There was a lot of commotion on the streets as the crowd gathered on the sides and watched as something came through. Nina was on her way to visit the soldier's memorial graveyard when she got caught up in. Unable to get around, she could only stand behind the gasping spectators and try to see for herself what was going on.
"There's so many of them... Where are they going?"
"They're going that way. What's in that direction?"
"Hey careful, don't block their path!"
The people talk amongst each other but Nina couldn't figure out who or what they were referring to when they said "them" since no one specified who "they" were. But using her prior knowledge, the only other time she saw something like this was with the soldiers when they were moving in or out of Silverfield. Was that what was happening?
Nina was far too short to see over the crowd of people and there was no gap in between for her to peek through either. She couldn't see if her assumption was correct. Struggle all she might but she wasn't going to get a clear look at what was going on.
Nina gave up on trying to see for herself and tapped the back of a random pedestrian. "What is it young lady?" a tall man turned around and looked down at her, not knowing what her dilemma might be.
"What's going on?"
"Oh. Uh, I don't know exactly either. It's best to have a see for yourself." The man politely moved back and let Nina take his place in the crowd so that she can get a gander at what it is that is drawing everyone's attention.
In the center of the street, there are a bunch of people dressed in white robes carrying long staffs. They had the insignia of the church etched into their clothes. "Priests?" What are they doing out here? Aren't they suppose to be at the clinic or church healing the injured soldiers. But then again, it has been some time since the battle already. The soldiers were probably all well enough to get back on their feet now.
"Hey, isn't that a cardinal?"
In the very back of the group behind all the priests was an old man carrying a giant chalice in his hands. The chalice contained a shiny white liquid that could only be holy water. It was usually used to kill undead or deal with demons. And since the undead hadn't been active for years now, it could only mean one thing. They were looking for demons.
No, it looked like they already knew where they were going. They were walking with a purpose. They knew where the demons were.

Falte ran into the slums shouting frantically at the top of his lungs, "We have trouble!"
"Can you quiet the h*ll down!? I'm trying to rest here!" Ammine walked out of her house, glaring angrily at Falte who just came barging into the place yelling at the top of his lungs and disturbing her.
"Oh? I'm so sorry that I woke up you, but there's this small little problem that happens to be marching its way to us right now."
"What problem?"
Neither Kies nor Ammine understood what Falte was getting at since the two of them had been here the entire time doing nothing. Falte went into town to buy food and came back looking all panicked for some reason that they couldn't guess.
"We won't know unless you tell us."
"Oh right." Falte handed the things he was carrying to Kies before beginning to tell them what he saw. "There is this group of people dressed in all white approaching this place right now."
"And what about them? I don't see a problem."
"Have you ever tried thinking before speaking?"
"What are you trying to tell me? That they know where we are now? We should've expected that when Kies let those assassins escape. What made you think that they didn't report us to the soldiers. And even if they didn't, there is no way that no one saw the light last night. That spell went off during the night!" Ammine repeated again. "If it had been in the morning or afternoon when the sun was still out, we'd maybe be fine, but it was after the sun had set!"
"Ah, good point," Falte just realized. They were pretty much bound to have been found after what happened. "So what do we do now captain? Do we grab the dragon and get our *sses out of here?"
"It's just a bunch of people in white clothes. What's so terrifying about them?"
"What? Do you really think I would run away with my tails between my legs if we stood a chance? I'll tell you who they are. They're from the church. They're the d*mned pope's demon hunters. In other words, what they specialize in doing is killing us!"
"Demon hunters? Wait, you don't actually mean-"
"Do I need to repeat myself? Yes, it's them! You think I would forget that symbol?"
"The what now?" Kies didn't know what the two were talking about but they look rather scared of what was coming.
Falte looked at Ammine. "You want to explain this to him?"
"They are people that can use powerful light magic," she put it simply for Kies. Dark magic and light magic were natural enemies and canceled each other out. However, light magic had the advantage over dark since its spells usually had defensive properties and lasted a certain duration whereas dark magic was primarily offensive spells that did the opposite.
"Magic much more powerful than that of those two light mages you fought against yesterday," Falte added. The church was no joke. They had some powerful people hiding in it. "So yeah. Anyway, back to what I was asking, what's the plan? Do we want to leave now, or do we want to be brave and try to fight them?" Though Falte said that, the only option they really had was to run.
But Kies disagreed with it. He had many reasons to stay here. Not only did he want... No, not only did he need to find out about his past, but there was something else he needed to confirm as well. Arc told him something yesterday night and he couldn't believe his ears when he heard it. He needed to see with his own eyes if what Arc said was true or not.
