They were propped up against the headboard braced by pillows, sipping on the ice cold chardonnay she'd brought.
"So what made you get into drug enforcement?" Alix asked.
"What made you go for law?" he shot back.
"I'll answer your question if you'll answer mine," she teased.
"Fair enough. But you first." He grinned. "Remember, you belong to me this weekend so I set the rules."
She sobered for a moment. "I thought maybe you were kidding earlier. Are you really planning for me to spend the weekend here?"
He threaded his fingers through her hair and turned her head to face him. "Unless you have other plans."
An unfamiliar emotion - something she couldn't quite define - rippled through her. She'd come here tonight knowing that sex would be on the menu unless she called it off. The attraction between the two of them was as explosive as an electrical storm. Last Sunday that had been abundantly clear.
