There was no escaping Lucas because Imani didn't know the passcode for the door's keypad and her prints couldn't open the door so she had to ring the bell. He had helped her carry her box inside, despite the fact that she wanted to carry it by herself, and placed it next to the kitchen's doorway before ushering her into the kitchen. He had made toast for the both of them and placed the plates next to each other on the kitchen island so she couldn't exactly grab her plate and go upstairs because it was obvious that he wanted to eat with her.

None of them had brought up what happened last night and they were both fine with pretending that it hadn't happened. Imani still felt mortified and she did her best to conceal it but it was still a little bit obvious to Lucas because she jolted and let out a nervous laugh anytime his hand brushed hers.
