Michi, Alyx's best friend

LYX had just arrived at her apartment around ten at night, Nick was of course in charge of escorting her. Her body was so tired, after almost a month, it was only today that she started practicing again.

Every day, she should exercise, but when she was working, she just chose to fill her break time by sleeping or eating.

As for Nick, Alyx's estimate was right, her friend won the fight before the twelve rounds. His opponent was not knocked out, only he gives up, and makes Chris laugh when Nick still wants to fight. Like a man in a trance ready to punch anyone who came near him.

When got into the elevator, Alyx could only lean back. Looked like she's going to sleep soundly tonight. Just about to put on a sleep action by closing her eyes, the elevator door that was about to close, re-opened with someone's hand from outside who immediately restrained it.

Alyx helped with the push of a button, and found her neighbor smiling broadly.

"Alyx, good night," said Indah who entered with a paper bag in her arms. "What's wrong with you, you look tired?"

"Just finished exercising. You just got home from work?" Alyx was clearly trying to continue the conversation.

"No. It's been since five o'clock, but I stopped by my sister-in-law's house," answered Indah and showed the apple inside the canton and offered it to Alyx who just shook her head.

"Ah, I left Kitty alone," she remembered the cat in her apartment.

"Michi too. But, I opened the door again," said Alyx who immediately smiled when remembered about Michi.

"I did it too. I think they're making out right now," Indah's tone was like a parent who let her kids have fun.

"You're right, looks like we'll be in touch soon. By the way, I'm taking Michi to the salon this Saturday. You want me to bring Kitty too?" Alyx asked for approval.

Indah exclaimed happily, "you want to bring it, of course I will allow it," she said and patted Alyx on the shoulder.

Ninth floor. The elevator doors opened.

Indah apartment door was right in front of the lift. She stepped, opening the door. "I'm not going to take you in for tea, because you look so tired," her nose wrinkled.

Alyx nodded her head. "Yes, I feel like I want to go to sleep soon. See you." Not reached yet at the door of her apartment, she stopped and called Indah.

Indah, who had just entered, came out after hearing Alyx's scream. She looks where Alyx pointed to.

Indah's gaze suddenly blurred with tears. Kitty was lying in front of Alyx's apartment door, her gaze glazed.

Alyx took a step first, checked on Kitty's condition, and turned to look at Indah. "Sorry," she muttered apologetically.

Fifteen minutes later, the police arrived.

"You called us, because of this cat?" one eyebrow of the man in uniform rose.

"I don't think there is a need to call them," Indah said in Indonesian.

"We called you because she must have died because of someone," protested Alyx.

"Someone? So it's because of someone, yeah," muttered the cop, but clearly still condescending.

Alyx hissed. "Just check. There's a stab mark in her neck and it looks like the heels."

"All right, all right," the policeman moved his hand, as if asking for calm, "we'll be tracking this incident," he said and ended.

Although the next day, there was no more news from the police. Maybe this cat business didn't matter to them anymore.

"Michi…" Alyx and Michi were in the bedroom, "when I'm not around, you don't leave this place. You understand? Ah, I really love you," she said and hugged Michi tightly.

"Michi," Alyx's voice became serious, "do you think that the one who killed Kitty was the occupant of this apartment too? Ah, don't ignore me, you know this is murder, right?"

Michi immediately meowed when Alyx felt unnoticed.

"Did Kitty get the guy to step on her in heels. Do you think they're this high?" Alyx tried to guess using her index finger and thumb which was placed in the air.

"Only five high, it got Kitty's neck stomped on." She stared at the ceiling of the room, sighed out, "never mind, obviously you have to be careful Michi, or I should not leave you in the house alone."

Michi meowed many times and turned around, as if opposing what Alyx had said.

"Ah, I know you're all grown up," Alyx smiled amusedly.

The following week, Alyx and Michi were able to go to the cat salon where she always visited at least twice a month.

"We should have come with Kitty," muttered Alyx.

"Good afternoon, what can I do for Michi?" the words of a high-voiced girl greeted Alyx.

"Hi Norih," said Alyx. "Michi needs extra care, she just lost her boyfriend," she informed.

"Really, poor pity. I'm going to give you the extra-extra-care."

"Oh, his nails seem really long, he scratched me yesterday," Alyx smiled a little.

"Ah, you're right," said Norih when she saw him, "You want me to give her nail polish?"

"No, Norih." Alyx refused, feeling that Michi would be annoyed.

"Ah, well, I don't think Michi would like it either." Norih picked up Michi and brought her in, leaving Alyx in the waiting room.

While Michi got his treatment, Alyx was waiting while reading a magazine.

But, feeling bored, she contacted Nick.

"I'm busy," Nick's words rolled across the phone, half screaming.

Alyx looked at her smartphone screen. She hadn't even said a word. "Busy what? Busy with your coffee cup?"

Nick, who was off this Saturday, chose to stay in the apartment and enjoyed a cup of coffee. Not forgetting the comics that he was fond of lately. He immediately threw the comic he was reading, how could the girl know what he was doing. "what the... I'm not like you. I'm checking important documents."

"Really? Then, bye…"

"Wait… wait. What's wrong?"

"No," Alyx made a chuckle from her nose, as if she'd guessed Nick's reaction. "I just called out of boredom."

"What? Next time don't call because of things like this. Ah, or you call not because you are bored, but because you miss me, right? If you miss me, just come to the house. Bye," Nick's words came out quickly, but clearly he wanted Alyx to follow his lead.

Alyx looked at her cellphone screen, frowned, trying to understand Nick's words and tucked it into her maroon backpack. *
