaining about bzoomster's strength and back slaps.

Taking off my helmet, I walked into the cat cafe with slightly sweaty hair.

I arrived 10 minutes earlier, but it turns out she had already arrived.

She waved over at me once I had come in and I walked to the comfortably dressed director surrounded by a crowd of poofy fluffy cats.

The cats ran at me cutely and so I had no choice but to kneel on the floor to pet their cute heads.

"Nice to meet you, Charlie."

"Nice to meet you too Melanie." I got up from the floor and shook her hand.

"Sit down, sit down."

I sat and placed my helmet on the side of the table. "Alexandra," she called out to a waitress, "Since he's already arrived, could you forward my order of a boba tea to now?"

"'Course."

I widened my eyes, "I didn't know you owned this cafe."

She looked like a very gentle person, dressed in comfortable-looking oversized loose clothes.

"I bought it a few months ago, we just finished renovations last month and we're getting ready to open soon. But it's my first time here in person, after just seeing its progress with pictures so I wasn't lying to you when I said it's also my first time here."

I chuckled and we had some small talk.

My boba tea arrived and she spoke up as I took a sip of it.

"So, let's talk business. I have been in the planning stage of a new series which is called 'Sweetheart'. It is based on a book that goes by the same name and I've been given complete liberty to try to emulate the book series."

"Interesting."

This is pretty good… I took a sip of the boba tea again. "I am not sure if you've read the books, but it's a very cute book aimed towards a young adult audience."

I nodded.

"So, it's basically the opposite of what I do." I smiled at her joke.

"Anyway, the female lead has a younger brother who acts as one of the connecting points between the main character and the love interest."

I unconsciously scratched the head of one of the cats sitting atop my lap. She continued, "For my idea, you would be the sickly younger brother. The job involves good plot relevance and a normal level of audience exposure. Meaning that you're important to the plot and have some good camera time, but you're not as important as the main characters or the antagonists."

The cat I scritched licked my hand and rolled over to its stomach on my lap.

"Are there any questions so far?"

"Not yet, though I do wonder why I was chosen?"

"First, according to your evaluation by Knife Agency, you're beginning to train for acting and have got some experience with acted commercials, correct?"

I nodded. "Second, you're very young and you have a very wide disposition. I watched your performance in the Winter Show and your prince looks perfectly fit the description. Handsome but delicately beautiful."

"Though now I am starting to reconsider, seeing as you're getting really muscular and the way you entered with your motorcycle gives you bad boy vibes…"

I sweat dropped. She disconnected from the conversation and began making calculations of her own.

I did not interrupt her thought process and just petted the floofy cats.

After a while, she apologized with a smile, "Sorry, I got caught up thinking about something… Would you like to work on two projects with me, actually?"

I grinned, "That wouldn't be so bad…"

She laughed, "Okay, well, let's finish talking about this series and then we can talk about the next assignment. It's not going to happen until 2 years after anyway."

"Anyway, you'd be acting as the sick younger brother of the female lead because you have very good fitting characteristics. Are we good on that so far?"

"Alright."

...

Hello readers. Good to see you all again.

Apologies for the sudden disappearance and for the inconsistency of the chapters.

The chapters 91-94 have all been greatly disorganized because most of them I had written last year but did not publish and so all of my ideas have kind of vaporized.

I will try to get back into the mood of writing and bring you all a nice story.

Also, please check out my other book if you enjoy my writing.

Thank you all for your wait.
