Desmond hadn't said anything since Lola told them that Tyrone was dead and Imani knew he was still trying to process that the man was really gone. It hadn't taken Lola much to convince him to stay but Lola's mind was still set on going to get Kyle and Imani didn't like that. Her main point was that she could run into Immith but Lola didn't think she would.

"Sweetheart... Even if I run into her, she isn't after me. She's after your parents," Lola said as her shoulders sagged but Imani didn't move away from the kitchen's doorway.

Imani was aware that Immith wasn't after Lola but she assumed that the witch was after her because she had tried to do something to her with that bone knife back at her place. If the witch gets Lola, she could use her to make Imani come over.
