Jewel walked over and sat on the couch. Matt gathered coffee, creamer, and sugar onto one of the trays from the cart. He carried it over and placed it on the side table. Using his leg, he pushed the ottoman closer.
Stephon positioned himself slightly sideways so he faced her, and Matt knew it was hard for him not to gather her close. Matt was fighting the same impulse.
Stephon spoke first, "We know this past week has been a whirlwind. We can't make you stay, but we're asking for the rest of the week and then the weekend. You've worked hard for years and made ends meet. It's one of the things we admire about you, but we have more money than we know what to do with, and over the next six days we don't want you thinking about anything but the three of us."
