Chapter Two

―Zoë Wesley—

It's the first day of my school and I am so excited to meet my friends from the Blue Moon Kingdom. They are living here in New Moon town temporarily. They are from our pack, the Blue Moon pack that is the strongest one in the world. Every pack bows down to us because we are the royal family.

My Father was an Alpha or the King of the Blue Moon but there's an invasion to our pack and I lost my father and my mother. My mother was the Enchantress and that makes me special. I am different. I am born to be alone in this world.

Great! I am late because of my guardian. Fuck this time! I made those girls get out of my way. I didn't bother walking on the side so that girl in the middle wearing a short skirt had stepped aside. And before she bumped on me, she had moved away.

'Look out!' I told them I am annoyed. They don't own this corridor, so they have to step aside. I am busy with my transcription looking for the room. I found it and there's this guy. Hot guy, I should say, is on the door staring at me weirdly. I snapped my fingers in front of him but nothing. 'Hey, dude. You are blocking my way!'

He blinks finally. I pushed his chest and got in, giving my transcription to the teacher. He introduced me to them, and I saw Gabriel.

I hate that guy! He forgot his guitar from their packhouse, so I have to go there and get it. It's not that I hate him. I just hate him ordering me to get it.

I walked in the aisle and gave it to him by putting it over the desk. 'Thanks, sweetheart!' he smiles and winks. I smiled at him and patted his head. I walked to my seat and settled my bag on the floor.

'Mr. Gregg, changing your mind?' Mr Clifford asked the guy who I met at the door. He smiled lopsidedly and he's so cocky.

'Well, I still have a realization in life.' He told him. Okay, didn't he like calculus? Well, I love calculus so good luck to him.

After my class, I waited in my locker for someone to surprise. I texted Keynes my guardian that I was in school and it was great. He told me to text him every hour, so I did.

He's always like that since I was ten years old when my parents died. I had survived and Keynes saved me.

The high Councilor wanted me alive and safe because I was the only one who would save my people. I have been to a lot of countries and places with Keynes. Almost after a few months, we will move again to another place and country where the other packs are. We are like having a trip around the world. But it is the way to keep me safe, he told me.

'Princess!' Harris shrieks and my eyes widen when I see him. I missed this guy, so I ran to him and jumped on him. He caught me and kissed my cheek while twirling me around. 'Comment Allez-Vous?' he asked. He's so cute.

'I am fine, merci.'

'Good, because we are going to the cafeteria to eat!' he put his arms around me.

'Great! I am starving!'

We eat in the cafeteria where Chase, Sam, Gab are. They already ordered food for me. I am starving and I need to eat a lot. I am one of the werewolves but a peculiar one. My mom always told me that.

That's why they die protecting me. I missed them. Every time I feel pain and rejection when one of the werewolves who are mated for each other will reject the other. I am the one who suffers most.

'So, how's France?' Sam asked.

'Good. Oh, we went to the Philippines last summer and I was so fascinated! It's more fun in the Philippines. There are lots of beautiful sceneries even their food is so délicieux*!''

'You are in many places... I wanted to go with you sometimes.' Chase said with those dreamy eyes.

'Yeah sure.'

'But hey, drop speaking in French. You give me a headache.' Gab told. I messed his hair and he slapped my hand away. 'I am not a dog.'

'Sure, you are...' and I laugh.

Yes, they are werewolves and unmated, I guess.

'Did you already find your mates?' I asked them. They shook their heads. I just smiled at them. 'Don't ever reject them, okay? I might die if you did.' I said trying to make fun of it.

'We are not going to reject our mate.' Harris told me, putting his arms around me. 'The Gods and Goddesses give it to us as a gift. Right guys?' they agreed.

I am glad that they are considering my condition. I am peculiar and I suffer in rejections. The Black Witch had cursed me; I guess that curse will make every immortal realize that they have mates. They should love each other rather than rejecting and hurting each other.

Chase and I went to the Music and Arts room. He's forcing me to play the piano. I learn to play the piano from my father, and I learn how to sing well from my mother. Dad always told me that I was their child prodigy. I missed them and I loved them. I hate those bad Lycans who killed my parents. Those rogues who attacked our kingdom killed my parents. After that, I had trained to be a hunter and enchantress. Those Lycans who killed their blood and species should be punished.

I play Chopin's Nocturne with my heart and I imagine my dad playing me whenever I feel pain in my chest like I am going to die. I cried on his chest and he's whispering on me softly.

Then, I just realize that I am done playing from the applause from my classmates.

When my class was over, I let out a sigh and went to the parking lot where Keynes was waiting for me. He's leaning on the car wearing those blue-sky shirts and a pair of black jeans. He is gorgeous. I know that he is. His mate will be lucky to have him. But he hasn't found his mate yet. He's already 25 years old. He also liked my big brother and a father.

'Princess how's school?' he asked. I gave him a hug and kiss on the cheek.

