But that's not the only thing the Alpha wants from her. He also wants her heart.

Lucas was extremely shocked and didn't know exactly how to react while he listened to the beating of her heart. "What the hell?" he muttered under his breath as he was still working on believing what he was seeing.

"Lucas," she said, pressing a hand to the side of her head and squinting at him. She groaned as she shakily got to her feet before she began to fall forward and he instantly snapped into action, rushing to her side and catching her before she hit the ground.

He slowly lowered himself to the ground with her in his arms as she let out a cough and opened her eyes properly, glancing at their surroundings. "You're... You're..." he trailed off as her eyes came back to him and ran his hand down the side of her face. "You're alive."

"What?" she asked, confusion clouding her features, as he cradled her while staring into her eyes. "I don't- What do you mean –" she was cut off when he suddenly pulled her into a hug, burying his face in her hair.
