Chapter 91

Friday, August 30th

Patrick sold his phone and his leather jacket. The money was enough to get him through a few more days, but then it was gone. He hadn't paid the bills, and he knew they'd turn everything off in a couple of weeks. He didn't care.

Michael didn't come back, and no one sent him a memo, so he didn't know what their meeting had been about. He didn't care about that, either. They were just wasting time until the Executioners came. When they knocked on his door he planned to tell them everything. He'd sing like the proverbial canary and lead them straight to Arowenia. Not for his life, for Katelina's. If he cooperated, maybe the Executioners could stop Claudius from killing her.
