#Chapter 4

*Rose's POV*

After I had explained about Sev, we had all gone to the Great Hall for breakfast.

It hadn't been too bad.

Once we wete done, Crabbe, Goyle, Draco, Pansy and I stood up from the Slytherin table to go towards our first class.

We were very early, so we sat on a huge rock, waiting.

I took out my Potions book and sweets that I took from the train and started to read it while Draco told some dad jokes.

I was laughing at one when I heard an angry voice shout, "Hey!"

Looking up from my book, I saw that it was Ron and Harry.

We rolled our eyes as they came closer. Draco, Crabbe and Goyle sniggered. I stood up to see why they had interrupted us.

"Stay away from my sister Malfoy!"

I snorted.

"Yeah, stay away from her!" Harry added.

Wait what?! Why would he care?

"First of all, Ronald, your family disowned me, so I am no longer your sister. Second of all, you do not control me," I say, not knowing where my confidence was coming from.

"Just don't stay close to Malfoy," Ron replied through gritted teeth.

I went near Draco which annoyed Ron. They all started to get aggressive. I just shrugged and went back to sitting on the rock to continue with my reading and eating sweets.

Luckily class started, so there wasn't much wounds except some small bruises here and there.

In Flying Class, we learned how to 'take care' of our brooms, and we even got them to do commands.

"Up."

Mine and Harry's broom went flying up. After a few tries Draco and Pansy got it, Cranberry and Goyle still failing.

I was looking at other people when I caught the broom hit Ron's face, making me laugh very hard.

Soon it was time to mount our brooms.

Unfortunately, Neville's broom got out of control and he had to be taken to the hospital wing. I only felt a little bad for him because he was kind to me on train, but I didn't really care.

Hermione looked terrified, like she was happy to keep her feet on the ground. I went towards her and rubbed her back. She looked at me and smiled while the other Gryffindors gasped.

I rolled my eyes at them.

"Hey look what Longbottoms dropped," I heard Draco say. It was some kind of ball... I couldn't remember it's name, but it looked familiar.

"Give it back Malfoy!" Harry defended.

Everything happened so fast, Draco was up in the air. Harry was going to go up, but Hermione was stopping him.

Harry still went to chase Draco.

I gasped, I needed to do something, Draco was my friend.

"Draco!"I grabbed my broom, but a hand stopped me. It was Hermione's, she had tears in her eyes.

"Please, don't Rose, what if you get hurt? I can't let you go."

I sighed,"But Draco is my friend, I have too."

I got on my broom, surprisingly, I knew what to do. I chased Harry, who suddenly darted to catch the round object. I flew towards Draco,"Are you alright?"

He nodded,"Yeah."

"Mr. Potter!" It was McGonagall.

"Miss. Rose!" Uh oh Severus.

"Never. In. My. Life."

"You could have gotten hurt!"

We were told to follow them. We went to the DADA room.

"Professor Quirell, may I please borrow Wood."

"And may I borrow Flint."

Wood, Flint... What were they, some kind of cane to hit Harry and I?

"Professor Snape, I didn't-" I got cut off by his sharp look.

It turned out that Wood and Flint were two captains of the Quidditch house teams.

I sighed in relief.

Severus took us to an empty classroom, leaving McGonagall, Harry and Wood.

"Flint, the is Rose Weasley," Sev said introducing me.

Flint grunted like a troll.

"I saw her fly so fast on the school broom. She is a natural, perfect for a chaser."

Flint eyed me,"I could have her on the team, but who says she won't help those Gryffindors? I saw her hanging out with one of them."

I snorted,"Help the Gryffindors, are you kidding me? Never in my life."

Just because I was friends with Hermione, it didn't mean I was going to take down the opportunity that could increase my popularity.

"Fine then. Your on the team, you betray us, your out, got it?" He said firmly.

I nodded.

I was allowed to go back to my class, but there was not much point because Madam Hooch still hadn't arrived from the hospital wing.

I ran towards Hermione and hugged her because I had felt like it.

Everyone around us gasped, and I felt like they were overreacting.

"Oh my gosh," I heard Pansy say.

"What was that for?" Draco said.

I turned around to look at him,"what was what for?"

"You betrayed us Slytherins, you hugged that filthy little mudbl-"

"Stop!" I shouted,"Don't you dare say that about Hermione! She is my best friend, and I don't care what house she is in."

I looked at Hermione,"She was the one who stayed with me when I got kicked out of my family. She made me happy, and showed me what a friend is. She taught me how to not judge people no matter what house they are in."

Tears were pouring out of my eyes, I didn't know why, but I made no effort to stop them.

I looked at Ron,"When I was part of the Weasley family, all I learnt was that Gryffindors and Slytherins never got together. But that's not true."

The bell rang and I left them all, I stomped off to Potions class with Hermione trailing after me.

"Rose! Thank you," she said, but I ignored her.

I opened the door entering the classroom. She came in with me and hugged me. I cried on her shoulder.

"Its alright Rose, don't worry," she said rubbing my back.

"I don't even know why I am crying," I whispered. She gave a light laugh.

"What happened," I heard Severus's stern voice say.

I went to wash up in my room as  Hermione explained to Sev about what had happened.

Students starting pouring in, so I took my seat. Draco came and sat next to me.

"I am sorry," he whispered. I nodded back excepting his apology. Sev started the register and stopped at Harry's name.

"Ah yes," he said softly,"Harry Potter. Our new celebrity"

I smirked while Draco, sniggered. Sev went on and on for a whole minute about what we were going to learn.

Then he suddenly said, "Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

I went deep into my thoughts trying to remember the answer.

Hermione had her hand raised up, but Sev just ignored it.

"I don't know, sir," Harry said, making me smirk, 'the bly who loved' was popular for no reason at all.

"Lets try again, Potter. Where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?"

I tried remembering again. Sev ignored Hermione's hand once more.

"What is the difference, Potter, between monkshood and wolfsbane?"

At this point Hermione was standing up, why wasn't Sev choosing her?

"I don't know," Harry said quietly,"I think Hermione does, why don't you ask her?"

A few people laughed, I just grinned not wanting to get in trouble.

"Sit down," Sev snapped at Hermione. He turned to me and I got the weird feeling inside my head,"Miss Rose, could you tell me the answers please."

I sighed,"Asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the draught of living and death. A bezoar is a stone taken from a goats stomach. As for Wolfsbane and monkshood, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name aconite."

"Good," he looked around,"Well, why aren't you writing that down?"

The rest of the potions class was pretty boring, Neville messed up his potion, I earned my house five points.

School had finished, and it was almost

almost time for my second lesson with Sev.

I managed to finish my new song earlier than the last lesson, and I was very proud of it.

I promised myself that I would sing it to Hermione the next day, as it was for her.
