Chapter 8 (Josephs POV) Someone Id Like You To Meet

I sat there for a few moments, a bit confused what she had meant by that. Did Himla's younger son also have visions where he talked to others as well? If so, then why had I not seen him in any of my visions yet? I shook my head, as I saw Himla had his head down at the ground as well.

I could not see his face, due to the fact that he had his back turned, but I could tell he was in a lot of pain off of what she had just said. I felt a bit bad for him, that was all that you could ever see from him anymore, and it was even worse than I had last seen.

Himla turned his head over to Socra, and this time I saw it in his face. He began to speak to her, responding to what she had just said to him. His voice sounded as if it were angry, but I could tell that it was just based off of the pain that was written all over his face.

"If that is true... Then he does need to be deputy, my time is up now, you know what the dragon of destiny is meant to do, neither me, nor you are in any of that, and there is a reason as to why that is so." He said to her. She looked at him for a few moments, just keeping her eyes squinted.

It was not the first time that I had heard that term used before. I had heard not just them talking about that dragon, but I had also heard of the black dragons speaking about the dragon of destiny. I did not know very much about it, but it seemed to be in all of the dragons heads practically all of the time.

Socra I could tell was hurt a lot with what he had just said. She looked at her leader, well, which might not be her leader very soon. She then nodded to him, and she spoke one last thing to him, just before he then began to walk away from the large clearing.

"If this is how you wish it to be, than so be it, but there is still a lot that you can do to help the tribe, and you have a son that needs you and cares about you." She said to Himla. I looked at her, and then I nodded almost to myself. It was well spoken, what she had just said to him.

Himla I could tell was hurt, and deeply saddened with what she had just said to him. He looked down at the ground in a lot of pain, just as he had been the whole time I had seen them talking. I did not know whether to feel bad for him or not.

A part of me wanted to, but then a thought of what I had heard John say when all of this had first started happening then came into my head. I had not thought about what he had said in quite a long time. But this seemed to be the perfect scenario for what he had said to be used.

"All of you must know, that you are not the only ones that lost something that day." He had said. It made a lot of sense as well, and it correlated perfectly to what was going on in the exact moment. If Himla truly was supposed to be one of the strongest dragons alive, why was he not acting like it?

Himla finally lifted his head up at his deputy. I saw tears dripping from his eyes, and he was in quite some hurt at the moment. He looked at his deputy, who would soon be the leader of his tribe, and he began to speak to her.

"I had 2 sons that cared about me... It is my fault for not thinking of something different, and my fault for trusting a black dragon... It is my fault for all of it." He said to her. She looked at him for a few moments, and then she shook her head at him.

Both of them knew that was not correct. He had done his best with all that he had put in front of him. There was only so much that he could do, his tribe did not believe in any of it either. If they were to run away from their home, a lot of dragons would refuse to go with them, and it would be a massacre if that were so.

Socra sat there, I could see a lot of pain in her face as well. She was doing her best to look strong for her friend, but I could tell that she was failing. Himla was not paying enough attention to notice however, as he still kept his head down to the ground.

Socra finally looked up at her friend, as she then after a few quick moments of her just staring him down, she then began to speak to him. Himla did not look to be paying any attention, but I knew he was listening to what it was that his deputy had to say.

"Himla... You still have 1 son, and you have a daughter that is in a lot of pain as well. We all need you now, and your son is the dragon of destiny, he needs you to act like he is." She said to him, getting upset at Himla at the last part, as she very well should be doing as well.

Himla sat there for a few moments, and he kept on staring at the ground, as if he had not heard a word that Socra had just said to him. Both me and Socra knew that was not to be true however. He was most certainly paying attention to what she had said, he just did not know what to say about it.

I sat still not trying to break the meeting that they were having at the moment, but I had a thought in my head, that at any moment, I should be waking up, surely right? This was the longest vision that I had ever had before...

I closed my eyes, expecting to wake up in my tent, and feel the chill air on me, as I huddled up close to my blanket as well, not wanting to wake up to another day of sitting in camp and doing nothing practically. I shook my head off of those thoughts, and I turned my head back over to the dragons.

I saw that Socra was staring down Himla, as she was waiting for him to respond to what she had just said to him clearly. Himla noticed that she was waiting on him, and he lifted his head up to his deputy. He did his best to speak back to her, and not get the over whelming pain take over him. He finally then decided to speak to her.

