"Afterward, they taught me how to better use her virtue,"
She raised her hand before them, her hand glowing more with heat coming from her hand, They stared at her hand when a fire appers in her hand as a ball. Luke jolted back surprised, he thought it would be her crystals or the line of light she does, but a ball of fire that wasn't exspeced. Luke watched the flames flicker in the ball, its colorful just like the color Sandel gave her, He leaned closer, letting out,
"You learned from her to make this,"
Avalon glanced at him away from the fire, a weary grin on her face as she told him,
"More than this, but yes, they didn't give me rest, but its worth what i can do now,"
Damein leaned closer, moving his hand near it. The heat from it could be confused for a standard heater. He hummed, leaning closer to the fire, and Avalon noticed. She glanced at him and said
"It's not as hot as it can be,"
"Can it get hotter?" Damein asked
Avalon nodded bursting the bubble, the fire moved around her hand burning brighter, the heat Damein felt it burning his hand and pulled back his hand, he saw his hand pink like it burned from the fire. But her hand was fine, its as if she can bend the fire at her will, Avalon peered at Luke, he's at awe at the fire in her palm, Avalon moved it to her other hand with a small grin on her face,
"It's only a small flame, but i can tame it now more than i used to,"
Avalon blew away the fire, staring at them both. They had their reactions, but they were amazed. They knew she strongly just didn't see all that she was able to do. Damein knew more of what she's able to do than Luke, but he would find out sooner or later.
"Avalon, how long have you kept this strength, this virtue limited?" Luke asked
Avalon perred at him with her grin growing,
"Only for a little while, Luke,"
She let out a giggle, looking at the both of them calmly. She didn't want to scare them, did she?
"A small time to keep this a secret, Avalon. How strong are you?" Damien inquired
Avalon turned to him, and another giggle escaped her lip when she laid back down on the bed
"You'll find out,"
Avalon winked at them, and Damein chuckled at her while Luke let out a frustrated sigh. How is he going to watch the both of them if trouble follows them around. Luke stopped hearing the door open by Liz, Damein, Avalon and Luke stared at her stunned, she held a tray of food with a board in her other hand, Liz glanced at Damein and Luke then to Avalon noticing she got up,
"Look like I came late, Luke, Damien, what happened?"
Liz set the tray in Avalon's lap, frighting her slightly, Avalon grabbed it and sat up, glancing at the tray, then at Liz. She looked down at Avalon, seemingly angry, but she was relieved. Avalon didn't die. That was an overwhelming relief on her. It was better than what she just walked away from.
"How was your rest, Avalon?"
"It was... eventful,"
"Nightmare?"
Liz walked to where Luke is handing him some papers, Luke stared at her skeptical but read it anyways, but before he did Liz glared at him moving her finger to her lips, Luke raised a brow and went to read it, Liz turned to Damein and Avalon starting back at her suspicious.
"Whats with the looks?"
"Those papers, what are they?"
Liz hid her shock, showing them a calm and collected. She turned to them and said, "You can see it after he's done, but i can tell you it now,"
"That sounds good,"
Avalon muttered, munching on her sandwich and staring up at her with some food on the end of her mouth, Liz sighed, taking a napkin from the side table and giving it to Avalon, Liz glanced at Damein saying,
"We have the recovered some of our people. There been only one death,"
Damein stared at her grim, trying to hide it but fails, he glares at Liz on accident, Liz saw it and wasn't bothered by him, but Avalon stopped eating, staring at them sadden. Liz glanced at the two before looking at Luke, who's petrified. His face horrified, gripping at the paper to the point of tearing, Liz quick to take it away, grabbed it, and Luke held on to it. He looked up at her frightened
"I know you're scared, Luke, but it what we have found,"
Luke unintentionally let go of it and Liz took it, She held it for Damein to grab and he did, reading it with Avalon trying to look over his shoulder, but her chest hurt, she sat back staring at Damein about to read it but Liz stop her by saying,
"You will know after him, but Avalon, you're not in good condition to be stressed about this,"
"It's weird supernatural shit isn't it?"
Liz exasperated, trying to keep it hidden, and she did Avalon didn't notice a thing, but Luke flinched at her question, and Avalon noticed, she's getting closer to it.
"It is,"
"It from the light i made,"
Liz and Luke looked at her, she's able to figure out what they were talking about but not the full story, not what happened to him. Liz went to say, but Damein set the papers in Avalon's lap, She glanced at the papers, reading out loud,
"Marcello Sickle pronounced dead,"
Avalon picked it up, reading through it, with Luke trying to talk her out of it, he reach over to her, saying,
"You shouldn't stress yourself Avalon, you dont have to read it..."
"Luke stop,"
Luke looks to Damein, he staring at the ground, his hair covering his eyes, and his voice sounds void. his arms over his chest gripping at each arm, tightly, Luke slumped into his chair staring at him before at his hands. This was it he was.
"He's dead?"
Avalon let out setting the paper in Liz's hand. She took it, placing it in her jaket, and she peers at her. She looked sadden by what she read but her eyes. Broken, she's broken.
"I wouldn't say dead just yet,"
The three of them stared at her, confused. It said he was dead, why would she say that. Liz saw the stares she was getting from them, but Liz looked at Avalon, inspecting her, she confused she seemed to be fine. She gusse that they could know what had happened,
"Those papers are real but not true,"
They stared at Liz dumbfounded, relived, shocked, but most of all hopeful, Damein lifts his head glaring at her and Luke sat up on the edg of his seat, they don't want to belive he still alive but if there's a way for him to be, then be so. Don't give them false hope. Avalon held her chest, staring at her with such intensity it could move her, could not would.
"He doesn't have a heartbeat, but he's breathing."
"What?"
"When i was in the lab with his body it was strange, i was looking over some paper you gave me Luke when he moved, i went to check the bag and he's there, breathing. But his heart still stood still,"
LIz remember looking over his body starting to prepare him, she looked at her papers when she hears his bag move, Liz dropped the papers and walked to the bag she opened the bag to find him breathing, she opened the bag more to find his right hand twitching, Liz didn't realize she staring away from them as Damein asked her,
"Are you watching him?"
"We are,"
"How has he been,"
"His heartbeat is still missing, but his waves seem to be fine. His body is still functioning,"
The room got quiet with utter confusion. He's alive but in a coma. Damein sighed, rubbing his four head. Luke, unable for words, let out a chuckle that sounded like a sob. He leaned back, looking up thankful. He wasn't dead. Avalon held onto the bed looking off, and that beaken of light appeared in her vision again. His body is under it, her eyes burned trying to look closer at his heart, but she closed her eyes, rubbing them, Avalon felt Damein touch her shoulder,
"Avalon?"
She moved her hand away from her eyes. She looked to Damein and had a strianed smile patting his hand,
"I'm fine,"
Avalon truned to Liz undeterred, something happened to his heart in that beam, but what it was is still unknown.
"Have you found anything wrong with his heart, Liz?"
"I have, but in the lab, there still wating for the exrays,"
Liz let out, her gaze is dark filled with anxiety. She's seen some of them, but they needed more time to look it over, Liz looked to Avalon, and she is waiting for her to answer that she couldn't quite make it yet,
"I can't show you just yet, but after today, i will,"
Her face grimed with the thought of what she said next,
"But his heart,"
