"I didn't think it would be capable of that,"
Avalon sat on the chair in front of Marcello being checked on beforehand, Marcello took a sip of his coffee with Avalon placing her cup down and said, "My crystal talked to the shadow?"
"Yes it did and it stopped it as well,"
"I wonder, " He continued
Avalon stares up at him,
"Then spit it out, you know I can't read your mind," Avalon told him,
"The man that met you at the hill back when you woke up,"
Marcello stared deeply at Avalon in thought, why would he hear the man and why did he call the shadow Peter?
"The man might have been him,"
Marcello snapped out of his thought by Avalon who was looking at the crystal on the table beside them, she remembered the angel and Antony talking with her and thought about it until he came into her room asking to talk with her,
"If that is what you believe helped you, then I will ask him," Avalon said
"What do you mean by that?"
Marcello stares at her worried while Avalon tries to settle his worries by saying, "I'm fine Marcello, I talked to him when I was asleep,"
Avalon takes a moment after hearing what she said and thinks, "That was not the best way to say that Avalon,"
He sat there with wide eyes before having memories flow back to him, it's not shocking after they dealt with a woman with a tiger complex and then having to deal with a man with after issue, Marcello takes his drink before letting out, "I'm not shocked,"
Avalon nods,
"We are used to this by now. aren't we?" Avalon asked
"I believe so,"
Marcello saw Avalon stare at the crystal. He starts to wonder, "It had the same design that Avalon has... "
"What going through your mind Mar,"
Marcello looked back at Avalon, she placed the cup on the table and reached out to grab the crystal,
"I know this might sound weird with all the thing that has happened,"
She grabbed it and looked over it having a familiar heat coming off of it, it glowed showing the tattoos that she had on her,
"It has the same design as you have on your body," Marcello said
"Yes,"
She looked it over with a smile, she had something new to discover… it's better than sitting here all day looking out the window, but then she frowned. That also meant that she was far off from having a normal life. Marcello noticed this and was about to comfort her, but she stopped him,
"You don't have to comfort me, Marcello. I not sure why I have this,"
"But I will do what I must," Avalon continued
"It shouldn't be on you," Marcello said
"That won't matter," Avalon let out
She knew that she couldn't do much about it however if she had to fight Blake again... she would not be missing this time. But now she still has to deal with the problem at hand,
"The task at hand is what happened with the shadow and the crystal," Avalon said
"If that is what you wish," Marcello let out,
"If it was Antony who spooked the shadow then I will talk with him, other than that Blake now has Maxine and..."
The room got quiet as Avalon forgot Martha's name,
"It's Martha," Marcello said
"If he has them. then it's only a matter of time before he tries to bring back the mafia," Marcello said
"Do they have any form of rebuild?" Avalon asked
"I heard that Maxine has tried to build back the gang, but the fruits of her labor have yet to come out," Marcello said
"Come out? You said that they had their attempts stopped,"
"Yes, I have,"
Marcello knew something was off about this. having the information brought to him of their attempts and having to ring them out, it was not easy, but it was done, he hoped.
"You're not certain of it," Avalon said
"I'm not," He sighed
Avalon leaned back in her chair watching Marcello place his hands over his face, Avalon knew the stress of this job, but she never liked when people overworked themselves or saw them suffer.
"Marcello,"
He put his hands away, staring at Avalon with a deep Violet shining with concern. With thoughts swirling in his head. What would happen if he couldn't keep up with work and made sure that what died too many years ago stayed dead, she might go missing again.
"Marcello,"
He got out of his head and saw soft silver eyes staring back at him, Avalon knew those thoughts well. they have haunted her for years,
"Don't let your mind control you, that what will harm you the most," Avalon told him,
"You are right," Marcello said
Avalon let out a laugh, "I already know that one,"
"Don't be so prideful Avalon that might be your downfall," Marcello said
Avalon got up from her chair and looked at the time, it was almost time for the nurse to check on her, She saw that Marcello had stood up as well,
"Then I hope you are the one to pick me up,"
The door opened with the nurse walked in, she smiled at them both only to find them in a comprising situation, Marcello had a red blush on his face while Avalon stood in front of him smiling at the woman,
"Hi Margret how are you," Avalon said
"I'm doing well, I wasn't interrupting something, was I?" She asked
"I was hope..."