"The dragons in our tribe no longer trust me, I made you his mentor for a reason. Now, this is up to you, and I trust that you will not fail us..." He said to her. She looked at him for just a few moments, taking in what he had just said to her.

She this time was the one that dropped her head to the ground. Clearly what he had just said had hit a soft spot on her. I did not know who was in the right, and he was in the wrong at the moment. I did not know them all that well, and I was not a part of their tribe at all.

She looked up at him, then she shook her head up at him. He stared her down, not even acting like she had not just shook her head at him. As if she were trying to say that he was the one that was in the wrong at the moment.

To be honest, I could not say who was wrong, and who was right at the moment. I was more leaning to Socra, due to the fact that we needed their help if we were going to fight back against the black dragons. I was willing to keep an open mind on it however as well.

Socra stared him down for a bit longer, and it seemed as if Himla did not look fazed at all by it. I could tell who was the superior dragon, although Himla was not acting like he was. I could still see it in him, and I could tell that Socra could see it as well.

Socra then looked down at the ground, she could not stare him down for any longer, clearly Himla was the one that had one that interaction. I shook my head not really thinking about it, as Socra finally decided to speak back up to Himla.

"Himla... We need you, you need to see your son win this, you need to see us get our revenge..." She said to him. Himla looked at her for a few moments. As if Socra had just said something that was completely wrong. I looked at him a bit confused what the look on his face was for.

He turned his head away from her. It was if she had just hit a soft spot in his head, which I could not tell what it was. Did he still think of Plyma as a friend after all of what he had done to him? It was his fault that his son was murdered in the first place, surely he realized that right?

Himla turned his head back over to Socra, as I just watched with a bit of a surprised look on my face. He looked a bit upset at what she had just said to him. I could tell he was a bit angry at her as well, with the way that his voice spoke as he began to talk.

"Revenge only makes you feel better in the exact moment, in the end, even if you get that bitter sweet revenge. You still have to realize what you had lost to get that so called revenge." He said to her. I realized what he had said seemed to make a lot of sense as well, and it was very well spoken.

Although humans did tend to be a lot smarter than dragons, I could tell that there were a few dragons that were out there, that were a lot smarter than it seemed they were. Socra looked down at the ground once again, and this time she did not say anything back to her friend.

She knew that he was right, and it hurt her to think about it like that as well. It hurt me as well, but if we just let the black dragons win, then neither us humans, nor the red dragons would exist on this planet. That was what neither of them realized in the exact moment in time.

I felt like I should step up and notify that I was there, and to let them know that I had just heard all that they had said. Something stopped me from doing that however, as I sat there and just kept on watching them, as Socra finally stepped up and began to speak up to her old friend.

"If you give in... They will kill all of us..." She said to him. It was short, and it was sweet, but I could tell that it hit Himla deep in the head. He just stood still, and he closed his eyes. He was in a lot of pain, and it hurt him, all of the thoughts that were going on in his head, that was at least.

Himla stayed still, and I could tell that he was struggling with heavy breathing, as he tried his best to keep his calm, and keep his cool. Clearly he was not the one that had called this meeting in the first place. He looked at his deputy and then nodded to her as he then began to relax himself as he began to talk to her.

"I am not giving in, I am simply passing down the reigns to you... Our tribe does not trust me any more, if I even tried to lead them, they would not listen to me, and they would not trust any of my decisions." He said to her. She looked at him, and then kept her head back down to the ground.

There was a part of her that knew what he was saying was true. She just did not want to admit to it, she was still thinking of her friend as the same friend that had stood by her side in all of the previous wars. That was just not the case any more, he was different now, his mind was not right.

She sat there for a few moments longer, as I squinted my eyes at her this time. She lifted her head up at her friend, I was really interested in what it was that she had to say to her friend. I was pretty sure that Himla was going to shut it down practically no matter what she said to him. After a few moments longer, she stepped up and began to speak to him.

"You can't give up like that, you are one of the greatest dragons that I have ever met, you do not realize that. Do not let one failure bring you down." She said to him. I nodded to her, even though I knew that she could not see it at all, what she had just said was perfect, now it was just up to Himla of how he would comprehend that.

Himla sat there for a few moments, and then he let his head sag down to the ground. He knew that she was right with what she had just said. He just did not feel like she was right, and it was almost as if I could read what was going on in his head at the moment.

