Chapter 27 (Josephs POV) Supper Is Ready!

I looked at my sister for a few moments, as none of it to me still seemed real at the moment. I felt Julia's hand slide into mine again, and I looked over at her. She had quite a big, and beautiful smile on her face, as she then began to nod to me.

I knew what she meant by it. As I then let go of her, and then I lifted my arms out wide, and Mariah then ran over to me, with tears in her eyes as well. It did not seem real to her as well, as I could tell. She held on to me for quite some time too.

I felt the warmth of her body, as it warmed me up as well. I still could not take any of this in at the moment. I had thought that they were gone for sure, and John had told me they were. I did not expect any of this to happen to me today.

She then let go of me, as I kind of wish that she had not. It brought back some memories of the day that I had gone to court, and she had given me one last hug before the inevitable went ahead and happened. I should have seen it coming as well, if I knew it was all real, and I knew Plyma was coming after me, I should have known that they would have attacked to city.

So many innocent people had died that day too. Sometimes I kind of wished that I had turned myself in to him. It would not have mattered though, as I knew that John was right when he had told me, "they would have burnt down the city anyways, they're out to extinguish the human race."

I still felt like I was a lot to blame on it though for some reason. As I felt like I should have at least gone to try and warn people about it. I knew no one would believe me though, as they would laugh at me like they had done to my father, and then they would have thrown me in there with him.

I closed my eyes for a few moments, as there was just silence in the room. Then after a few more moments, it seemed like I had heard trying from behind me. I turned my head to see what it was, and I saw that my father hand his hands bawled up in front of his eyes, as he was trying to wipe off tears.

I then turned my head to the other side of me, as I heard loud and quick foot steps run across the wooden floor that was beneath us. I looked over and I saw that it was just my sister, and I saw what came as a surprise to me too, that she was running over to my father.

The reason why I was in fact so surprised about it, was that my father and my sister never really got along, and it usually got into big arguments that my mother would always have to step in front of her so that he did not do anything to her.

My father though, held on to her, what seemed like even harder than I had held on to her and Julia. I knew that we never got along, but I knew as well, that my father did still love her. It lasted for quite a few more moments, until my father let go of her, and then he lowered his head to the ground at the same time as well.

Mariah looked at him a bit confused, as I was as well. It seemed like that had been enough to make up for all of the mistakes that had happened in the past. It was for me at least, as I knew that my father was broken, but he had at least changed his ways.

My father then his head back up to her, just the slightest bit, but you could still see that he had done that if you were paying attention. After just a bit longer, he also finally decided to speak up to her, as I looked at him to focus my eyes on what it was that he was going to say at the same time.

"I am sorry... About all of it, I am sorry I should not have let the money make a fool out of me... Maybe then... Your mother would still be alive." He said to her. I looked at him for a bit longer, but then as soon as I realized what he had just said, my head then stooped low to the ground.

I hated thinking about my mother, as I had loved her so much. She was the greatest human that I had ever met, and it hurt me so much to think about her dying. It also made me angry as well, as I was angry at the dragons. I hated them for what they had done to her for no reason.

They were evil, and it was best left at that by now. I could not wait to kill one of them, that was one thing that I knew for sure. It would feel like bittersweet revenge, and they would get what they so rightfully deserved, for all the pain that they had caused on the humans, and the red dragons.

I balled up my fist at the same instance as well, as I did my best to fight of the rage. It was not the time, nor the place for that, these were good people that had let Julia and Mariah stay at their place for quite a long time. I was just still confused how they had gotten here in the first place.

I then felt Julia put her hands back into mine, as thankfully it cleared out all of the thoughts that I had been stuck on at the same time as well. I looked over at her, and then I smiled at her, as she smiled back at me with the best smile that I had ever seen.

I then looked away from her though, as after the few moments of silence, my sister had finally decided to let that silence come to a halt. I looked over at her as well, as I listened to what it was that she had to say back to our father.

