Night Shifters

Imani stared at the door for a little while more after Lucas left the house and she turned around just in time to see Nikolay disappearing around a corner in the balcony overlooking the foyer. She had also seen him holding her mother's grimoire.

"Nik," she called out as she headed towards the stairs and quickly climbed it. She wanted to know why he was taking the grimoire with him and where he was taking it to.

"Nik," she called out again when she got to the top of the stairs and headed down the hallway he had taken. Why isn't he answering? Is he also mad at her... even more mad than he was before?

She quickened her pace to get to the end of the hall and glanced at her left and right. She didn't see him in either of the hallways and she decided to take the left. A couple of steps down the hall, she saw an open door that led to a room which had rows of bookshelves in it and stopped next to it.

The Safe
