This didn't feel right. Sour bile rose into her throat, pushed there by the turning, twisting of her stomach. She always knew something was up when her bowels started protesting.

I've stepped into the Twilight Zone.

"More like fallen into." Of course Perez would chime in. Did he have no boundaries?

"None. And the sooner you realize that, the sooner we can move past all the awkwardness."

She rolled her eyes and then returned her gaze to the theater before her. The men in the yard were all tense, their hands on their weapons, their eyes trained on the men across the three yards of space separating them.

The men in black were lined up behind a single figure wearing just as much black, but his face was handsome, and his expression...well, his expression turned her blood to ice.

Who is that guy? Her instincts reared up in alarm, training her attentions on him.

The sensation nipping at her brain turned to devouring her common sense. She had to get closer, hear what they were saying.