"It's okay... None of that matters now. I am just happy that you and Joseph are okay." She said back to my father. My father looked at her for a few moments, and then he looked over at me for a few moments as I was right behind her. I nodded to him, and he then looked back to my sister and then did the same to her as well.

Things seemed a lot more calm now, as no one seemed to be freaking out anymore, and it was a lot more chill in the room. There was still a bit of an awkward silence though, as it seemed like no one felt like they had anything to say, or speak up to about.

I lowered my head to the ground, and held my hand close to Julia, as it felt like this would now be the perfect time to go ahead and get through with all of the thoughts that I was thinking about at the exact moment as well.

As soon as I began to think of all of the thoughts that had been swarming amongst my head at the same time as well, I then lifted my head up, as I then heard Adrian begin to speak up to and say something to each one of us that was in the room.

"I can tell that all of you are quite worn out at the moment. Julia, Mariah, can you go and fix up the beds for them to get some sleep? My wife has dinner cooked up for you guys as well! I know it will be a lot better than what you guys have had to eat." He said to us. I looked at him for a few moments, as I wondered if he had known that me and Julia were together.

I shook ny head though, as I also realized at the same time as well, that maybe there might not be room for the both of us on her bed. The more likely theory though, that seemed to make a lot more sense to me as well, was that he was not just talking to me.

I knew that there were several others that were in the room with me too, and I looked at all of them, as I then realized that they were quite worn out. After the initial adrenaline rush that I had felt when I realized that it was Julia that was with me, I then realized that I was exhausted as well.

I did my best to keep my eyes open, though it was starting to get a bit hard on me now. I then felt Julia's hand let go of mine, and it woke me up a bit, because I did not wont her to go, and I did not want her to leave me again. I looked at her with quite a bit of a scared look on my face.

She stared at me for a few moments, as I could tell that she was in fact quite a bit confused as to why I was acting like that. It then hit her, as she now got what it was that I was thinking, then she nodded, as she began to speak to me in a calm voice that made me feel even more tired.

"Don't worry Joseph... I will be right back. We will eat a good meal, and then we can sleep together." She said to me. I kept my eyes locked on hers, until it hit me what she had just said to me at the same time too. I then nodded to her, to let her know that I understood.

She nodded at me, and then she followed Mariah up the stairs, to go do what it was that they were supposed to do. I nodded to her back, and then I watched them go up the stairs, still a bit scared, as I rightfully so should be as well.

I then turned my head over to John, as I heard him decide to speak up at the same time too, once they had gone up the stairs. He had a small, smooth little smile on his face, that seemed to relax me, and tell me that everything was going to end up turning out alright. I listened to what it was that he had to say though.

"Well... We will see if it can compare to the stuff that Padre cooks... He didn't have much to work with either." He said to Adrian, but also loud enough for us all to hear, so that it cleared the mist of air that was in the room at the same exact time as well.

All of us let of a bit of a small laugh, besides Uncle. I saw that Uncle had his head to the ground, and it seemed as though he was in quite a bit of sorrow at the moment. No one else seemed to notice it, besides me, as the others nodded and then began to walk into the other room.

I stayed in there with Uncle though, as me and him were just in the room together, and no one had seemed to notice that the both of us had stayed back. I was a bit confused as to what was going on with Uncle at the moment, as I was not sure what to say to him.

It did not matter though, as it he felt like he should be the first one to speak up and talk to me. I looked at him for a few moments, and then I listened in on what it was that he had to say to me as well. As he had his eyes squinted at me for some reason when he spoke.

"Well... Its good for you that you 2 got back the ones that you love." He said to me, but I noticed right away at the same time as well, that he had quite a little bit of spite in his voice. As if it seemed as though he had not actually meant what he had just said.

It had me taken a back, as I was not sure how to respond to what he had just said to me. It was not the words he had said, but it was the way that he had said it to me. I felt his pain, as it seemed to be radiating through the air at the exact moment.

