Death Welcomes Me

Z P.O.V.

Running through the streets, passing by the giant buildings with their neon signs that show their corporate names, shining bright, drowning out the darkness of the night sky. The land never sleeps, always bustling with the noise of beings and their laughter, the sound of speeding ships and cruisers zipping by with a hum or a whistle sound. Some so small that only one person can fit on the inside.

Further down the road I spot a hover fighter. A long narrow tip at the front and shorter back for the propulsion engine and 5 foot wingspan on either side. Compared to the other crafts the hover fighter can space jump and full on weaponry system that will be key to helping me catch up to the ship that has Emily.  Looking around both sides of the street nobody is paying me much mind, all of them lost in their own little worlds oblivious of their surroundings of all the happenings behind the scenes. Sometimes I feel they are just as weak and pathetic as the human race was. Slinking my way the fighter the cockpit glass opens upward as there is a hisa from a release of the airlock. Climbing in the front seat, the control sita in the middle making me split my legs. Setting down I check the controls and feel underneath the dashboard for a little black box. If I can find the box I can override the wires and coding allowing me to use the fighter, I wouldn't consider this stealing more so like commadearing.

Sliding my hand all across the bottom my fingers catch the shape of a small square about the size of my hand. Tucking my head down to get a better view, this is no easy task. My large size doesn't really allow for the squeezing and turning that grants shorter less muscular beings. It takes me a minute but I manage to wiggle myself enough to view the box. Switching three wires to different ports and a 4 digit override later, I manage to hack into the system. The hiver fighter was now mine to control. ' Thank you Natasha for the hacking lesson and codes, I knew they'd come in handy' I smirked at my thought and started the fighter.

Starting the fighter it vibrates throughout my body from my hands through my arms, shoulders, torso and legs. Sniffing the air before closing the glass cockpit covering. Leona's keen nose and expert scent tracker pinpoints a path for me to take. With a growl and growing rage, I set my course due west and follow the trail. Speeding past all other aircraft in the sky they all become a blur and the buildings are gone from my sight in a flash. I have no time to take things slow, for all I know they could be torturing her or even kill her by now. And if they haven't….most certainly they will soon.

Emily's P.O.V.

Waking up I am still in my cell all alone, my whole body aches from laying on the hard metal ground. There's no bed or cot in my cell; it is just me,  the four walls and the red forcefield acting as the replacement of a door that covers corner to corner. Sitting up I cringe  from the pain caused by  them dropping me.  Only increasing my level of pain. Looking at my bare shoulder I can see a purple bruise has begun to appear on my arm.

The room door slides open with a low hum, and in walk three tall reptilians, one with a lizard head that is green as summer grass and eyes as yellow as the sun, his scales shine in the light and his torso is a peach colot, Abs form a six pack across his lower torso and his arms have a good build muscle mass. His legs match the tone of the rest of his body. He wears nothing but a red speedo like cloth,  and golden necklace with a S engraved into the diamond shape charm on his chain.  His cohorts are what appear to be different sub species of snakes. Their heads are bald and scaly one is pitch dark black with light grey eyes, a peach undertone with lines that trace downward from his bottom jaw down to the edge of his chin. Much like the tall Lizard being, he is shining in the light also wearing a leather chest piece with a matching S stitched into it. . Lastly the other is the same height as the others and just muscular. His scaly skin is a bright yellow with white spots that cover his body, with deep rose red eyes, his armor covers his whole body grey with a mixture of black and grey colors.

My body tenses at the sight of them and my heart thumps in my ears. With trembling legs I stand, and slump my shoulders holding my head low. 'This is it, the moment has arrived where they take me to my death.'

