Did I Scare You? Part 2

--The Nydisian Kingdom, Eraregord, Othes Forest--

Lucian stopped dead in his tracks and turned around to face the petite girl that was standing behind him. His entire frame towered over her and his dark red eyes narrowed, "Are you offering?"

Katherine stammered back in fear looking straight at Lucian as his red eyes held a glint of hunger. She could feel her heart was about to leap out of her chest, Lucian terrified her to the core, something he was well aware of.

Llewellyn chuckled looking at Katherine in disarray. "I'll be back," Lucian said to Katherine before turning to Llewellyn. "Go towards the lake, we'll camp there for the night," He walked off towards the woods and was soon out of sight.

Katherine and Llewellyn continued heading towards the lake that slowly became visible in the far distance.

"You did good today," She looked up at Llewellyn and smiled knowing that he was referring to her training, at least he acknowledged her efforts. "Lucian is right however, you're human,"

She knew being human was already putting her at a disadvantage but Lucian seemed to think he could still train her despite it. "I tried blocking against him today," Her efforts were futile.

Katherine began to question her presence here. To her, Lucian was more suited for the throne, if anything she wanted him to have it. It would mean her returning back to the life she knows and wants.

As they approached the lake, Llewellyn turned to the brunette and said, "Don't just block, deflect your opponent's attack, use their own force against them,"

Llewellyn dropped his bag and gestured for Katherine to do the same. "Follow my arms, as I'm throwing a punch use your arms to redirect my force, don't try and absorb it all the time by just blocking."

Katherine followed his arm motion as Llewellyn demonstrated how to redirect a blow. She kept practicing the arm movement in front of him and got the reassurance she needed after he nodded a few times indicating she was doing it right.

She felt slightly proud of herself and broke out into a smile. "Good girl," Llewellyn patted her head.

"Build the fire, I'll go gather some sticks," Llewellyn walked off and his body soon disappeared into the surrounding trees.

Katherine gulped a little because he was already gone before she could tell him that she had no idea how to build a fire.

She awkwardly grabbed two of the longest sticks she could find on the ground and began to rub them together, unsure of what she was doing.

Several minutes had passed and all Katherine managed to achieve were blistered palms, sweating armpits and warm sticks.

She heard some ruffling in the bushes which made her stop what she was doing, "Llewellyn?" Katherine called out thinking it was him, when no response followed she began to feel weary.

"Llewellyn?" She called out again but instead, she got a glimpse of faint red eyes in the midst of the green lush trees.

Katherine slowly stood up and started backing away from the direction where she momentarily saw red eyes. She wasn't sure if she imagined it but she continued walking backwards until she backed into a hard chest.

"Did I scare you?" Katherine turned around and was filled with relief when she saw it was Llewellyn. She quickly shook her head and Llewellyn walked past her to where he had dropped his things.

Katherine was still a bit unsure of what she saw but what frightened her the most was that she saw the red eyes coming from the opposite direction.
