Chapter Sixty-Nine: The Dwarf of Detroit

Everyone seemed to calm a bit as they watched Kat standing over Dirt's father, with the exception of Rebekah who'd slowly gotten to her feet to look around as she seemed to sense something was off. Yet when she realized what it was it was too late for her to warn him, for just as they made eye contact the room was filled in a binding flash of red light followed by a loud ear ringing bang.

Through ringing ears everyone could hear a sinister chuckle yet none of them could yet see for the flash had temporarily blinded everyone. Well everyone except for Dirt's father and Rebekah, who'd had enough time to shield herself from the blast's effects. There was also Katherine or should be yet for some odd reason Rebekah hasn't been able to sense her recently.

"What? How? Impossible!" exclaimed Dirt's Father thus causing Rebekah to turn and face him and Kat who was oddly still standing in front of him yet with his sword held at a more defensive position.
