Chapter One: The Last Jedi

Chapter One: The Last Jedi

---

The First Order reigns. Having decimated the peaceful Republic, Supreme Leader Snoke now deploys his merciless legions to seize military control of the galaxy.

Only General Leia Organa's band of Resistance fighters stand against the rising tyranny, certain that Jedi Master Luke Skywalker will return and restore a spark of hope to the fight.

But the Resistance has been exposed. As the First Order speeds toward the rebel base, the brave heroes mount a desperate escape...

---

Bini Filters's POV

I inhaled a deep breathe and let go of Ben's hand, backing away and glaring at him. Hating myself for allowing the doubts to fill my naive mind. What did I just-I just joined the dark side? This is bad. Very bad. I just joined the First Order and my former friend, who just killed his Father! What is wrong with me?

"You are disgusted...with...yourself and me..." Ben pointed out as he loomed over me. I took another step back, alarmed that he knew. But, then it hit me. He was reading my mind!

"Quit reading my mind!" I barked at him.

"You are my apprentice. I need to know your thoughts so I can guarantee you won't betray me." He replied.

"Ha! Some excuse. I bet Snoke doesn't read your mind!"

"He does."

"That's...ugh...That's not right! You know that right?" I replied in surprise. He ignored my concern and gestured to my satchel.

"Your first test. To see if you will be truly loyal to the dark side is too bleed your cyber crystal. Take out your broken lightsabre." He ordered. I hesitantly yanked out my broken sabre and took out the luckily still intact crystal that was shining blue.

I dropped the broken pieces to the floor and held the crystal up. Feeling scared and unsure. I looked back at Ben for directions.

"To bleed a crystal you must pour your darkest feelings into the crystal using the force. All of your rage, hate, fear and pain into it." He explained. "The process could take hours or mere minutes. I will allow you to use my meditation room to have some space. Come to me when you have completed the task."

Two stormtroopers entered the room and directed me out, I turned around and started moving to the exit. I turned one last time to see Ben with his back to me. Staring at his lightsabre. I left the room in silence with BB-8. Escorted down a corridor deeper and deeper into the ship.

I can do this. I. Can. Do. This.

---

Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix's POV

I marched across the terrain as I overseeded the frantic evacuation of the rebel base.

"We're not clear yet! There's still 30 pallets of cannon shells in C bunker." Jones said as the last transport ship landed.

"Forget the ammunition, there's no time. Just get everyone on the transport." I ordered, I looked up to the sky of a distant boom to see two resurgent class Star Destroyers appear in the cloudy sky, quickly joined by the Star Destroyer Finalizer. "Oh, no."

---

General Armitage Hux's POV

On board the bridge, Captain Peavey of the Finalizer watches the rebel ship in the distance in charge of the evacuation, the Raddus. The turned towards me with a scowl.

"We've caught them in the middle of their evacuation."

"I have my orders from Supreme Leader Snoke himself. This is where we snuff-out the resistance once and for all. Tell Captain Canady to prime his dreadnought. Incinerate their base, destroy their transports and obliterate their fleet." I barked.

(The enormous Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought known as the Fulminatrix, owned by CAPTAIN MODEN CANADY, pops from hyperspace and into the foreground from the far reaches of space. Two massive cannons slung beneath the ship's belly begin to lower and take aim.)

In the destroyer's bridge pit, a technician's eyes were monitoring a red shaped X on her radar screen.

"General, Resistance ship approaching. Launching shields in attack mode." She reported. I looked down at the screen from the top layer to see a single fighter on screen.

"A single light fighter?"

---

Poe Dameron's POV

I guided my X-wing to face off the Fulminatrix. BB-8 was behind me in space. He beeped in concern that this wasn't going to end well.

"Happy beeps here, buddy, come on." I insisted as I did a final system check. "We've pulled crazier stunts than this."

"Just for the record, Commander Dameron, I'm with the droid on this one." Leia agreed on the comlink.

"Thank you for your support, General." I said sarcastically. "Happy beeps. Attention!" I flicked a switch, connecting me to the ship ahead. "This is Commander Poe Dameron of the Republic fleet, I have an urgent communique for General Hux."

---

General Hux's POV

"Patch him through."

"This is General Hux of the First Order. The Republic is no more. Your fleet are rebel scum and war criminals. Tell your precious princess there will be no terms... there will be no surrender." I said over the comlink to Dameron.

"Hi, I'm holding for General Hugs."

"This is Hux." I barked in annoyance. "You and your friends are doomed! We will wipe your filth from the galaxy."

"OK, I'll hold."

...What?

"Hello?"

"Hello? Yup. I'm still here."

"Can you.... can he hear me?" I asked to the bridge pit. The officer Lank Paze nodded.

"Hugs?"

"He can." I muttered in annoyance.

"With an 'H'. Skinny guy. Kinda pasty."

"I can hear you. Can you hear me?"

"Look, I can't hold forever. If you reach him.... tell him Leia has an urgent message for him."

"I believe he's tooling with you, sir." Peavy pointed out beside me.

"About his mother." Dameron finished. I heard snickering and turned to see Ren's new apprentice grinning. Holding a blue crystal in her hand. She quickly turned and walked away, laughing. I felt enraged and pointed to the X-wing.

"Open fire!" I yelled.

---

Poe Dameron's POV

My display started beeping rapidly.

"BB-8, punch it!"

BB-8 beeped excitedly. As the X-wing's rear nozzles fire, it hurdles forward. The velocity causes BB-8's head to slip back from his round body and me to be pushed back in my seat as we speeded towards the Finalizar.

"He's going for the dreadnought."

"Ha! He's insane." I exclaimed.

