"Wow," Lucas muttered because the safe they were talking about sounded like something that couldn't be broken into easily and yet a creature that could be swatted like a fly managed to take an important book from that safe.

Nikolay nodded as he processed what she said before the things Aryna had told him about Amira came to mind. "A witch from the Selise coven said she saw Amira using a page from the book of the damned. She had heard Amira repeating a particular word... Rauke."

He didn't know how Amira died fifty years ago so he wasn't sure if Nia was the one who killed her but he did think that Nia knew what Amira and the regents of the other coven had been up to and he wanted to know what they had planned to use the book of the damned for.