All I could feel was torment and pain, there was something wrong up there. He wanted to believe what his friend was saying was true, but it was far too hard for him to comprehend it. It was just not fitting right in his head, and it was messing him up, I could tell by the look on his face as well, that it was also making him quite upset.

He sat there and he looked up at his friend, he stared at her, just like he had been doing just a few moments ago. He then shook his head at her, as if he was saying that she was wrong. I looked at him a bit confused, but I was interested on what it was he had to say, as he began to speak back to her.

"I used to be... I can't be that any more, it is not hard to tell that I am broken, and there is no going in and fixing the mistakes... It is you now... I am leaving, I have said my peace..." He said to her. She looked at him for a few moments, as if she was going to say one last thing to him.

It just did not seem to be as if she could bring herself to do so. She just let him walk away, as she sat there in a lot of pain. It looked like she wanted to sleep it off, but I could tell that she was not asleep quite yet. I was expecting to wake up from the dream at any moment now.

I closed my eyes, waiting on it, it seemed like forever, I did not know how long I had been in this dream for, but it was most certainly the longest dream that I had ever been in. I kept my eyes closed, expecting to feel the warmth of my blanket taking away the cold air at any moment now.

I then heard a voice, I kept my eyes closed, just hoping that I was out of my dream now, and that I was not just in some endless cycle of speaking to these dragons for what felt like eternity. I then heard the voice as it called out my name once again.

I opened my eyes, and saw that I was somehow all of the sudden in the middle of the clearing, standing right beside Socra. I looked around, wondering what had gotten me here in the first place. I did not feel like talking to anyone right now, much less a dragon.

I blinked a couple of times, trying to get my head, and my ears right, to hear what it was that she was trying to say to me at the exact moment. Once she knew that I was paying attention to her, she then nodded to me and then began to talk about what it really was she was trying to say to me.

"I assume you heard all of that then... He is just not the same any more, there is no fixing him, I have tried my best, that is the last time I try... He is giving me the reigns to leader now." She said to me. I looked at her for a few moments, just staying still, as if I had not heard what she had just said.

I then took in what it was that she had just said to me. I then looked at her, and then I nodded to her. She was waiting for me to speak back to her clearly. I was just not so sure what to respond to her with, so I did a simple way of speaking to her.

"Yes... I heard it, how come you did not add me in on it then?" I said to her. She looked at me for a few moments, and then she lowered her head down to the ground. I wondered why that was so, did she not want me to interrupt the important meeting? Why did she even let me listen to it in the first place, if she knew I was there?

I shook my head though, I was not sure why, but I knew she would find some sort of way to respond to the question that I had just asked her. She looked at me for a few moments longer, and then she finally decided, once she knew I was paying attention, that she was going to speak.

"Himla is no longer leader, he can not see you any more, I needed the time with him to speak, and to try to change his mind... It did not work clearly." She said to me. I looked down at the ground a bit sadly for a few moments, I felt a bit bad for this tribe.

I knew that I should not however, because just based off of all that John had told me about dragons, he had said that "no dragon should be trusted". I had to assume that he was speaking both for the black dragons, and the red dragons as well.

This very well could be a trick to try to get me to tell me where I was, that way the could come and kill me. Though I very well did doubt it, I knew that the black dragons would not just kill a bunch of red dragons, and then the red dragons would let it slide like that just to make it a part of the plan.

There was still a suspicious part of me still, and I knew if they did ask me where I was, I would not tell them about it at all. Though the only dragon that had tried to trick me like that was Plyma, but he was not very hard for me to read.

I then realized that Socra was still waiting for me to respond, and I still was not all that sure what to respond with. I sat there for quite a few moments, just staring at the old crusty soil that was below me. I could never feel it however, like most of my dreams, but I could smell that nasty smell from it however. I then looked back up at Socra, and began to speak.

"Well... I am sorry about all of that, there is not very much I can do... I am still not sure I can trust all of you, nor the reason I meet you in the first place." I said to her. She looked at me for a few moments, and then she nodded to me, as it seemed to be that she understood where I was coming from.

Both of us just sat there in silence for just a few moments, as she pushed herself up from where she had been sitting on the ground for quite some time, ever since she had that meeting with Himla. She turned her head away from me, as she suddenly began to talk loudly to someone.

"Jangra! There is someone I would like you to meet!"
