Chapter 13: Deskmates to Lovers(13)

Taylor POV:

When I was finished bathing, Lucia had put on her pyjamas and her hair was blown dry, even if she didn't wear black-framed glasses, that small face was half covered by the thick hair. I looked at her who was lying on the bed reading a book, and quickly jumped up next to her, sniffing the fresh fragrance from Lucia's body. My eyes were always on her face.

Lucia only glanced at me, probably wondering why I was so different today. Without asking, she pointed at the books and games she had on display wondering if we both could take it and play games. I shook my head hurriedly and said that I was going to just playing with my mobile phone, except that my eyes had been on Lucia's body, and the mobile phone was not turned on. All my attention was only on the person next to me.

I originally planned to take Lucia to do styling after the college entrance examination, which I also mentioned to her on the bus. But the next morning, I kept silent about the matter. Before the two of us went out, Lucia forgot to wear her glasses. I quickly took the black framed glasses and called Lucia.

"Wait."

"You forgot to wear your glasses."

I took the black-framed glasses and walked in front of her. I smiled to myself and helped her to put it on herself. By the way, I also played with her hair, trying to cover all the highlights of her face. I do not want my girl to attract flies now that I had seen her bare face last night I totally did not want to give her a makeup glow up at all.

Seeing her, looking so boring and gloomy, I was content and took her hand out.

After the college entrance examination scores, I really was the top champion as people had predicted, and Lucia was still only one point worse than me. While everyone was talking about the deeds of Taylor Stone in High School, I was lying in Lucia's house and had sweet dreams of our plans and future together.

Camilla's exam was not good, but because of Joe's presence, it is said that she still was able to attend Unicorn University with Joe. I had no intention to care about the specifics of how they did that. At this time, I was going to the university where I had applied for with Lucia.

The two reported the same major which was business, and I finally couldn't resist asking a sentence, "Lucia, I can finally call you my girlfriend right?" She said that after getting admission I can finally call her my girlfriend. I really want to hide this person in front of me even now I just wanted to cover up all the goodness of this person.

"Yes I can be your girlfriend but we will not disclose our relationship or else I belive we will get a lot of negative results."

Lucia didn't lie, that's how I also thought. I agree with her that we should keep our relationship a secret. After seeing the bad experience, I had, I wanted to have a peaceful and calm experience in our university days?

I did not thing too much into it this time, and my lips raised unconsciously. " You are right but you also have to remember to help me like always that's the only compromise I shall do if I cannot display my affection to you?"

"Of course." Lucia answered.

"That's great." I gave her a quick kiss which turned into a make out session.

After having my fill, I pursed my lips, "After some time, I'm going to my dad's company, Lucia. You can go too, okay, I'm not familiar with other people other than you, I will be able to adapt soon. My parents are not young. After that incident, their health is not very good. I want to help them work earlier to support our family."

"Ok." She smile like usual.

I couldn't hold in my smile either and hugged Lucia for a while, "Lucia, you are so perfect." It was so good that my heart rate was accelerated, so that I ignored our surroundings, I had the urge to grow up quickly, and have enough power to protect our love and my family. I have so much fear right now. Fear of the life a head of us both.

Maybe I was thinking too hard since I was brought out of my deep thinking by Lucia`s hand on my hair gently running it through my hair. "What are you thinking about?" she asked. I silently looked at her "Fear. I fear losing what we have now and what I have accomplished now with your help" I told her the truth keeping it inside might do more damage to my mind.

She silently looked at me before saying "Fear is our constant companion. We have a lot of things to fear. It is fear of the unknown. A fear of not knowing, whether we are ever going to succeed at what we do. A fear, that we are going to go back to the dark tunnel that we had so hard to get out of."

She kissed me so softly I could feel all the love that she was trying to convey to me. "But then you must remember darling that, fulfilment and achievement doesn't come from living in a happy paradise, exactly in the way, you think. Fulfilment comes from facing the fear and struggle head on and achieving little wins slowly over time.

Fulfilment comes from looking back at your biggest fears that you had overcome, and realizing, that this time wasn't so bad, after all you gained so much. And that you can now be proud of yourself, of having kept going, despite all odds being against you."

I had tears streaming down my face now, I sniffled and closed my eyes leaning onto her touch as she caressed my cheek. From the comforting touch of her hand to the beat of her heart against my own I could feel the love she had for me that at most time indescribable.

I then realized while in her comforting touch that I didn`t need her to say the right words all the time but only needed her to hold me and promise me that I was safe with her which I hoped would be forever and always.