"Nothing was interrupted," Marcello cut her off,
The nurse didn't quite believe Marcello, but she had her job to do,
"I need to check on him and then I will check on you, Avalon,"
She went to Marcello and sat him down while he stared at Avalon giving him a smirk, he huffed as the nurse placed a pressure cuff on his arm, and he laid his head on his hand looking away from Clover.
"I see that your blood pressure is better,"
She put the cuff away and grabbed some bandages, Avalon looked at Marcello before turning to the nurse wrapping new bandages on his wounds,
"Has his blood pressure been worse?" Avalon asked
"It was but it has been getting better for the past two weeks,"
The nurse started to pack her things while Avalon stared at Marcello worried, The nurse went up to Avalon with the blood pressure cuff Marcello asked the nurse,
"Is there any word on my team?"
"They now have their cognition back,"
She glanced at Avalon who was watching her placed the cuff off of her,
"With the help of the crystals that this young lady gave,"
The nurse smiled before grabbing her bag and told them,
"You two are healthy but I would like fewer injuries, Marcello," She told him
"Yes Margret," He smiled.
Margret left them alone, Avalon sat in her chair while Marcello laid back in his chair knowing he would have to get up and deal with Blake,
"You shouldn't let it get in your head," Avalon said
"I know... but you do the same hypocrite," Marcello said
"Yes, I do,"
She got up from her spot and walked up to the door, she opened it and then looked behind her at him,
"Salvatore won't like it if we're late,"
Marcello chuckled and got up, following her.
Blake looked over at the window with the sun out, he closed his eyes and remembered what he sent the shadow to do,
"Shadow,"
It flew past his shoulder stopping in front of his feet, the shadow rested after dealing with Peter and now had his energy back,
"Yes master," It muttered
Blake sat back in his chair, looking down at the shadow, he had a feeling Maxine might disappoint him again, however, he wanted to test the shadow,
"I want you to check how Maxine is doing with the task I gave her,"
"If that is what you want to master,"
The shadow went to the window and threw it open while flying away, closing the window behind it, Blake sighed looking over at the piece of wood in deep thought.
"Mother,"
Blake felt a force over by the table, he glanced behind him and saw a flash of white sparks behind him until his mother appeared with a small smile on her face,
"Blake, what is it?" Rhina asked
Rhina walks up to him having not felt the sun in years, Blake glances beside him and sees how happy it made her.
"The shadow worries me,"
"Didn't it worry you before?" Rhina asked
"Yes, it has, however this time it seems to be something from inside the shadow," Blake said
"Well has the shadow been acting weird as of the last time we talked?" Rhina asked
"It was acting fine until last night. it stayed on the floor not hearing me but it twisted and turned until it stopped, and he answered,"
Rhina hummed, she knew that the first time she met Blake's shadow it was fine until something concerned her, it acted on its own accord not caring at first what Blake would do to it,
"Do you think it may be something from the past," Blake asked
"It might," Rhina said
"For that, we would have to look into the past to find answers," Rhina continued
Blake turned to her with confusion written on his face, he then said, "How do we do that?"
She smiled at his question and pulled her hand up, letting her fog out of her hand with a gray spark coming out of it. The fog pooled at their feet while Rhian told him,
"This will take up to the past,"
It jolted around them swirling until it evaporated leaving the room empty, Blake had closed his eyes,
"Blake you can open your eyes,"
He opened his eyes, looked around him, and saw that the yard looked familiar. with the house in the middle being his old home.
"This is my past if you want we can skip it," Rhina said
"Yes," Blake said
The fog swirls around them again, bringing them deeper into the past. While the shadow felt Blake's energy was far off.
"Hey shadow what are you floating around," Maxine yelled
The shadow knew Blake might look into the past, but it didn't believe he would go to his mother first. The shadow kept hearing Maxine yell out to him until she decided to stop,
The shadow kept sensing his master's energy far off but needed to do as he commanded. It flew down to Maxine, who was talking with a woman,
"He sent me to watch over your task,"
The woman looked scared at the shadow, while Maxine glared at the shadow, not believing that it would harm her if Blake needed her around,
"So, far we have the body he will need to fulfill his plan," Maxine told him,
"Then, what about the money?"
"It will be done soon..." Maxine is cut off by the woman,
"There might be a problem with that,"
"And that would be?" The shadow asked
"It was found out by Shepherd and is now being cleared by my team,"
"How much time should you need," Maxine asked
"I will need an hour if we are late. but they might need someone to watch over them,"
