Who's Back?

"Could you drop me off at McKinley Village please?" I asked Dante.

I was sitting in the backseat of the car and he was the one who's driving. He sometimes glances at the side and rearview mirrors as if checking if someone's following us.

I couldn't stop myself from being paranoid because of that. Now, I checked time and time again, looking outside suspiciously. Getting nervous at the thought of another car hitting us or someone would appear and fire bullets out of nowhere.

After that fateful day, my life is not the same anymore...

He glanced at the mirror to look at me and shook his head.

I scowled. "I'm visiting my mom."

He only glanced at me from the mirror, "Master said it's dangerous."

I heaved a sigh and leaned back. The smell of leather greeted my nose as the Audi smoothly move along the high-way.

"I just want to see mom," I stated.

He didn't answer, so I let it go. I grabbed my phone from my bag and look for my mom's number.

I should give her a call...

I was about to dial her number when I remembered the lunatic who kept bugging me knows my number. It just dawned on me how dangerous my situation is.

Sh.t! They could trace my location and breached my contacts. They might even harm my mom and my friends! Damn it! Damn it to hell!

I opened the window and threw my phone out. It disappeared in the traffic, probably being smashed to pieces beneath the wheels of someone else's car. Dante didn't croak after he saw what I did, that's better for me.

Not long after, I'm searching for clothes and things that piqued my interest. Dante was standing on the booth's entrance, surveying the surroundings. He doesn't look like he's being impatient, his expression is just blank.

"9,897.58 ma'am," chimed the cashier.

I pulled my purse in my bag to fish my debit card out. My brows creased in confusion when I noticed a black card instead of my blue Mastercard. I pulled it out and stared at it. Gawked at it.

It was a freaking American Express Centurion Card.

What the hell...

My eyes narrowed when I read the name. K A Nagasaki...

"Ma'am?"

I got aware that the cashier was waiting, so I hand her the black card which she gladly took.

I watched how the cashier's eyes widened in shock and awe. She even looked at me wide-eyed before clearing her throat. My eyes also caught her nudging someone with her elbows and they both muttered wow.

Yeah. Wow. The card is that big of a deal...

I was waiting for them to give me my purchases and the card back when someone tapped my shoulder from behind. I turned and saw a familiar face.

Who was it again?

"Aevahn." The guy smiled, showing his pearl-white teeth.

"Oh! Aevahn!" I gasped out. "I'm sorry I forgot your name," I sheepishly admitted.

I didn't know that I would see him sooner.

"Shopping for clothes huh..." he said, looking at the paper bags on the counter.

"Yeah..." I muttered, also looking at the bags and the distracted cashiers. "What are you doing here?"

"I bought a cap," and points to the one in his head. "Are you with someone?" he asked and looked around.

"Uhh..." I looked behind him and saw Dante looking at us. "Yeah, my bodyguard," I answered with an awkward smile.

Aevahn nods. "I was going to invite you to lunch, you still owe me one after all," he said with a boyish grin.

I smiled, what a charming guy...

"Some other time maybe, can I have your number?"

I really do need to invest in a new phone.

"Sure!" He then eagerly pulled out his wallet and draw a business card before giving it to me.

"I'll wait for your call." he winked at me then left, and I stood there chuckling, watching him disappear within the crowd.

After fussing over the black am ex card (and probably getting wet about it), the cashier handed it back to me and the other one gave me the shopping bags. I smiled at them for the last time and turned to leave. Dante then took the bags from me which I let him, one of the perks of having one around.

"You won't ask who that is?" I asked.

He was walking not far behind me and he didn't answer.

"I mean, your boss may want to know everyone I'll acquaint with," I added with a hint of sarcasm in my voice. He still did not utter a word so I shrugged.

I looked down at the black card in my hand. I'm still pissed at the fact that he snooped around my things for his whims. So I'll get my revenge by splurging on things that are not that necessary. It's his fault for giving me this anyway.

I could spend it on lingerie, pieces of jewelry, and shoes.

I smiled evilly. Oh, the things that I could buy...

I found myself back in the suite. The group from earlier is no longer in the living room. Keith however, is nowhere to be seen and I wondered where he is. I made my way to his room and found the shopping bags on top of the bed.

I did not continue my evil plan on splurging money, I have my own anyway, and spending someone else's money, even if it's him, feels wrong.

I changed to one of the tank tops I bought and sweats, also tying my hair into a bun. I slowly opened the office door which was connected to his room and found him talking to someone on the phone while staring outside the window.

"No. Katrina said Katana asked for immunity for 5 years."

I slowly closed the door behind me, careful not to make a sound.

"I don't fvcking know. But that means she would be given free rein for 5 fvcking years. Yes, my sister did that."

My eyes rolled heavenwards from those curses that came out of his mouth.

His mouth should be plastered. With my mouth of course...

I bit my lip when I remembered something naughty. I've been living in his suite for four days now and he really is like a walking wet dream. I recalled the time when I walked into the bathroom and saw him showering.

I watched how the droplets of water traveled on his skin. How his back muscles flexed every time he moves and how tempting it is to lick that runic spine tattoo on his back. I definitely did lick it though, after I joined him in the shower.

I wonder what that tattoo meant...

"That's not the fvcking issue here Sinn." Keith ran his hands on his hair, brushing the strands backward. He sounds exasperated like somethings is bothering him deeply.

Why is he so agitated?

I leaned on the door and studied him. From his tousled bed hair, I bet that he had not showered yet. To his corded neck that I always love to grab on whenever we kissed. Down to his back, that broad shoulders-- my eyes went lower and I giggled.

That ass tho. Look at that fine ass...

For the last few days, I had discovered a lot about Keith. He doesn't talk much, but when he does, we either bicker or would end up seducing each other. There is no in-between.

"The Scotts has resurfaced. The bastards are here." he all but growled at the phone.

I frowned.

Maybe I shouldn't bug him. He's an asshole whenever he's mad. I don't want to deal with an asshole Keith. Nah uh, not this time. I'm too exhausted to fight him anyway.

I slowly turned the knob to open the door. It made a creaking sound so I peeked if he heard it, he's still deep in his conversation though. I slowly slid out between the gap and was closing the door when I heard him speak again.

"No. Olivia is back." He said with a harsh groan. Like the mention of the name pained him.

My brows furrowed. Olivia who?

I contemplated closing the door or not. I got curious about who might this Olivia be and why does he sound anguish.

Could be my imagination...

I shouldn't eavesdrop but...

"She's back Sinn..." he breathed out.

Yeah, Keith! She's back! And so? What's important about her being back? Who is she?

After a long grueling silence, I decided to just let it slide. It seems that he would not add anything to his words anyway.

I was about to close the door when I heard him talk again, and what he said left me dazed.

"My ex-wife is back."
