Kies saw the magic gather around him and flinched. It felt similar to what he had experienced before in the forest. Kies closed his eyes and readied himself for the pain that was going to hit him. Moments passed and Kies felt nothing. He opened his eyes again and saw that the magic circle was still glowing. Instead of feeling pain like he expected he would, he felt something else. He felt as if some sort of burden was being lifted off from him. He also felt an unusual feeling in his legs and looked down and saw that the arrows were disintegrating.
"Only the first seal hurts," Tonahl explained. "The first seal prevents our crystals from gathering magic entirely and lifting it caused a bunch of magic to surge into your crystal which is why it hurt. The second seal limits how much magic we can gather, the third seal limits how the speed at which we can gather magic. As for the last seal..."
Before Tonahl could finish his sentence, he suddenly fell over. Ammine quickly reacted and caught him before he hit the floor. "What's wrong?" Kies asked through the magic circle.
Ammine checked his body for any abnormalities. She sensed that he wasn't emitting any magic. She quickly poured some of her magic energy into him, unsure if it would do anything. Tonahl flinched briefly and then went still again. A few seconds went by as Ammine continued to channel her magic into Tonahl.
A few more seconds passed by and Ammine was out of magic energy. She stopped and started to breathe heavily as she was exhausted from using up all her magic. She laid Tonahl on the ground and sat down on the ground beside him. The moment that the magic circle finished whatever it was doing, the walls around it dropped and Kies immediately jumped out and rushed over to Tonahl.
Although Kies had only just recently met Tonahl, he felt a sense of attachment to him. Kies didn't understand why. It was strange. It was only a few hours ago that he was living as a human and he felt more intimate with Tonahl than he ever did any of the humans. Other than the exception of Nina of course.
Tonahl suddenly flinched again and he opened his mouth to say something but it was too low for Kies to hear. Kies bent down and placed his ear directly over Tonahl's mouth to hear what Tonahl was trying to say. Tonahl muttered a single word to Kies and then went silent.

The day had finally come to an end. The sun was setting and Nina was famished. She hadn't eaten anything all day and wanted to go home. She heard that the kingdoms had agreed to a truce, and was anxious to go home. She was hoping that Kies was already there waiting for her.
"You can go home now Miss Nina." Heaths walked up to her and explained that other mages would take their shifts now that it was about to turn dark. He then goes on to say, "I heard that there was a rumor going around that demons interfered with the battle, and that was the reason for the truce."
"Demons? What were they trying to do."
"I don't know, but I think you should go home straight away."
"Alright then, I guess I'll head home right now. Good night Heaths." Nina said goodbye to him and started walking away.
But after taking a few steps, Heaths called out to her again. "Oh, one more thing before you go Miss Nina, I also heard that there is going to be an uprising later tonight. The people had had enough with the king and the council. They're planning to overthrow them and have the prince take the throne. You're a noble so you need to be careful."
After hearing what Heaths said, Nina instantly thought of her father who was part of the council. Worry started to fill her mind. "Thank you Heaths." Nina hurried off back home. She prayed that her father was home early tonight and that Kies was also there.