Armed with long spears with brown handles and sharp silver heads, they approach their looks so menacingly, there would be no point in begging for my life. My words would just fall flat and silent to them, and all they would do was laugh and snicker at the weak human girl who doesn't wish to die. Even with the pain of losing everyone and feeling so alone because of it. I have met others who just their presence and kindness has made me want to stay here even if I feel as though I don't belong. Stepping closer and closer their eyes force me to close mine. The looks they give is an overwhelming surge of the power they have over me. Their strength and 6 plus foot height out trumps my unskilled fighting, my fragile body with just enough muscle to help me move and walk.

Shutting down the forcefield the three steps in towering over me. "Your hands'' the green lizard snaps holding up the same cuffs they had used on me when I was first taken.  Complying, I hold my arms out straight petting my hands dangle. Placing the cuffs on me the two snake beings flank me, the yellow one on my left and the pitch black one on my right. The green lizard is behind me and places his hand with black claws on my back, shoving me forward. Stumbling forward from the harsh shove I walk over to the closed door and wait.  Punching in the code on the keypad the door opens with the same familiar hum.  Standing there the yellow one shoves me forward harder than the lizard had.

"Get a move on human" the yellow one snears.

Stopping looking at them. " Are you going to use the visor to cover my eyes again?" I wondered what the difference was between then and now.

"No need, we didn't want you to know the whereabouts of the direction you were being taken. Especially if your Lycan friend has visionary abilities. If she did then she could link  with you then she'd be able to find you. However the visor solved that problem," the  yellow one cocks a smile that catches the corner of his mouth.

So even if Z did have that ability without knowing which direction I was taken it was useless. Feeling desperate and out of options, tears well in my eyes. 'I don't want to die' I think to myself as my chest tightens.

Walking down the hall they lead me to another room and inside is a long metal table, syringes with approximately seven to eight inch needles, multiple scanners. Along with a heart monitoring machine. A long counter with a single sink is placed along the wall on the far side of the room. Bone saws and drills lay on a small table side next to the metal examine table.

By this point after seeing the room, I have a choice to make. I could die crying and go out like the weakling everyone thinks I am or I can die fighting. Either way I was going to die ,but I would at least die the way I wanted. Not pathetic not crying and not afraid, no regrets. Taking a deep breath I deliver a hard kick to the stomach of the yellow reptilian and duck as the pitch black one tries to grab me. I bolt to the side kicking him in the same spot as the other.

"Seize that bitch!" both of them grunt simultaneously holding the arms across their middle.  Looking around the other reptilians in the room encircling. These ones are a dark brown color with red race stripe patterns going from their nose back towards their head and back. Eyes are silver in color and filled with bloodlust, pink tongues pry through their pressed jaws swiping up and down.

" This is going to bring me so much pleasure dissecting your human corpse!" One of the brown reptilians shouts charging at me.

Losing my sense of surroundings in the room I find myself cornered and ultimately the three brown and red striped reptilians grab me, two have my arms and the other has my legs. I squirm and hit the best I could with the very little freedom of my limbs I had, but to no avail. Laying me on the table it's cold touch sends shivers down my spine, goosebumps crawl upward on my arms and legs. Latching my arms above my head and my legs apart, I am sprawled out in a 'X' shape.

Attaching the wires to the mini sticky pads they place one on my chest over my heart, placing one on my left temple the other on my right temple. Grabbing a syringe with a clear fluid filled in it. Pressing down a few drops fall from the end of the needle. Snickering maniacally, the green Lizard turns to me.  It must be strange to admit that I am not afraid, my heart rate doesn't pick up pace and my mind is clear. I may not be ready to die, but at the same time I welcome it. Anything is better than being tortured and stuck to live as a human experiment.

Sucking in a long deep breath I watch as he approaches closer, sticking the needle into my neck and injecting whatever clear liquid it is. My vision goes blurry and my body starts to feel heavy as if I am being held down by some invisible forcefield. A hot flash crashes over me and my skin feels like it's tightening on me. Then my hearing leaves me and the world falls silent my vision completely flows  into darkness. It's black so, so black. I can't help but to think, death has welcomed me.
