Night Shifters

Imani slowly sat up in her bed and Lucas swallowed, focusing solely on her, while Lola and Desmond stared at him for a little while before Desmond left the room to go to the kitchen. Lucas knew when Desmond was about to open the door and he could have left before Desmond did but he decided not to because he had to apologize to Imani.

Lola got up from the bed, clutching her ringing phone in her hand, and pressed her lips to the side of Imani's head. "I'll be right back," she muttered and Imani nodded. She didn't want to leave her but she wanted to give them space so they could talk and she also needed to talk to Takeda to find out what the hell happened so she'd know who the fuck to call The Night Force on.

Lola walked around the bed and fixed Lucas a look when she walked past him and down the hallway while Imani pulled her knees up to her chin. Lucas pressed his lips together and inhaled slowly as Lola headed down the stairs.