'Well, it was great. Chase forced me to enter the Music and Art class.' He opened the door to me, and I hopped in. When he got into the driver seat and turned on the engine, I asked him. 'How about you? You met the New Moon Alpha?'

'Yup, he's cool. He told me about his son and daughter. His son is next on the line to be the Alpha of New Moon.'

'Cool... and his daughter? You met her?' I grinned playfully.

I felt that his mate was near to him. He shook his head and glanced at me weirdly. 'Oh c'mon! She might be your mate!'

'Your highness, it's not like that. My mission here is to find you—' he stopped and sighed.

'Find what?' I asked. He's hiding something from me.

'I need to find something to break the curse. I don't want to see you suffer from the pain in your heart.'

'It's okay. I had been on a lot of that. And looked at me, I am still alive.'

'Yeah, your wolf will complete itself when the blue moon comes. You will be powerful, and we will bow down to you. I will be less worried if it happens.'

'Psh!' I snorted. 'Don't be so dramatic. Think about you and your mate. You will become more confident if you have her on your side.' I smiled at him, and he glanced at me.

I know my smile will relieve him. 'So, how old is she?' I asked with a grin. He rolled his eyes.

'Drop it, Princess.'

'Call me Zoë... so?'

'I haven't met her, okay? So, drop it... Zoë...' he murmurs my name. I punched his arm that made him flinch and he almost lost control on the wheel.

'Ops...' I giggle.

'You need to learn how to control your strength.'

'Yeah, I will start working on it... tomorrow.' I lean on my seat and put my feet on the front.

'Put it down.'

'I am tired, Key... also hungry... I might eat you.' I told him as I licked my lower lips. We stopped in the diner and ordered our food. He looked around, observing the atmosphere. They are all werewolves, and some are hybrid. I looked around too and smiled at the cute dresses of the waitresses.

'Should I apply here?' I asked. 'I mean, you work too hard to make money.'

'No, you are my responsibility. I don't want you to work.'

'Oh-kay... but I should try... what do you think?' he shook his head.

I know that he will not approve of that. He doesn't want me to work. He told me that we had enough money for our daily expenses. The Council sent us money every month though it is enough, he still wanted to work. I order another fries and coke.

'You should run early in the morning. You need to burn calories...' I looked down on my stomach and on the fries that I am holding. I am not that fat! I mockingly threw the fries in my mouth and munched it.

We buy groceries and I bought a lot of chips and midnight snacks. He eyed me and he picked the fresh fruits telling me that it is the best thing to eat. I shrugged and went to the fridge to grab bottles of juices and sodas. I put it all in the trolley.

I went to the toilet section to grab the toilet tissues and freshener. Then this cute guy approaches me with cute smiles.

'Hi there, gorgeous.' He winks. I raise my eyebrows. 'I'm Yves...' he extends his hand to me. I took it and smiled lopsidedly.

'Zoë...'

'If you didn't recognize my cuteness... I am from calculus.'

'Oh... I see...'

'I wanted to be direct to the point. Are you from the Blue moon pack?' He asked as he narrowed his eyes a little. I chuckled. So, he's not here to flirt on me.

'Yup... why so?'

'I am wondering how peculiar you are.' I shrugged.

'Zoë.' Keynes called, and he cocked his head to sign me to come with him.

'Okay... I need to go. He's calling me.' I winked at him. He giggles and nods at me.

'See you again, Zoë.' He waves. I wave back.

I pick the shampoo and run to Keynes. I put everything that I gathered and put it in the trolley.

'Who was that?' he asked.

'A cute guy from calculus class.' I told him with a smile.

'Did he ask you something about the Blue Moon pack?' I nod.

'Why Key?' I asked. 'He's cute and adorable and... seem kind to me.'

'We better hurry. I know you look tired.' He rubbed my back, and we headed to the counter.

We reached the two-story house where we need everything. Then, I helped him put the fruits and juices on the fridge. Next, I put my boxes in my room upstairs. I dropped it and looked around the empty shelves and the four-poster bed. The room is big, and there's a two meters width and two meters length glass window. I opened the curtains and looked at the open window next door. We had a neighbour, and their house is big and beautiful.

The moon is crescent, and I love watching the moon.

I dropped my body on the bouncy bed and sighed.

The bed was great, and I could relax here all day long. Keynes knocks on my door.

'Hey, shower before sleeping.' He told me.

'Yeah... Dad!' I mock him.

He's acting like a father, and sometimes like a brother.

I jumped off from the bed and closed the curtains with my magic. I pull my iPod and put it on the speaker. I turn to the music playing the song 'I'm in Love with a Monster' of the fifth harmony.

I started looking for my shampoo and bath soap. I also search for my towel and my bathrobe. I hung them and stepped on the shower where the door is a bit open for me to hear the music. I sang along with the song.

'I'm in love...I'm in love... I'm in love with the monster...'

'Zoë, I need to go to the house of Blue Moon to check on something.' Keynes yells from my room.

'Yeah... be safe!' I told him.
