When The Sun Sets

-Ron's POV-

"Do you have any sevens?" I asked.

"No." answered Kevin, "Go fish."

"Dang it!" I responded as I drew a card.

"You're really bad at this." commented Cerise.

We were all sitting at a picnic table in town. We all died in Mirai and needed something to do since we very well couldn't go back due to the rules of re-spawning. For us to be able to go back, we would have to wait a full twenty four hours and it hadn't really been that long. We ended up playing card games to pass the time and Cerise joined us.

"Where's Jon?" asked Jason, "Didn't he die!?"

"I… think so." I answered.

"Maybe he didn't." said Kevin, "Maybe he didn't risk death only to have an asshole kill him!"

"S-sorry!" I reacted, "I just… didn't want plot holes."

"I don't even know what that means." responded Kevin.

"Jon's tougher than he looks." added Cerise, "For the record, I'm stronger though."

"How long have we been here?" asked Harold.

"I wish I knew." I answered, "I also wonder how the quest is going?"

"So, where is your apprentice?" asked Jason.

"She should have been watching you guys in Mirai." said Cerise.

"Does that mean she was watching us the whole time?" I responded.

"Yep, she must know everything." said Cerise, "Even what you guys did alone in your rooms..."

"I'd prefer if you didn't imply that everyone in the group is a horny masturbator." I replied.

"It was a joke." she said.

"Still," I said, "it's kinda weird. You could have just done the quest with is."

"If I helped out, it would be too easy for you guys." said Cerise.

A hooded figure suddenly appeared next to Cerise and whispered in her ear.

"I've gotta go." she said, taking her apprentice with her.

"What is with those two?" asked Harold.

"That apprentice... I've been wondering why it feels like I know her from somewhere." said Jason.

"I've been wondering the same thing." I said, "Something is really weird about the two of them."

"So, is the quest over yet?" complained Kevin.

"It is finished." came out of nowhere.

We all saw Jon.

"How do you know?" I asked, "I thought you died before-"

"I didn't." he answered, "I was somehow able to save myself and was able to save two women from Miles."

"About Miles…" I said.

"I don't know what the hell he was supposed to be," replied Jon, "because we fought him as a human… I think… and then a dragon and finally, a stick figure."

"Sounds like drugs to me." I commented.

"We still defeated him." said Jon, "He is now dead and we should never have to worry about him again."

"We missed out on some epic stuff!" I complained.

"It's okay," Jon said, "besides, I don't think we could have stopped Miles without you."

"Yeah," I said, "that was a pretty crazy adventure."

"Hey, Jon?" said Jason, "You look like there's something on your mind."

"Oh, uh, is that right?" he said.

"Is something wrong?" I asked.

"Well, how do I put?" said Jon, "Something about Miles seems weird to me."

"Weird?" I replied, "How so?"

"I feel like... I may have met that guy somewhere before." answered Jon.

"We seem to be getting ourselves into plenty of mysteries." I commented.

"Well, there's no point in worrying about it now." said Jason, "We can work in the mysteries in the future."

"Anyways, I'm going to go see Lilith," said Jon, "the sun is going to set soon and I need to say something to her before it sets."

We all decided to go with him even though we couldn't travel back to Mirai yet. The time limit was still in place after all. We just figured we could at least see him off. However, as luck would have it, Lilith came back to Dovacath just to see Jon. We found her in a park not far from town, leaning against a tree.

"L-Lilith!" exclaimed Jon.

"Jon…" she responded.

"There is something I need to tell you." answered Jon, "It's been on my mind for a while… and I feel that… it's time to let it out."

"Yes?" responded Lilith.

Jon got down on one knee and held her hand.

"Lilith," he said, "will you marry me?"

"How old are you two!?" I responded.
