An Invitation (3)

The silence that came next was loud.

Rachel looked like she was trying so hard to burn me with her eyes, her face alternating from white to blue with a victorious smile plastered on my face.

It feels so good. Just so you know, I've been so repressed these days because of her. I just find her so insufferable. She didn't even have to do or say anything. She could just sit there, and her presence would annoy me.

My hand touched my belly in thought.

Does my baby hate her as well? Do you feel the same as mommy?

I jolted when another hand touched my bump and saw Keith's hand gently caressing, watching it somewhat absentmindedly.

Look at him. He's so lost in thought that he didn't even notice his eyes softening.

"Ahem," Hidetsugu coughed and shuffled in his seat, probably feeling uncomfortable at how silent the table had gotten.
