Chapter 3: Low Risk, High Reward

"Alright, Kin! Let's go all out!"
Kisho Energetically Shouted right outside the Guild.
"Yes, Kisho-san..."
Kin sais without the slightest bit of excitement in his face.
"Now... go pick a quest that has High Reward, I'm going to wait here." Said Kisho as he sat in one of the chairs at the lounge.
"Yes, Kisho-san..."
Kin walked up to the Quest Board and searched for the quest that has the Highest Reward.
"Hmm... Goblins, Orcs, not enough... Giant Centipede, Bandits, also not enough. Ah! Kisho-san, come and take a look at this!"
"What is it?" Kisho asked.
"A Black-Scaled Dragon, 25 Platinum Coins."
"Where is it located?"
"Said here: Velenum, Gates of the Abyss?"
"Gates of the Abyss, huh? We might have a hard time stepping foot there."
"Kisho-san... D-don't tell me we're going into the Abyss...?"
"Pfft— HAHAHAHA! Of course not, Idiot. It's just the name… it's because in the Middle of the mountain, there is a hole so deep, that you'll have to fall for 41 Seconds to reach the bottom. I know this because Fuji-kun and I solved it."
"T-then we're not going into the Abyss?"
"I already said no, right."
◤Gates of the Abyss, 1:43 PM◢
They've arrived at the Gate of the Abyss in Velenum. Kin scouted for the Black-Scaled Dragon, While Kisho is relaxing eating snacks amd reading books.
"Kisho-san... Are you not going help me?"
said Kin in a loud voice.
"Huh? Of course, I'll help you... Later..."
"Then get up and help search for it!"
Kin yelled.
"Don't sweat it, Kin. It'll be here in a few seconds."
"Look, it's already here."
Said Kisho as he pointed at something.
They saw the Dragon, The Huge Black Dragon, flying towards their Direction at High speed.
Kin was really excited to fight such a Strong and Massive Opponent. However, that doesn't compare to Kisho's Excitement. The Dragon was at least a 200 meters away, but there was Kisho, Barely Containing his Thirst for Battle.
Kin let out a sigh and said: "I thought he'd give me this one."
Kin sat down and watched Kisho reap the Dragon from the outside and inside... After a little while, they went back to the guild to find other High Reward Quests.
They found a bunch of them, Kin was looking forward to fight, but the same thing happened; Kisho was always going all out, even if he doesn't have to.
"Kisho-san, could you let me fight, for once?"
"Oh— you wanted to fight? You should've said so! Here... I saved this Orc for you! Tada!"
"A-a Single Orc? Jeez, I'm not Elite-tier anymore, Kisho-san."
Said Kin.
"Ah... Well, in that case, you can do the next quest alone, I'll head to Eli-kun's House. Becareful, Kin. Choose some Low Risk, High Reward Quests. you don't want to be yelled at, right?"
Kin asked Kisho for the money they got from the quests, because he doesn't trust him when it comes to money. Especially when he's going to his Drinking Buddy. They both walked in Different Directions. Kisho, heading to his
Friend's Home, and Kin, heading back to the Guild to take Quests.
◤The Guild, 6:45 PM◢
"High Reward, Low Risk... High Reward, Low Risk... High Reward, Low Risk..."
Kin kept repeating those words to himself as he looks at the Quest Board. he doesn't want He and Kisho to be yelled at... Again.
"Ah! This one!"
[Search and Deliver Light Orb to Altar
Location: East Mountain, Velenum.
Reward: 125 Platinum Coins.
Difficulty: Supreme — Ace Level.]
"125 PLATINUM COINS?! THAT'S INSANE!"
"With that, you can pay your debt."
"Yea— Wait... Fuji-san?"
He simply approaches you without a sound, As expected from an Apex Adventurer.
"Yo, Kin. By the way, where's Kisho?"
Fuji wondered
"Oh, He went to Eli-sama's home"
"Phew... Good thing I was the one who went here. Hayashi was going to come here to see how you guys are doing, I figured you and Kisho would slack off, so I insisted that I would come instead."
Heh... Kisho-san's Actions are kind of Predictable, aren't they?
Kin thought.
"Well, then. I'm going back home, and tell Hayashi you guys are doing alright. See you later, Kin."
"See you later, Fuji-san."
Kin registered for the Quest and decided to do it alone.
He rode a Carriage, East Mountain to the East Mountain of Velenum. On his way there, he noticed that they we're slowly approaching Darkness.
"Excuse me, Mister..."
Kin called out the man that was driving the carriage.
"... What's this Darkness that's covering us?"
He asked.
"Ah... A few days ago, the Orb of Light was stolen from the Altar. It is rumored that the one who stole and hid it, is among themselves. people there are really cautious right now."
The Driver replied in a mannerly way.
That makes this is an investigation quest. No wonder the reward is high, not to mention this is a serious matter.
why hasn't the Kingdom has moved to fix this Issue? If the Orb of Light breaks, the people living in the East Mountain will be stuck and might never see the Sunlight again. I'll do whatever I can.
