Chapter 4

A boy around my age volunteered to go first, such an idiot you should've chosen to go later so that you could inspect the matches and get more info on the opponent your facing, like his fighting style, etc.

The boy who went first was immediately defeated in a one-sided match Wich was basically just Atol's knife scraping against his chest and Louis teleporting him out. The rest of the forty matches that continued were also the same with Still winning and then a kid with light brown hair, blue eyes, and medium length and a fit figure came up using two short swords and weapons. The match began as usual and Atol launched forward and managed to scrape the boy, his name was Rez by the way. Rez immediately took a step back and plunged his sword forward towards Atol's chest. Atol backflipped and narrowly avoided it and dashed forward this time he landed and sidestepped and tried to hit Rez but the dude's reflexes were through the roof and he effortlessly flicked his wrist and used his short-sword to block, I should also comment that Atol only used a basic pocket knife and beat a lot of students who were using Spears and advanced swords.

Getting back to the match, Rez flicked his other wrist towards Atol's neck but Spikes from his arm grew and blocked it.

"Nice work kid you passed," said Atol in a relatively more cheerful tone than that of when the exam began, but it was nowhere near even the slightest of cheerful.

Then a few more uneventful matches until I finally stepped up, I got most of my info from Rez's test while the others barely did any help. I walked up toward the

center of the small stadium which was in a dome shape and was about the size of a football field with a large arena in the middle which was rectangular and had a line drawn in the middle.

Okay here we go, I calmed my breathing as I would always do and took my stance after drawing out my sword, Immediately as the match began Atol did his usual move and tried to hit me but my reflexes were fast and I ducked as Atol flew past me, I Turned around to find Atol charging at me again this time I sidestepped and Feinted a stab towards his stomach which he tried to block.

I pulled my sword back before it got and used my had to hit a chop across his neck but he blocked it really quickly (Just how fast is this guy) But as I did so I punctured his stomach unexpectedly with my sword. He placed his hand over it and the red stuff from his hand filled in the wound and healed him

"I was not expecting that, A feint over a feint that was clearly some skill you showed there" And then I returned to the place I had been standing.

Rez showed up near me and asked "Hey what's your name? I'm Rez nice to meet you" he had a rather friendly demeanor to him.

"Hi umm, my name is uh Railan nice to meet you Rez" wait how is an introvert of my magnitude supposed to make small talk?

"Hi Railan you match was pretty good how did you do that," he asked again more curious now

"Oh I had to train a lot to do that" I replied

"Well it was cool and by the way what's your Axel? Mine is called instinct it gives me superhuman reflexes, they are really useful" he said as he looked at the next match Which Atol won with ease.

"Oh mine it's uh called bloodfallen, It's kinda sinister but basically I can rearrange the flesh from the body of the person whose blood I have spilled," I explained reluctantly, normally I would never reveal something like that but this guy had something to him that I just knew I could trust.

"Yea that seems sinister but it's soo cool"

"thanks" I replied awkwardly but it seems I can deal with him better the more I talk.

"Hey what is that sword toward your left side there? you didn't use it in your match"

"oh well, I haven't mastered that sword so I just keep it there for when I trained" I lied but it was only a half-lie right because I haven't mastered it.

"There the entrance exams are over and 15 of you have passed" Said Atol

"Only fifteen out of 120? wow, that was rather a surprising result, honestly, I thought there would be more. Guess that's how hard this test really was" Rez muttered to me

Honestly, I do not wanna deal with extroverts and their cheerfulness and outgoingness.

Okay so Atol said he required us to attend an orientation for the first years and saying that he left muttering "Man that was so much work I can finally get some sleep" as he left

All the first years gathered in a big hall that was square in shape and had a big stage in the front with about a 100 seats, Me a typical introvert who dislikes social interaction headed straight for the last row of seats, and lo and behold Rez also followed me...WHYYYYYY.

He sat down next to me as the orientation began, honestly I didn't pay attention most of the orientation and instead spent the entire time twirling my dagger in my hand and fidgeting.

But basically, the orientation was about the classes we were going to take and the layout of the entire school.

I returned to the Inn I'm staying at to find Eterna flying around in her ghost form.

"hey, Railan how was the exam?" she asked

"It was fun though out of 120 people only 15 passed" I answered jumping onto the bed as I wanted to go to sleep.

"It was Atol wasn't it - your examiner? He is notorious for his excessively hard exams though not a lot of people know about him, those who do make sure to not get on his bad side" She said as she disappeared from her wisp form and appeared inside my head.

"Oh and bloodfallen is a great Axel, quite unique and I found a few other ways to use it, go through my memories if you wanna know, I wanna get some sleep" I said as I drifted away into a deep sleep.