I felt bad for him, as I saw that he had his head back down beneath the ground again. I tried to think of something to say back to him, but it seemed as though I was at a loss of words as well. I just sat there for a few moments, as I too began to lower my head to the ground.

I sat there for a few moments, as it seemed as though I could not think of anything to say back to him, that might make him feel any better at the exact moment. I stared for a few more moments, as I then heard footsteps walking above me at the same time too.

It got my mind off of the depressing thoughts that were tormented in it as well. I lifted my head up, as, once those evil thoughts were out, I thought of just the perfect thing to say to Uncle, that might just cheer him up in the ever so slightest. I spoke to him, and made sure that he heard what I said.

"Uncle... I know... You lost your wife..." I began to say to him. I then stopped for just a few seconds, as I thought of how to word what it was that I wad about to say to him at the same time as well. He lifted his head up, as he squinted his eyes at me once again.

I then lost my train of thought, and I forgot what it was I was going to say to him at the exact moment as well. He stared for a few moments, waiting for me to keep talking, but when I did not do so in fact, he finally decided to be the one that was going to step up and speak.

"She was not just my wife... She was everything to me... I lost everything, there is no point in me being here any more. I am a waste of space, and I am a waste of food." He said to me. It pained me once again, as he said those exact words to me.

Every word seemed like another slice into my body when he said it as well. As I was once again at a loss for words, as I had forgotten what it was that I was going to say to him. I did not know what to say back to him, but I knew that it would have to be quick, as he was testing me as well with the way that he had worded that too.

I looked at him for a few moments, and then I squinted my eyes at him. It did not matter what it was that I was going to say to him. I then just so happened to think of something much better to say to him, and then I stepped forward and began to speak.

"You no Uncle... Yes... She was... And yes... You are a waste of space right now." I said to him. He looked at me a bit shocked with what I had just said, rather than hurt by it. I kept on speaking before he then got hurt by what I had said. "But... Now, it is time to get your revenge on those dragons that killed her, you will not be a waste of space, I promise you that."

He looked at me, still with a bit of a shocked look on his face, as he was not sure how to respond back to what I had just said to him, as far as I could tell. He looked at me for a few moments, but I could see the look in his eyes, that he was not actually looking at me, he was lost in a train of thought.

He then blinked a few times, as it then wrapped around his brain, as to what I had just said to him. He looked at me, and to my surprise, as I would not have expected it at all, he then smiled at me, and then he nodded as to what I had just said.

This time I was the one that was shocked, as I usually was not a good person when it came with my way of words, but this time, the words that I had managed to cook up, had seemed as though they were the perfect words to light him up. It was a good thing that it was me rather than John too.

We sat there for just a few moments longer, as neither of us said a word back to each other, until he then nodded to me again, and he then decided that he was going to be the first one to step up and speak. I nodded back to him, as I listened to his voice.

"You are right Joseph... I will do it to my last breath if I must, I will not let her death be in vein!" He said loudly to me. I smiled at him, as he then took his hand out in front of mine. I was a bit confused as to what it was that he was doing for a few moments.

I then realized that he was waiting for me to go ahead and shake his hand. He wanted me to act like a real man, though at times a still felt like a was a young kid. I moved my hand over to his, and he held on to mine quite a bit tight, and then we began to shake our hands.

We sat there for a bit longer, as we just had smiles on each others faces. It felt good for me, as to the fact that I had made him smile for the first time in quite a while. In fact the last time that I had seen him smile, had been the day before his wife had died.

He used to be one of the most happy men that I had ever come across, but up until recently, it did not seem that it was ever like that anymore. We stood there for just a bit longer, until I heard the voice of a more mature lady speak from the other room.

I realized the voice of the lady as well, as it had to be the voice of the wife of Adrian. Me and Uncle then both turned our heads at the same time as well, to the room that it was coming from, which was the same room that the others had walked into as well. We both listened to what she had to say.

"Everyone! Come into the kitchen! Supper is ready!"