---

Poe Dameron's POV

"Wa-hoo! That's got a kick." I exclaimed as we flew on top of the ship, starting to take out their surface cannons. "All right, taking out the cannons now. Tallie, start your approach."

"Copy that."

---

Bini Filter's POV

I stepped into the meditation room. Blocking out the sounds of explosions from the other ship. Other than that there was pure silence. I sat down in the middle of the empty room as BB-3 waited for me in the entrance. I held the crystal close and used the force to let out a small amount of hatred, fear, pain and hopelessness at one time.

(Flashback)

I grabbed my bag and walked into the streets of Naboo. Feeling hatred towards my family. They were scared of what I am and don't want me to improve on the force. I looked over to the teenager with dark hair, wearing Jedi robes and giving me a slight smile in the night.

"Are you ready to go, Filters?" He asked. I nodded and walked towards him, turning to take one last look at my, now, former home. Filled with people who don't care about me. People who won't have to deal with me anymore.

"Yes. Let's go Ben."

We headed down the street in silence. Past the Queen Amidala statue in the centre of town, towards the shipyards in the dead of night.

(Flashback)

I flinched at the pain as I poured it into the crystal, taking more and more of my painful memories. I opened my eyes, inraged at my former family, angry at how Luke treated Ben, how Ben treated me. I screamed as pain erupted in my body, I looked down at the crystal to see it slowly turning red.

---

General Hux's POV

I turned on the holographic system machine and connected to the dreadnought. Pointing to the X-wing firing on their ship.

"Captain Canady, why aren't you blasting that puny ship?" I demanded. His hologram appeared. Clearly annoyed with me.

"That 'puny ship' is too small and at too close range. We need to scramble our fighters! Five bloody minutes ago." He said, turning off the message system. I growled and barked orders at the officers.

---

Poe Dameron's POV

"There's one cannon left. And here comes the parade." I commented as TIE fighters started coming towards me. BB-8 chirped nervously as I swoopped past the ships as they started firing at us. "Yeah, yeah, I see 'em!"

One of the shots hit the ship's aft. Sparks flyed. The machinery sparked as I clicked the fire button. Nothing! No, no, no!

"No no. Dammit! BB-8, my weapon systems are down. We gotta take out that last cannon... or our bombers are toast. Make your magic work, buddy."

BB-8 drops down to a socket to a cable-filled hold. His head hovers from his body as he searches the craft compartment. Appendages on his telescoping arm plug damaged panel sections, but more begin to spark as BB-8 chirps nervously.

I looked towards the planet to see the Fulminatrix firing at the base with the canons as the last transport left the planet.

"The last transport is in the air, the evacuation is complete." Connix said over the intercom.

"You did it, Poe. Now get your squad back here so we can get out of this place." Leia ordered from the main ship.

"No, General... We can do this. We have... a chance to take down a dreadnought." I insisted. "These things are fleet killers. We can't let it get away."

"Disengage now... Commander, that is an order-"

I turned off the intercom and continued on towards the ship.

Poe flips a switch on his cockpit's console and continues on. A target lines up in my cockpit's viewfinder. Giving me a clear shot at the last cannon.

"Let's go, BB-8... It's now or never!"

BB-8 chirps as with inventiveness born of desperation, he has lowered the elevator he used to assume his station in the droid socket halfway, which requires that he erases three improper-operation alerts from the X-wing, and rolls into the cavity of the fuselage, as close to the short in the junction box as possible. His arm retracts into his body. Then, he uses the welding arm to swing the head out and down, like a man doffing his hat, shrieking. It smashes into the sparking junction box, primary photoreceptor swirling with electronic feedback.

I squeezed my weapon's trigger, destroying the last cannon on the Fulminatrix's hull.

"Yeeeaaahh-ho! All clear, bring the bombs!"

INT. STAR DESTROYER FULMINATRIX - BRIDGE

A squad of heavy bombers and A-wing ships known as Colbrat Squadron and Blue Squadron approaches the dreadnought.

"Bombers, keep that tight formation. Fighters, protect the bombers. It's not every day we get a shot at a dreadnought, so make this count." A pilot said over the intercom.

"Copy that, Blue Leader."

"If you get us there, we'll give it to them."

"Copy that."

"Fighters incoming."

"Gunners, look alive."

"Subfighters at 2-10!"

"They're getting in!"

"Form up!"

"They are everywhere! I can't--!"

"Here they come."

"Incoming fighters. Form up."

"Vector at attack speed."

"Pull up!"

"Flank right."

The squad came into heavy fire. Resulting in all the bombers but one getting destroyed.

"Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! We're going down!" I looked towards the canons to see them moving target the crusier.

"I see it. Tallie, they have targeted the fleet and begun the priming sequence." I reported over the comlink.

"Copy that. We are almost there. Bombardiers.... begin your drop sequence. NIX JERD: I've got a visual on the target. We are approaching the point of attack. The bombs are armed." Tallie replied.

"Paige, come in. We're over the target. Why aren't your bay doors open? You're the only bomber left. It's all down to you!" I said frantically over the com link. "Paige! Drop the payload, now!"

The bombs dropped crashing into the dreadnought, causing it to explode with the last bomber. We all quickly turned around and went to lightspeed. Escaping the first order ships.

---

General Hux's POV

"General, Supreme Leader Snoke... is making contact from the ship." An officer hesitantly relayed. "And Kylo Ren and Filters have left the ship during the battle."

"Excellent. I'll take it in my chambers." I replied. Suddenly his holographic head appeared in the middle of the bridge.

"General Hux." Snoke leered.

"Ah, good. Supreme leade-" He used the force to slam me to the floor and dragged me across the floor to face him on the other side.

"My disappointment... in your performance can not be overstated." He said slowly.

"They can't get away, Supreme Leader. We have them tied on the end of a string." I barked out as I got up slowly.
